  1. I found this link over on Wildgoose Chase and thought I'd bring it over here. A lot of interesting facts. http://www.answers.com/moto%20guzzi
  2. Well I must have been lucky. When I installed my Convertabars I also didn't use a stand but I had no problems getting it all back togeather. Right now it is looking like a 50/50 shot. Once you do get them on and set up you are going to really like them.
  3. So where is the best place to get the Stucci? Do any of our fine Forum sponsors carry them?
  4. Live rates at 2007.05.23 08:56:13 UTC 139.00 EUR = 186.663 USD Euro United States Dollars 1 EUR = 1.34290 USD 1 USD = 0.744658 EUR Thanks for the info Paul. I'm going to make some calls to AutoMeter tomorrow and see what my total cost would be. Right now if I need nothing else the AutoMeter would be cheaper for better quality. This will be interesting. Stand by for more updates.
  5. Well I've been looking at the AutoMeter site and they have real nice speedos and tachs that would look real nice. Does anybody know the size of our stuff? They have two sizes that might fit, 2 5/8" (66.7m) with a cup diameter of 2 11/16" (68.26mm) & 3 3/4" (95.3mm) with a cup size of 3 7/16" (87.31mm). Even though I was looking for a white face I really like their black face with the blue back lighting. Here is a link to check it out. I saw in my search for info that somebody else had used AutoMeter, any info on that? http://procycle.autometer.com/
  6. Ok I've read everything I could dig up under a search but one question still remains. It appears that if you have enough clearance (the bike is high enough off the deck) once all the appropriate stuff has been disconnected the wheel will drop straight down. Is this a correct assumption that I don't have to remove any of the rear fender parts?
  7. Well that SUCKS :!: I thought I had seen some of the other V11 LeMans & Sports with white face gauges. Well I'm still new to this stuff and you have far more knowledge on these bikes than I do. Oh well I guess I better order a new one now so I can have it by the end of the season. I'm also going to install a Trek speedo as a backup.
  8. Well it looks like I have joined the odometer/trip meter malfunctioning club. On my way home from the Euro Rally in Berkesville I glanced down and noticed my low fuel light on but the trip meter was only showing 77 miles. I had filled up in Glascow KY after just turning 10k on the odometer so it was working fine then. As I kept an eye on it I noticed that the tenths place would start to rotate and then click back but the speedo was working fine. Now finally to the real question. As my searches left me with the impression that it is replacement time, will the older white face speedo & tach work on my 04. I have found the black face very hard to read the inbetween numbers. I figure if I'm going to have to replace I might as well buy something that looks beter to me. Do the white face models suffer from the same early death problem? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  9. I have a set of black heavy ones on my 04 LeMans and they work quite nicely. Don't forget to use locktite as recommended or one day you will go to set the control and it won't be there. Other than that little personal goof I've had no problems with them. They are great for giving your right hand a little rest every now and then. You'll enjoy them.
  10. Back to the top :!: The date is getting closer I've been checking out the local area through Google Earth , looks like some killer roads
  11. Good question but I think Speed already has extended coverage on that one. Anyway thanks for the link :!: :!: :!: I just mailed it out to about 10 people.
  12. Yep add me too! I don't know where I stand in line at but I figured I better get in :!:
  13. I need a seat in any condition for my LeMans. I have a Rich Maund modified seat which is good for short trips but I want to get another modded by Meyers for long distance stuff. Actually as long as the seat pan is good I'm interested.
  14. That must be one heck of a bar riser you are installing. I've got a set of Convertabars on my 04 LeMans and I didn't change out the stock lines. I've had no problems. Did you try fitting it up first?
  15. Me too :!: I emailed, Todd replied quickly, I called and ordered. I guess it's time to change the oil.
  16. Well I presently have a LeMans but I have rode both the R90S and the MG Sport. My brother has a R90S that I took out once and at highway speed I was hanging on for dear life with my helmet threating to be sucked off my head. It wasn't a very pleasent experience and I will never ride one again. Two years ago I rode a sport at the Mid Ohio Rally and at first I was dreading the wind blast but it wasn't that bad. The fairing is a lot smaller than the R90S but it manages the airflow quite well for its size. The Lemans is far ahead of either. I've put in 800+ mile days with no problem. I have a small deflector on the windshield that put the air just right. I have no problem with the tunes being pumped into my helmet. I guess it depends on what your riding goals are. I like distance so I could never do the Sport. Also the LeMans to me has that look back over your shoulder appeal as you walk away from it. Only you can decide in the end but I highly recommend the LeMans but they are both good bikes.
  17. Ok so I've printed out everything on these little beauties, read it all and I'd like to get one. What will the cost be to the US for zip code 60050. I can Paypal the funds as soon as I know the answer.
  18. Greetings fellow Guzzi riders. Is anybody on here plan on attending the 9th Annual European Riders Rally in Burkevilles Kentucky May 18-20 this year. Maybe if enough of are there we can have our own little mini LeMans rally. I'm planning on it. I've heard it is a pretty good time. I just sent my check off in the mail today. I've included a link to the site for more info. I hope some of you make it! http://bmwmcon.org/rally.html
  19. Check out the link for a preview of the new 1200 Sport http://www.motorcycle.com/
  20. When I change my oil I always fill up the filter first and then install it. I then add 3 quarts. I've never had a flickering oil light. To me it just make sense to fill the filter first to avoid that initial dry oil period.
  21. Greetings Paul and welcome to our little forum. I also own an 02 Connie along with my 04 LeMans. I bought the MG initially for short local trips and weekend stuff but now I find that I ride it far more than the Connie. I'm sure that will change as the weather gets colder. The Connie as you know is a very warm blooded beast. I've been down to the Smokies via the Blue Ridge and in a couple of weeks I'm headed up to Ontario for their rally. I think the two bikes complement each other well. I can add nothing to this discusion about the BillyBob but I really like my LeMans and would highy recommend it. I added Convertabars and Buel pegs tomake the ergos better. I've done 600+ with no big problems. Good luck in your search.
  22. Anybody out there using the Corbin Gunfighter solo seat on their V11. How does it do for distance and what kind of hours and miles have you put on one. I currently have a Rich Maund seat but I don't think it and my hind quarters agree. It is great in the short run, 250 -300 miles but after that it start getting a little hard and I find myself taking more breaks which makes for a much longer day. The other option I've had suggested to me is one of the Air Hawk seat pads. Anybody use one of those. I'm planning a trip up to the Ontario Rally in two weeks and I will be coming home through Thunder Bay and Duluth MN. To do this in the time I have it is going to require multiple 500+ mile days. This would be nothing on my Concours but I have to approach this differently on the LeMans. Any ideas out these?
  23. Sorry it took so long for me to reply but here is a pic for you. Well I unfornately can tell you that they do work. On my first actual road trip with the bike I had the side stand bolt snap just as I was getting back on the bike and over we went. I was headed for the Virginia State Rally so I was loaded up. It happened so quickly that I didn't have a chance to catch the bike before we hit the pavement. There was no damage to the body work. The left slider now has a small scuff on it and thelft Motolight lost a little paint but other than that no damage. Once I got the bike back up off the ground I was able to use the slider to lean the bike up against a sign post so I could get back on. I'm quite sure they saved some considerable damage. I recommend them highly.
