  1. Agreed. After taking my bevel box apart, then again, then again, I would only make the oil change and not overfill. Any dirt or moisture getting past the needle bearing will not affect the seals or bevel box internals, only the axle pushing through the "spacer." Simply grease the axle well as it pushes through. However, servicing the "cush drive" on your wheel might be good now!
  2. AFAIK, only the finish was changed for different models.
  3. GPR? I'm not familiar with this one. Have a link?
  4. What? No microscopic close-up the the tensioner?
  5. Here, I thought working on our own motorcycles could rate somewhere on the same page as Bomb Squad. Some of these things, you do not want to screw up!
  6. I would go with something more subdued like black or antracite and let onlooker's attention be focused on more interesting parts of the bike. You have a replacement hugger already?
  7. Hmm! Who told you about that one?An old timer with no teeth and a spittoon, I'll wager... and a shed full of pristine restos! Small world! You know motowfo, too!
  8. There are lots of (expensive) penetrating fluids out there, but check out a 50/50 mixture of ATF and acetone. (not for use as a fork oil!)
  9. I've linked back to this discussion on the Tank Off Maintenance Checklist. Thanks, Gentlemen!
  10. waspp, what do you mean "high gear clamps?"
  11. It couldn't have been that howlin' burn-up across the Cherohala . . . C'mon Doccc..... I might be a flatlander but I was going quick enough on the Cherohala to work the edge rather than the middle of the tire. I am sure that we were all within the speed limits. Ha - fun road to work the edges down! I think you did it justice. I-40 west of Nashville would be like riding on a treadmill. The sacrifice a mid-westerner must make to revel in those Appalachian twisties!
  12. There's an awkward odd-shaped depression in the top of the tank under the chin pad.
  13. Alright. So, you motivated me to pull mine and wire brush them and apply a fresh dose of copper anti-seize. They were dryer and more corroded than I expected! Thanks for reminder!
  14. Ok, so that looks like the left front sub-frame mount to the timing chest. (czakky, you take the most closest uppest pics I've even seen!) Now, Ladies and Gentlemen: gstallons to the rescue!
  15. It couldn't have been that howlin' burn-up across the Cherohala . . .
  16. Very likely your filter is above the frame/ under the fuel tank which will require its removal. Check this link, but don't be overwhelmed by the list of "other" things you could do while the tank is off: Tank Off Maintenance Checklist
  17. He uses this email: motomodaoptusnet dot com dot au in this thread: Sloppage Sheets
  18. Interesting, though this technical progression. Even when our funky V11 were built, people lamented the fuel injection and ECU. Gone were the days of "tuning." I think we've proved without a doubt, that a determined owner can cock up the FI every bit as well as a carburettor!
  19. I'm excited about this new Guzzi. I expect the young lad will let me have ride on it. I'm not disappointed it doesn't come with a cannabis, but it was a pretty weak joke from the start . . . Apologies for any offense there, Pete!
  20. I got that mostly figured out except the cannabis part . . .
  21. Fantastic! Looking forward to a report on the reliability of the GPS speedo.
  22. Hubert, How did you come by a 5,5 inch rim on your 2000 Sport?
