  1. The hidden part is the small actuator for the safety switch. When you remove the lever, be prepared to catch the little puck that is in a hole in the housing between the lever and the switch. Sometimes that is a little ball bearing whose chief purpose is to spit itself into a parallel universe if you're not ready to nab it. Clean that hole well and grease the pivot pin. Once the stamped nut is on, consider a zip-tie through the pivot pin in case the nut works itself loose and the pin pops out. This allows the lever to fall out and ruins our day. It sounds like time to flush your rear brake fluid and clean/service the rear caliper. Inspect for excessive pad wear that would contribute to increased pedal travel. Another source of increased pedal travel is a bad wheel bearing. Absolutely worth checking your rear wheel bearings.
  2. Rotating the steering to get the starter to work is characteristic of faulty bullet connectors for the clutch switch:
  3. "Just one word " . . .
  4. Let's face it, re-making a motorcycle successfully is not a matter for amateurs, the faint-hearted, or commercial venture. For the outcome to touch the heart and capture totality, some combination of skill, vision, experience, tools, and a certain amount of reverence must combine with resources, time, dedication and perseverance. I offer this case in point:
  5. A most dear friend, who has passed now, arranged a bass line for me to accompany his lead guitar/vocals on that song. It means so much more to me now thinking of him, "Wish You Were Here " . . .
  6. I really thought I would push your Too Serious Button (like you did mine on the Redneck Jazz thing ) with the buffoon <--> bassoon play-on-words, but it seems it fell flat. Playing the buffoon comes rather too easily to me . . .
  7. I so appreciate how this performance features a series of solos. The buffoon solo at 1:49 is especially refreshing . . .
  8. And was "Pink Floyd" the original Redneck Jazz . . .
  9. Any updates on your project, @Klaus756?
  10. At least we would know why your head is done-in. Some people's heads are done-in and nobody knows why . . .
  11. Pinned topic for others to post and find more easily . . .
  12. At the (further) risk of overposting (again), here is some Redneck Jazz that just touches my heart . . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHv3chUOygc
  13. Recently, a fellow explained to me that motorcycles are essential to a man's survival, even if they are sitting in the garage just to be gazed upon. His compelling argument? "Dinosaurs didn't have motorcycles. Look what happened to them !"
  14. I didn't know Redneck Jazz is a genre. Here is my vote for the best Redneck Jazz: Route Irish
