Tonight, I had to learn what is "graupel" and riming. Turned the V11 on and warmed its PC545 for a few minutes. Gives me high hopes to see pics of actual riding from The Flip-Side . . . .

Not yet. On the way from the UK, "Royal Post", so I feel confident. The seal isn't really what is leaking. It's the sorry job I did replacing the sideplate after my last inspection/ Chuck-made~Scud Spring /and partial Lucky Phil Shift Improvement. Really just looking to keep up a relationship with my Sport while there are Winter Weather Advisories . . . (Thanks for asking, footgoose! )
-
Exactly! Y'all boys get out and ride! . . . I think I'll check my battery (again) and maybe try to reseal that gearbox sideplate . . .
-
Sure do hope our brothers in the Southern Hemisphere keep the riding pictures coming. Buzz says, "We'll pay you back in a few months. Promise!"

I've not seen a V7Sport that color. I find it striking, yet very tasteful with the red frame . . .

I've seen, up close and in person, the Moto Guzzi V8 that was part of the Guggenheim "Art of the Motorcycle" exhibit (at the Pyramid in Memphis, Tennessee). And again when The Frist Museum in Nashville had one as part of "Sensuous Steel - Art Deco Automobiles" It became a game, "Can you trace the eight individual exhaust pipes?" I came away imagining what the harmonics of those eight pipes would sound like to the ear with the V8 on the cam . . . must be glorious!
-
Talk about the original Moto Guzzi V7 having the "presence of a Norman horse" . . . I don't remember that one at Shiloh . . . Somewhere in Virginia?
-
While the hi-cam was from Umberto Todero, my understanding is the V8 came from Giulio Carcano (who went on the design yachts) . . . ?
-
HA, right? I've never seen that view of The V8. The frame looks like a stand pipe off a sewer line . . .
-
WOW-wow, bsanorton! Nice selection! That Rosso Mandello is an awesome example of a fine V11 with an outstanding history. Welldone, Sir!

On an injected 1100 Sport-i, like the V11, you can disconnect the return fuel line to the tank and it will drain the lines (and probably the filter). If you have a fuel tank petcock closed, removing the output fuel line from there will help purge the lines/filter/pump through to the return line at the regulator. Be prepared to catch 100-200 ml of fuel. It's always a nasty job. NO !!! [This is from my early V11/external fuel pump experience which I believe is valid for the 2nd gen 1100 Sport-i]

Full disclosure: I'm not sure my seal is really leaking at all. I removed the sideplate to inspect the gearbox when my Sport failed to move under power and made an awful noise from "down yonder." The problem was not the gearbox (split front driveshaft yoke), but I installed the the Chuck-designed/Scud-made Super Spring and performed (most of) the Lucky Phil Shift Improvement. I didn't get the sideplate sealed well and it weeps blue blood (RedLine Shockproof Lightweight) to a very slight, but annoying degree. So, I need to try and seal it again. Once off, I can finish the Lucky Phil Shift Improvement and install the McMaster-Carr roller bearing to replace my notchy original. Figured I might as well refresh the shifter shaft seal and be done with it. One can hope . . .

So, that's what got my seal a-weepin' . . . dammit, footgoose!

And Buna-N (Nitrile, yes?) is fine for this application? (I hate to admit what i paid for a couple shipped from the UK. Not "$1.00" ) . . .

Moto Guzzi # GU 90401526 Gutsibits states it is 26mm OD I have a shipping email from them already this morning. Their website says this item "usually restocks within a few days."
-
Quite likely the very best sorted V11(/10) known to exist. So very welldone!
-
Another member sent me to Gutsibits and I have one on the way from the UK. Seems it they're last one or I would have gotten a spare. Perhaps, we can yet find a generic replacement that is commonly available . . .
-
I went looking for the post where you suggested getting two because of their fup duckability. So, ordered two back in December, but just learned they remain back ordered from Piaggio. I seem to recall my other common sources showed them out of stock. Seems like such a simple part that I thought we should come up with a replacement source outside of the Piaggo network (especially for simple things that they are not stocking) for Scud's Encyclopedia of Compatible Parts. Thanks for the offer to send me your spare! I can trade you an OMRON High Zoot relay or some other contraband . . .
-
I've had a shifter shaft seal (to fit to the shift mechanism assembly sideplate) on order a couple months - still on back order from Piaggio. Do we have a suitable alternative (or source) for this simple seal? (#30: GU 90401526)

So, the turn signals are on a different circuit. As 80CX100 says, there are suppliers that still stock them. Look at the linked post in that thread for “online components.” Swapping #2 with a minimally stressed relay like #3 might help confirm the issue, but a full set of OMRON High Current relays (G8HE) is a good move, regardless.
-
Also worth noting that we can pull a 27mm axle nut and use that the work the filter cover.
-
Sheesh, bud. Hate it when "Headlight/horn/brake light" makes a guy pull his tank and go down that rabbit hole . . . All those are on a common circuit through Relay#2 . . . Here's docc beatin' that OMRON High Current Relay drum again . . . Not the first time nipples get involved and complicate things. . .

I spy an Öhlins reservoir? Not a Sachs rear shock, then?
