  1. Summed up Nicely... Thank You. Back on Topic..... Or Admin please lock otherwise... I recently received a swingarm for the F1 Conversion.... However, the advice prevailed. I sold it. Now I'm hunting another instrument bezel for the production Bike or a vacuum former that could remold and form me a useable one til I find a good one. Thanks, Richard Z.
  2. Let me help with some proper spelling and Grammar. your = you're. Wow, It's folk's like yourself I'm GLAD I sold My WW RG.... The post was asking for real input about the Wes Cooley Replica. Not your 500. If you have some input about the "S" I'd enjoy hearing it. Otherwise, Go troll someone else's topic. I was specific in my post, that there wasn't any V11 references to be found in it, nor any RG500. I can only assume your input was clearly out of getting your post count up and to further your ego... Good Luck with that, Mr Troll....
  3. Thank You for the tip...... If I do end up doing the F1 It'll have the monoshock swingarm. I'll have to fab something for sure... The frame is already blasted and has been welded. I've already added gussets to a couple of locations and check areas for cracks. I'm waiting to finish depending on what I decide to do.... Thanks everyone for the ideas and comments. I'll keep ya posted on the build. Richard Z.
  4. Hmmm? Good question on the serial #. I know the real ones were released with the 18" Wheel and the model specific gauges. I'll look into it. I sold my ELR Last July. Went to a collector in Ohio. I got more than what the market was offering at the time... I took the money. Divorce and stress will do that. Yes, I'm kicking myself..... I have another frame and engine for another ELR. I bought it for cheap, but have years of work ahead of me. I wanted to get on the 1000S since I've had it for so long. I owned one back in the 80's and sold it before I knew what I had. As you see, I'm bad about that. My reservation is the gauge bezel. It's the one thing that eludes me. I have 2 of them but neither is worthy. I guess I like the idea of having a F1 bike, but don't want to destroy a real "S" doing so. However, I thought building an F1 out of the "S" would be really cool too. I'll keep pulling my hair out. I think Tom and Yourself have talked sense into me... I'll just find a battered 1000E and cut it up..... Richard Z.
  5. I know, I've been retinking this over and over... I'd hate to modify the bike. I loved my ELR. If I could duplicate a Formula 1 bike with a regular GS1000E or something along that lines it would be just another clone. Never worth the money paid for it. I'm sure all the Yosh team bikes are gone. That just leaves me this option. It's not a done deal. The bike is apart and most of the pieces are powdercoated and redone with the exception of the bodywork. I've always wanted a F1 or GP Replica. I've just needed the right incentive to build one... Thanks for the input. Richard
  6. Thanks for the input. I forgot the thread was about you.
  7. I've owned my 1979 Suzuki GS1000S for several years and with the sale of my Eddie Lawson Replica there is a hole in my heart and garage. The GS1000S otherwise known as a Wes Cooley replica was built for 2 years with less than 400 built total. The NOS and good used parts are scarce. Especially the body and Instrumentation. I have all the parts, however, some aren't the best condition and reproducing them would be costly. However, I think I've come up with an idea to keep the bike true to it racing heritage and keep the value up on the bike. I recently found a set of fairings for a Formula 1 GS1000S. This would allow me to build the bike and keep the restoration honest. It will allow me to use updated component but not devalue the bike. The first picture is of the factory Wes Cooley Replica. The pic of the actual bike a few years ago. It's not it great condition but a good start. The AMA Superbike pics with Wes Cooley aboard. And the AMA Formula 1 Suzuki GS1000S with Wes Cooley aboard... I think the last is the route I want to go. I can sell the stock components and get some $$$ back to finish the bike. What's everyones thoughts? Richard Z.
  8. Mine too.. I took it in yesterday. The Odometer quit about the same time the fuel light quit... Ask me how I know... LOL All's well. They ordered the speedo last month and I dropped it off. New Tires, brakes, oil change, Clutch and brake fluids flushed. Gonna be ready for next year.... meanwhile, I'm stuck riding the Ducati Richard Z.
  9. What boot is that, if I may ask? I want a new set of Stylmartin's but I can't find a what I want here in the states. I don't want to chance buying a set without trying them on. However, against my own advise, and since I needed a set quickly last summer I ordered a cheap pair off Ebay. Vega Nitro's. $60 USD delivered. I was actually happy enough with them and wear them all the time. They took a little getting used to but have worked out well in a pinch. My Tour masters were cut off my feet after my accident. Thing is, that didn't hurt my feelings. I have a 26 year old pair of Stylmartin's that I love but they are just worn completely out. I'd like to hear what others are wearing too as next season is around the corner. I'm going to use the chepo's for the winter..... Vega Boot: Richard Z
  10. I guess I need to lose my extra Battery Tender and bottle of Sta-bil. Thank you for the great advice... I guess when I need to move it around, I mean the countryside.... Already took a spin on it... It's much too tall for my 5'6" height. But, once I was rolling, smooth, quiet, torquey and very nimble. I need to replace the head guards. You can't lean it like the Guzzi. Someone mislocated the cylinder heads.... Richard Z.
  11. Friend of mine dropped this off. He split from his wife and doesn't have anywhere to store it... I told him to leave the keys, just in case I need to move it around.... It fits in very comfortable with the Guzzi and the Ducati... Who needs Asian and American bikes.... Not me... LOL
  12. 2006 with 1000 Miles on her..... @6inches at a time, is that alot.....lol

Hey, I want to complain about this thread... The term "erection" has been beaten to death... LOL BTW, Now that the government will pay my mortgage and share the wealth, I can buy another motorcycle... See, I got motorcycling into my reply. It's easy Richard Z.
  15. My Mistress: Ain't she a sweety? BTW, I got to go for a ride on her last night. Wonderful... However, My Guzzi looked sad when I got home. So I took it for a ride and come home. Detailed the Guzzi while the Mistress watched. I never thought a threesome would be so difficult...
  16. Done.... Now I know Euro to USD conversion. Learned something new. Money well spent..... It's not much. Don't have much since the Mistress took all my money..... Richard Z.
  17. Wouldn't a set of Dual Dunstall Double tapers look good?????
  18. Cool Idea... I'm keeping this one unmolested..... Gives me a reason to ride by myself..... Richard Z.
  19. Met through friends.... A friend of mine purchased it new in 2006. Never rode it. He has a Boxercup and that is his bike of choice. Well, last week he told be he was buying a loft in old town. No extra space, so he offered it to me. I always liked the bike, but have never ridden it... I wrote him the check and he rode it to my house. I broke my left hand in an unrelated accident. I got the nerve to ride it yesterday... I'm in terrible pain, but it was well worth it. Can't wait to spend some quality time in 4-6 weeks... Richard Z.
  20. First my V11 aka Vespa.... And now my Italian Mistress: Sorry for the bad pics. Got it home late and it's still dirty... Just like a Mistress... LOL 2006 Ducati 1000LE Paul Smart Replica.... (for those that don't know what it is) Richard Z.
  21. A biker is riding by the zoo, when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents. The biker jumps off his bike, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly. A New York Times reporter has watched the whole event. The reporter addressing the biker says, 'Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I saw a man do in my whole life.' The biker replies, 'Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger, and acted as I felt right.' The reporter says, 'Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist from the New York Times, you know, and tomorrow's paper will have this story on the front page... So, what do you do for a living and what political affiliation do you have?'' The biker replies, 'I'm a U.S. Marine and a Republican.' The journalist leaves. The following morning the biker buys The New York Times to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on front page: * U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH
  22. How I roll.... When I'm not road trippin' Richard Z.
  23. Triumph Sprint ST... Hands Down..... I've owned BMW, Guzzi Of Course and The Triumph. Wish I'd never sold the ST. Best Bike in all around capability and Sport Touring. I'm Biased, I loved that Sprint... I haven't ridden the New Kaw Concours or the FJR. I'm sure both are good... Did I mention I like the Triumph???? Of course mine was the last Generation Sprint....... BTW, Hello and Welcome.... Richard Z.
