  1. My "clutch gear" 04211600 Looks pretty knackered. Enough to stop the clutch from engaging? docc's 76,500 mile input

  3. She finally, said, *okay* . . .
  4. Oh, it was all going so smooooothly, until I moved to slip one of her stilettos loose . . . . . . I suppose there's no getting to the "clutch" if it all snaps to a stop at that!
  5. Soooo, I haven't got that far yet! That is an image Tomchri sent me. So, grossohc, which part did you have the excessive wear?
  6. Is it this piece? And, Chuck, is it this (input "shaft" = input "hub?") [ABOVE: Tomchri's input hub / "clutch gear"]
  7. As many of you know, my wishful thinking that my clutch slave had failed burst like a bubble. A couple other members have reported sticking clutch plates. In one case, the friction material came off one of the plates and gummed up the input shaft. grossohc, what did you find when you got into the clutch? ["The problem was the plates sticking on the flywheel. Anyway the only thing I didn't buy for this job was a new clutch line. So just dive in there and have fun Docc."], posted by grossohc in Andy York's "Clutch Slave" thread: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19794&p=222978
  8. Actually, I'm rather enjoying the tear-down. I do hope some one will contact Grimeca and see if we can nail down a reliable resource for servicing the slave cylinder. I' going to be a bit distracted for a bit . . . [grossohc, I'll start a separate thread to get your input on the *sticking plates" . . . I know one other member with the same experience recently.]
  9. I was trying to figure out where to put the notch. Yeah, I used the Cu hammer to drive the lower gearbox support out of the stilettos.
  10. So . . . THAT's how you get to that bawdy-farking front U-joint!
  11. Truly! Last night, I sat, enthralled, listening to him talk guitars. Such extraordinary expertise, yet so kind and modest:
  12. ZAZ... one of my new faves. Thanks Chuck. Excellent. +1+ . . . Listening to them in Switzerland, 2013 (so great!):
  13. Ditch Photobucket. Watch for ImgZeit
  14. Yeah, I can't get that to appear in a visual frame, either. But it is delightful!
  15. I think you should track down Tenni no2 and have the perfect trifecta! :mg:
  16. I'm going to leave that to someone else while I get my clutch out. Sounds like the next best step, though.
  17. Those are enjoyable reads, and perhaps assuage the wrenching and frustration a bit. I had to lift a couple phrases: "It's negligible, but maddening." "I only found it because of the good people on the [V11LeMans.com] forum." {paraphrase, of course, added}
  18. What good is being eight weeks out from the fourteen-minus-oneth chance to ride the Sport to a South'n Spine Raid and not take it about halfway apart . . .
  19. Cool!... I couldn't find it in a brief search. Any links? BLIGHT
  20. "Was ist los mit der Mühle (der Sport!)? *Done Broke Down!
  21. These high-strung 2-strokes must really, really need zero ethanol fuels?
  22. Apparently, the original fiberglass Stucchi for the early Sport is still available directly from Stucchi Luigi in Mandello.
  23. Agreed, that would interesting to see fitted to a V11! But, then, Guard's Red and part of the party dress?
  24. I had no luck getting the seals at all. Other than the likelihood that they should be made of EPDM, I also had no luck deriving a specification of shape and dimensions. The seals that came from McMaster-Carr (who refunded my money), are Buna-N (nitrile) and not compatible with brake fluid. They did help me see that the original Grimeca "flat" seal doesn't actually appear square section and that the 3mm square seal doesn't test-fit right.
  25. These wise fellows have me going the right direction. We'll leave this thread to anyone who can come up with the answer to the original poster's question: "Has anyone found replacement seals for the V11 Grimeca clutch slave cylinder?"
