  1. I'm just not a big fan of Black.. Don't get me wrong. Black Bikes and cars are beautiful... However. I'm a wash and wear kinda guy.. Not a Wash, Wax, Buff, Swirl Remover and Repeat kinda guy....

  4. Hammer meet nail. Nail meet hammer. Got to AGREE with TOM... I put M4's on and thad them about 3 weeks before the PC..... Did the same thing... Now I'm in good shape, thing runs great.
  5. I'm not going to take the time to read a Hypothetical story question... Way more than 3-4 seconds.... My answer.... I never get overtaken.... LOL I never said I wouldn't look under or over my shoulder.... Riding safely is about technique... Using only a mirror for information isn't the safest way to get around.. My answer was mostly sarcasm though.... Otherwise if there is that much traffic around me, I stay familiar with my surroundings continuously.. I use more than my mirrors to know my whereabouts and every other obstacle.... I have napoleon bar end mirrors..... I have good visibilty with them at any speed. With the exception of a harmonic vibration about 6400 RPM.. Instead of the rubber inserts they provided, I used a Urethane suspension Bushing. They hold tighter and visibility isn't an issue... Now the Paul Smart Ducati on the other hand.. The fairing mounted mirrors look very fuzzy at cruising speeds...
  6. If I need to see something in my rear view mirrors at speed, I just pull the clutch lever in and unwind the throttle briefly. Everything clears right up. When I feel that I've seen everything I need to see, out goes the clutch and twist goes the throttle....
  7. What's missing from the Video.... A Side of a bus... And a little Brake Fluid... Yes, I noticed it was low....
  8. Some squids in Wichita Ks last week.... My guess thats a Buell under all four of them.... All Guys... Can You say? Nut to Butt.... I thought you could....

  10. No Animals were harmed in the making this post.
  11. I know I could. However, this is the dealer and MG's thing. The bike is nice and dry in a heated shop undercover. I'm not paying storage on it and it gives me a little room in my garage. Let them store it for me. I'm working on the Jackal and can ride the Ducati. However, the weather isn't the best here right now. So ALL is good... I work in aircraft manufacturing and I know there is something out here in the plant I can make work and probably last an eternity.
  12. I went out this evening to fire the bike up.. Damn cold blooded. I think there is still residual bad gas or crud still somewhere. It popped and banged a little. Just some slight backfire through the Throttle bodies and exhaust. Once it was warmed up, it idled better and seemed to have better throttle response. I found an oil leak while it was running. The banjo fitting on top the crankcase that feeds the cylinders. I may try to tighten it before heading out after more crush washers.
  13. Cool thanks. I'll look into it. The Jackal will probably be just my bar hopper. I want to replicate a bike I had years ago, but with a little more comfort in mind. I'll spend more coin on the Sport now that I have another Guzzi to ride.
  14. Damn Guys, One at a time.... LOL Wow. Excellent information. Going from last to first: Yep its a Bosch Injector. I used to have a noid light that plugged in years ago. Somewhere between divorce, selling tool box and moving, who knows where its at. So I used a test light probe. It flickers fast but you can tell it's pulsing. It's definately water in the lines. However, since I replaced the lines that only took care of part of the restriction. Ontop of the injector is a cast 90* fitting that is attached with a couple of collars and a snap ring. I remove both injectors and removed those fittings from the top of the injectors. Well I'll be dipped in Shit and rolled in bread crumbs, those fittings were so full of SH!T. Spent the evening cleaning the fittings and reinstalling everything. Wow. What a difference.l Damn thing runs wonderful. This Jackal might actually see the light of day. Thanks for the help fella's. greatly appreciated.
  15. I got the Jackal home the other day and rode it around the block. I knew it was going to need a lot of work. It was just shy of being a basket case after further inspection. Here is where I am. I went thru and replace all the Fuel, PCV lines etc. Replace the Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter. However, I have a miss. I've got spark but no fuel on the left side. I'm guessing the Injector is bad. However, without swapping them from side to side, is there another method to verify. I have voltage to the connector but no fuel. The bike sat for some time. Even the pintle valve from the tank to the pump was rusted stuck. What's the chances this injector is the same way. Any input appreciated, even if it's moral support... LOL Thanks, Richard Z.
  16. I could tell better if, I had one to ride...
  17. Well, It's home. I have about $1100 out of pocket. Clear title and I had the mileage wrong. 4181 miles. Not 9000. The taillight bracket has been bodged and the Rear turn signals need some help. There are no side covers as expected. I rode it around the neighborhood. However, I need to add some air to the tires. It need fork seals desperately and the Ignition switch replaced. No key for bike. 1st owner lost them then found them after breaking the ignition and seat tumblers. No rust in or on the exhaust. Needs a battery looks like the fluids need changed. The tank has some scratches on top of it but no dents and it has good gas in it and no rust. It has been sitting awhile and needs TLC. I'm thinking of disassembling and fixing and powdercoating a few things. Along with repainting the tank. The same color of course. the fenders are in great shape. A few of the aluminum pieces needs some polishing. The fork seals have leaked long enough to discolor the fork tubes. So those will have to be powdercoated when putting new seals in. It got dark here fast and I only was able to snap the one camera phone pic. Thanks for the tips fella's. Greatly appreciated. Now the long process of learning about the bike before tearing into it. Richard Z.
  18. Even with the single disc, I'm sure it will out ride and perform the 2002 Big Dog pitBull I've been riding lately... BTW, being the lazy folk that I am, what's the source for the replacement relay's Brand, Part #'s... I know. Go look them up myself. LOL
  19. I have my eye on a 1999 Jackal that I am doing some haggling on. It's missing the side covers (silver painted) but other than that its a running motorcycle with minor wear and 9000 miles on it. I haven't ridden it but will do so in the next week or so. Long story, but I reworked a 92 GSXR for this kid. (carbs, tune up, chain, sprockets etc.) About $700 worth in repair. Just speaking with him I could possibly boot him another $500 and ride the Jackal Home with clean title. What should I start looking for etc. Clutch, Brakes, Ignition, mechanical etc. Your input is appreciated. thanks, Richard Z
  20. I have a Black EXO700 that is comfortable enough and I have my Chatterbox attached to. However, I always seem to reach for my Old AGV GP1 when I go riding. Something about the Scorpion that I haven't figured out yet, it always seems to feel loose or padding has squished after a long ride. It fits tighter than the AGV when first put on, then just seems to feel bigger after wearing it awhile. My AGV feels the same no matter what. Kinda like an old pair of socks.
  21. Should they have to replace a lot of speedometers? If the dealer had the correct knob I'd be riding it. LOL "Resolved the correct way?" I guess my dealer is referring to not gluing the part on. I guess I come from the old school, If it has threads machined in it, it must attach to something that accepts the threaded part. Thanks for the heads up on the epoxy. To me, sounds a bit flakey for a repair. Maybe they are thinking the same way. If they had the information that this is the proper repair condoned by MG or the right person telling them to do it that way, then I'm sure that's what will be done. I'm not sure who the Email came from. Sales Rep, parts, etc. They may not even know the guy wasn't kidding. I'll drop in tomorrow and let them know you, brought this to my attention. I sure hope the oil drain plug has threads along with the pan.LOL As I said before, I'm not losing sleep over it. It'll get resolved one way or another. Oh well, I'll let them deal with it. Took the Duc out today. 51 degrees here. Let off the throttle bit hard and came down a little fast. Reinjured my left thumb again. Still figuring out the physics of keeping the front end aloft. Not....
  22. Yes, Correct. The knobs that have shown up are left hand threads. Except, the speedometers there are NO threads at all. Typical. Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing... LOL BTW, I was molesting the V7Classic on the sales floor and noticed, Its gauge, Instruments, clocks, are the same as the gauges on my Ducati 1000LE Paul Smart. Only difference is the Ducati/Eagle logo's. Richard Z.
  23. I'll try to keep this short. Nov. 29th 2008. I took the Sport in for a 2 year service, tires, brakes etc. Along with that, the Odometer had quit back in July.. Woo Hoo. free miles... My Dealer, great group of folk's and in no way this is any of their fault. Ordered the parts in August to have them ready when I brought it in. OK. Right Speedometer, however it didn't come with a trip meter knob. 1 month 3 speedo's and 4 knobs, still nothing that will work or remotely the same. Here is the funny part. One of the speedometers odometer shaft is not threaded and one of the trip knob is, but will slip over the shaft. After several emails from my dealer to MG's sales rep etc. MG USA recommended JB welding that knob onto the speedometer's tripmeter shaft. Remember, this is warranty work. JB weld the knob onto the speedometer? Wow! Just Wow. of course my dealer refused this as a proper repair. Anyway, I just couldn't believe when I read the email from MG USA to do this to fix the problem.. I'm not griping or bitching. Just thought it was funny. Eventually they get it resolved the correct way. It just gives me a reason to ride the Ducati for a while... Oh BTW, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year... I will. I will be getting a Guzzi with ZERO Miles on it... Richard Z.
