  1. Interesting, my Scura has a metal one with indentations.
  2. The reason I asked is because it seems that the V11s use internal fuel pump versus the Scura using external? Can't seem to locate a decent PDF parts catalogue for the Scura.
  3. To which series would the Scura share the closest bloodline? For example, I noted that in the parts catalogue, the V11 has internal fuel pumps whereas the Scura has an external one. Any other differences besides the carbon bits?
  4. Hi, I managed to track down a replacement Weber part, but this one has 200 kpa (2 bars) stamped on it instead of 300 kpa (3 bars) on the stock part. I'll like to know if the 100 kpa difference (1 bar) is crucial for the fuel pressure regulator? Cheers
  5. Hi, does anyone have the part number for the manual one that is better? Is it 29105460? does it look like this? I asked Moto International and what I was given was TLO11054600000 PETCOCK QUOTA,C3-I,DAYT,SP1100 - A1 at USD$34. The part number seems to be a departure from the regular Guzzi style. Cheers
  6. Reviving this thread, does the V11 supply enough supply to the Odyssey battery without the need for an occasional keep-fit charge? I ride my Guzzi infrequently, and wonder if the Odyssey will be appropriate. Thanks
  7. Been doing some reading up. It appears that the new LiPO4 batteries will need some care. If the battery discharges to say less than 9V then it will have to be discarded. I installed a SHorai which went to 7.5V (I think there is some draw even when the bike is not being used) and it is dead.
  8. Got one for my Scura. It complements the bike. Came with compatible clip ons etc. The stock clip ones are too high and will hit the fairing.
  9. That is how I felt about my Scura. However, after riding her a while, it seems that she needs a firm hand and that like a canine, she can sense fear, so do not exhibit that.
  10. Hi all, went lost in the wilderness for a while rebuilding my airhead; popped back here to say hi. No, I'm not ratchethack. Still have my V11; can't bear to see her go. Cheers
  11. My steed was more, eh, frantic with stock cat; and after the Stuchhi it is better behaved at low ends, and a more linear power delivery. Never gotten to (and need not) find out how top end is affected since I never went more than 120 mph on mine. Of course the weight loss too ....
  12. Seen them in the flesh, although did not buy them cos' I had one too many pair of riding boots. Look good, the build quality; kinda flashy but really goes with the Guzzi bike thing.
  13. Count me in ... paying by PayPal would be good. T preferred. Cheers
  14. My speedo swings wildly, it's due to the speedo cable not being completely laid straight; an impossible feat, I think. Cheers
  15. haha ... I am reading up, and it seems that I will (if I want to indulge in this) to buy the gun and powder. So the sizes of the items will depend on the oven size. Hmmm, tempting, now to figure out how to ship it to Singapore .... Thanks loads for the education. Cheers
  16. Looks great. What's involved in hotplating? Is it the same as ceramic coating? Thanks for the education. cheers
  17. Well, the threadstarter did say he wants good dealer support so I did not think about a Guzzi Seriously, I am sharing my knowledge about BMWs as part of the advice he sought. For the R1150R, one will have to check the following: (1) service records if possible, (2) 3 major components - Hall sensor, clutch and starter; have they been replaced? The Hall sensor is a hit and miss thing; the clutch is a 50K to 100K wear-&-tear item and the starter is about 50K km change item. (3) check the final drive for sideways play, this is a clue to worn final drive bearings. (4) check the area between the transmission and engine, and the oil sight glass for signs of leak. PM me if you need more advice. The BMW and the Guzzi are similar in many ways, but the V11 is so much more, well, "raw" when ridden. That can be a bad or a good thing. Cheers
  18. Try a R1150R? They are understated, but handling wise they are great. I know. I own one. Here's the pic off the net with a touring screen and standard bags. Very good support at http://r1150r.org/board/viewforum.php?f=2 The other option I would recommend is a low mileage R1100RT, only discernable difference from a r1150RT is a lack of a 6th gear that you do not really need and I reckon that for its age the price will be low. 3 adjustable seat heights, servo-adjustable screen and parts available from just about any BMW dealer, plus aftermarket dealers like Wunderlich. Good luck in your search. Cheers
  19. Will go check the plugs when I can. Thanks. The other thing is that the bike cannot idle for long; after about 3 minutes or so, even when warmed up the idling will slow down until it stall. Unrelated issue (to the heat issue) of adjusting the idling?
  20. This is the Gulf race scheme .... applicable to .... cars ... Bikes ... Lids .... vespas .....
  21. It's strange that I should only notice this like 2 years after I bought the bike, but my scura runs hot. I mean, I am going like 90 km/h in a 30 degrees centigrade ambient temperature and yet I felt heat on my inner thigh (right side) and bum (right side too). Was wearing a thin pair of jeans but I do not think that that is the problem; not the first time I wore that on my Guzzi. What you guys reckon? Sign of any impending mechanic failure? I do not ride the bike often enough, BTW, have a couple of other bikes. Cheers
  22. This is good news, and please don't be a stranger here. Cheers
  23. Trying my luck here; looking for a Mistral cross-over; can consider a Stucchi one too for a V11. Preferably ship to Singapore, paying by Paypal so you only ship after the money is in. Email to andychiok@gmail.com, pls. Cheers
  24. Great pics .... I like this one .... Cheers
  25. Thank you ... ... we are all learning here. Once you sort out the lady you won't sell her
