    HI Idle

Valve adj.,tps and throttle body ballance. I backed off both idle screws. disconnected linkage. disconnected choke. set TPS to 150. tried to set to 520 for ballance and idle, too high . readjust linkage no tention. air bypasses 1/2 turn out from close. bodies ballanced with linkage adjuster and rt screw. Runs great but idle is at 1300-1400 and the TPS is at idle 360 air bleeds at 1 or 1/2 not much difference. LF screw not in contact. If I back off RT side screw it won't ballance. any ideas!?
  3. That is dissapointing. My 2000 sport was just dynoed at 81 & 64 with a stucci & mistrals. I still would consider the Breva I am sure it is a better handling bike.
  4. You people have way too much free time!! Cupid Doheny, Now thats just plain stupid.
  5. I am looking at the scheduled maintenance table. Says Fuel tank, cock filter, piping. Check and adjust at 6,12K . What and where?. Something I should watch? Cheer!!
  6. I will be doing 12k service over the holidays. What is the simplest procedure for changing the fork oil. How much do I put back in and what wt.5,7,10? what is the stock wt.? I will also be doing the cush drive mod. I will swiss cheese the rubbers, should I eliminate some of them as per recent post ? Cheer!! Alan

thanx! I have never toutched the pin when removing the tire .thats why Iam suprised I figure rust if nothing else would be holding in place.

    Anchor's away

So I'm going down the hill to work approaching the bottom ready to make my turn at the intersection. I apply the brakes and pop no back brake. After making the turn at a little faster than normal speed Wheeee! I pull over. The lifeless severed brake line lay stretched out trailing the green goose oozing its last few drops of vital fluid. After recovering from the shock of this gruesome site I inspected for collateral damage. I found that the anchor pin for the brake assembly, the one that screws through the left swing arm and inserts into that little block that is the pain in the ass when you remove and replace the wheel. This had backed out and, see ya.. The brake assembly spun around like one of the Ayatollah
  10. I use the vario adjustable foot pegs by MFW on my 2000 sport. Very nice. The one for a ducati monster fits perfectly. The pegs give about 1" extention in a number of directions, up,down, back forward etc.. It does move the foot out some .I spacered out the shifter rubber and used a longer bolt. they really are nice. The owner at urotech is also very helpfull . http://www.eurotechmotorsports.com/ Good luck!! Alan
  11. 2000 sport. Ok, changed tires to 120/70 ,160/60 Diablos. Had a 180 on it. Droped front 8mm. Front sag now 23free,33mm rider ,rear is 25/37. + on comp/dmp. on front couple clicks past half way and more on rear I'll have to figure out where I am on rear I think I'm about 3/4 + in. Next time tank is off I'll add a bit more preload. I can't believe how much lighter the rear end feels, much better. Before, it was like I was riding around with a serious load in my shorts. No more speed wabble in corner with abrupt throttle chop, not that this is my deceleration technique of choice but it does sometimes happen in the real world. I do anticipate a shorter tire life as I now feel it spin sometimes when I get on it out of corners. I am not totally comfortable with this light feeling yet on this bike. My monster spun and ate tires when I rode hard but maybe it was the shorter weelbase that made the rear feel more confident? Maybe I just need a coulple of weeks. Anyway I'm loving it,Thanx for the advice on this spectacular fourm, Thanx Senor Rachethead. Now I cant wait to modify the cush drive as per the recent thread. Cheer!! Alan
  12. Yes my fork tubes are flush . I had thought about lowering them . I also have standard bars, triple clamp drilled and risers, putting even more weight to the rear. This setup prior to the tire change took enough weight off the front to give my 210lb on the bike proper sag in the front. the fork felt OK. I am in the process of trying to figure out what rear spring to go to to get correct sag without a bunch of preload.I have the stock shock with the blue rebound adj. and seporate comp. cylnd .Anybody have any sugjestions what spring setup and where to get them? Thanx!!
  13. Can somebody please tell me what the procedure is to disconnect and lube the speedo ,9000mi now. I am sure I can figure it out , But an experienced tutorial would save me time and a potential screw up. Thanx!! Alan
  14. Hi guys, Took everbodys advise and put a new 160/60 diablo on my 2000 sport on a 4.5 rim. previous owner had a 180/55 .The bike feels great turning in and at speed in a straight 90mph. The Question is, on my way home tonight going through my favorite uphill left sweeper at about 60 mph I chopped off gas to slow for a red light and got a significent wobble. I have run this corner for the past year on this bike, and three previous years on my monster, and have never experienced this before. I am sure I have come off the gas at the same speed in the same place before. I am running 39lbs rear,37frt. Maybe I have not had this exact scenario before but with the light at the top I would think I would have. Any Ideas? Maybe I just need to learn how to ride a Guzzi and not chop the throttle mid-corner YA-Think!!
  15. OK, sorry. Please paint the tank Greeeen!! Cheer!!
  16. Yes, I have mounted the parabellum on my V11 with the 18''.. I have standard bars and the fairing is mounted to the mirror-master cylinder and the head light. I will post pic when I paint it. It works well.Cheer!! Alan
  17. Looks like a fun herd, but the the Frankenbike V11 is a blasphemy. Sorry, I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder. Cheer!!
  18. Anybody know where to get the crash bar on this bike?
  19. I am going on my first tour next month on my 2000 sport.. So Cal up to Oregon. 200-300 mi. days. Last wknd I did 200mi to see what to expect. My Rich Mound seat was a much needed improvement over stock. I also have lower foot pegs, Vario. pegs-eurotech. http://www.eurotechmotorsports.com. The parabellum scout fairing http://www.parabellum.com/ is also very nice.. I would still like an alternate foot position, legs more extended. For long freeway rides. Has anybody figured a simple way to attach a fwy peg of some kind and where? I wouldn’t want a cruiser on the twisties but they sure look comfy going down the road after 100 mi. in a strait line. Anybody have a solution other than surgery to shorten my legs. Cheer!! Alan
  20. Thanx Ratchet, Best laugh in the last month. Cheer!!
  21. Thanx guys. I will replace tires with 120/70 front,is this OK? and a160/60 rear.
  22. I picked up a 2000 sport with 2200 mi. on it. Bike has a 180/55 on the rear and a 120/70 front. It's my understanding that the 2000 has a 4.5 rim 0n the rear and a 3.5 on the front. I am not sure how to measure rim size but the rear is 5.5 from the most outer edge to other edge where the tire meets the rim and the front is 4.5. something does'nt make sense ? I can't imagine larger rims were put on .The tires are perelli dragons I dont know if these were original equip. But with only 2.2k mi. Why would'nt they be? Any ideas????? Cheer!! Alan
  23. It don't turn me on. Looks like all the other modern eurojapo sportbikes of late. I hope Guzzi's does'nt lose all the character in their future projects that has always made them so unique.
