  1. Take a look at the MFW products. I have mirrors with theturn signal lights .Also, the Vario pegs for the Ducati monster fit the V11 perfectly and are really nice I will post pics later. Cheer!! Alan http://www.mfw-wolf.de/en/products.shtml
  2. Thanx Raz, I'm in. I had found the union jack but had not found the laguage choice . now if I can find some prices.
  3. My 2000 sport has 4500mi. and the vibration seems to be getting worse. The tranni recall and a tuneup was done at 2400mi when I bought it. Since then I have drilled the top yoke and put some oberon risers, Flanders crome bars and Salamander heavy crome bar ends, looks bitchen! I thought the tall bars would have helped the vibe, but, no I really did'nt notice much change. I do like the tall set up ,very comfy. This past weekend I added a rubber barsnake. This helped on my 800 monster but did'nt do much for the goose. I think the bar snakes may be more effective at the higher frequency of smaller displacement engines? OK here is where my aging brain cell depleted mind is messing with me and I will show my lack of knowlege. The valves also seem to be getting noisier I will attempt my first valve lash adjustment next weekend. I did look at my plugs they were black, dry no residue or deposits. The gap was quite abit larger than the service manual recomended .7mm so I changed them. rode today and it just seems buzzy, even my feet seem to buzz more. Could the the valve lash be out enough in 2000mi to make any difference with vibration .What does the spark plug gap do? May be I am just thinking about it too much. Does the vibration on these bikes get better with miles? Could I be possible for it to get worse before getting better, or am I expecting too much? Any thoughts on this subject. Cheer!! Alan

  7. I am installing a parabellum scout fairing on my sport. where can I get the 2000 green paint. Can a good painter match this color. What should it cost to have a quater fairing color matched and painted. Cheer!! Alan
  8. I just had the tranni recall done on my new 2000 sport. the bike has 2,600 mi. I plan on commuting daily in city traffic, many stops lots of shifting. I do about 10kmi. a year. After reading all the stuff about the spring failures I am now totally paranoid. It sounds like it's a matter of when and not if the spring is going to fail. All the opinions on this forum are from 2003. Anything new on this issue. . Is there a concensus on what kind of preventative measure I should take. Where can I get the best spare spring to have around. Are there any avalible that don't break? I hate being worried about getting stranded or having to do a unexpected half day repair. Cheer!! Alan
  9. I think the 940 custom thing looks pretty cool, but then I love the look of the aprilla 6.5 moto .Your right the big motor would be better. Cheer!!

  11. Hello guzzi people, I just picked up a 2000 sport . I would like to put a Parabellum Scout faring on it. http://www.parabellum.com/ Charley, the parabellum design master, needs a v11sport for a couple of days to do a factory fitting to make this nice faring avaliable to all who want one. He will make it worth your time, probably buy you a cadillac or a burger or something. Anyway I really need to git this going soon as the mornings are getting pretty cold . I commute year around here in CA. His shop is about 1 hr. north of Atlanta. the phone# is Charley at (706) 864-8051. If any body has a bike in that area and could help this nobel Guzzi cause it would be much appreciated. Cheer!! Alan
  12. Well after lusting for a couple of years I picked up a 2000 green sport this week end.It has not been registerd since 04 so I can't ride it other then in my neighbor hood until I git to the DMV. I must say this is a cool bike. Smoother tranni and less vibes than my monster. Thanx to all for input into feeling secure with this decision to purchase an obscure luminecent green italian with big jugs . First it will get a stuchi xpipe and mistral cans. then off to GP cycles in SD for the recall. My Questions for noware. (1) Peg lowering kit from Evoluzion cycles ,posted on this site, not available any more any other suggestions ? (2) is there any differance in preformance or sound between the round and the oval mistrals , which look best. More questions later. Cheer!! Alan
  13. Hellow Guzzi people. I will be picking up a 2000 green V11 sport in a couple of weeks if all goes well. I have been lusting after this bike since I first saw one. The bike has 2500 mi. is bone stock except for a power commander. the recalls have not been done . Thanx Todd and other people for your input.I look forward to getting to know some of you other guzzi obsessed crazys. My Question is , when I bring the bike in for the tranni and connrod recall work to orange county triumph/moto guzzi. SA CA. When the bike is apart is there any highly recomended mods I should have them do? Do the dealers make any money on recall work. Is the recall really necassary? Is the bike likely to leak after ? any concerns or advice. Thanx all. Cheer!! Alan

    V11recall

Hi all guzzi people. I am very close to buying a 2000 sport. I mentioned the recalls on the tranni and the conrods to mark at moto classics in long beach CA. A highly respeced guzzi guy. He knew about the tranni but not the conrods?. My question is, If I picked up a sport and the recalls have not been done how would I find out what serial #s are to be fixed or is it on all 2000 bikes. Do I just roll into a dealer and say fix it ? any sugestions on proper protocall in handling this would be appreciated I don't want to buy a bike and get stuck with a repair. Cheer!!

    Am I crazy?

I became infatuated with the latest generation of V11’s the first time I laid my eyes on the green sport. In 03. I started bike shopping and ended up buying a 03. 800ie monster. This was the perfect starter bike for me. 99% of my riding is daily commuting 30mi total to work and back. I modified the wind shield for more protection, added hard bags and lowered the foot pegs .It has carbfibe arrow cans and it sounds really nice (maybe a little loud). I love this bike. No problems so far except a couple of failed brake light switches 24000mi. I also have a great local dealer. I am ready now for a bigger bike with more open road capability. I still can’t stop thinking about the 2000green sport. I have watched this site and others for awhile and have seen such mixed reviews. I plan on doing as much wrenching as I can I am not so sure about my local dealer. I have heard MGs are very reliable, but. What’s up with the speedo failing, the shift pawl spring failing, the electrical system problems can you ride them in the rain? Any other quirky problems that will leave me on the side of the road (this would be bad!). I don’t want to spend every week end working on it. I would like to put a Harpers A755 wind shield, Richmaund seat, Mistral or some other performance exhaust, regular bars, lower the foot pegs a little and add some HepcoBecker bags . This would be a great ride. What do you guys think? Can I count on this bike as my primary mode of transpo.? Does any body have more than 25k problem free miles on a late model V11? Comments please. Im so grateful for this site and the knowledgeable guys on it. I am new but don’t hold any punches, I can take it. Cheer!! ALdad
