  1. Enjoyed the race. Stoner is very fast, but often looks like he's right on the edge, while Rossi only goes there when he needs to. Thought Stoner had learned that...but dunno if it was that that brought him off - looked to me like he was trying to lay down a marker, seems he lets others affect his riding too much. Spies looks great, like a spider, when he learns which way to go, he's going to be very fast I reckon. Would have been good to seen Hayden on the podium, but looks like he's getting the hang of the Ducati at least. Hondas are missiles in straight line - Hayden had to get last corner drive perfect - & didn't look like he did to me, Dovizioso just got better drive. Watching Honda & Yamaha into corners, Yamaha seemed far more planted, Honda looks hard to ride in the twisties. Slavomir, I don't get to see WSB but bottom line is MotoGP is best riders on fastest bikes - ask Ben Spies. I thought it was a pretty good, exciting race to watch, seemed to be over v quick, I was shouting at the telly a couple of times, strong overtakes, great braking duels - it's always good to see someone, overtaken by a faster bike on the straight, getting it back on the brakes... Sorry to hear you're still getting car bombs going off there BFG, thought it'd all settled down. Hope you & yours all good. Welcome back Big J. KB
  2. B*****s! - don't matter what you're riding - if you wanna race RACE! Racing is only racing when machinery is evenly matched - doesn't matter what level. Good luck to anyone racing a Guzzi. Mind it's 1st April....
  3. Not sure what's in links Jaap has pointed you to, but if info you need isn't there, let us know & I'll talk you through it. it's pretty straight forward. KB
  4. What are the symptoms we need to look out for?
  5. sounds like you're missing the old fool already. aaahhhhh. kb
  6. And Jaap, remember to note alignment of the shaft - marked w yellow paint if it's like mine. KB
  7. I was hoping it would be the clutch cos at least then it'd be something we knew about.... It always concerned me that Guzzi chose to completely redesign the (new to the) V11 6 speed box for the latest generation bikes. After all, it's usually a job they do every 20 yrs - makes me wonder what they knew. Let us know what you find John. Made me think this tho - people pop up on this forum over the years - I've never met John & maybe never will, but seems like he's an old friend. Thanks for providing for that Jaap. KB
  8. Hi John, Sorry to hear about this but glad you're OK. Have you checked the clutch/flywheel isn't culprit? 65k miles is highest mileage I've heard of on a Scura clutch. As I recall, you're still on the original? Good luck. KB
  9. Well done to the lad, congratulations! KB
  10. Here's to you Tex hope they can take a joke wherever you got to.... So long old bean. KB
  11. 170 & 180 are recommended tyre widths for 5.5" rim. 170 tyre will improve steering feel on turn in over a 180 of the same type, but it's not that simple. I think a 170 on 5.5" rim will have slightly less lean available than a 180 as it is more flattened profile. Also some of the best handling/grippiest sports tyres are not available in 170 size. Different tyres have different profiles = steering characteristics & I have found Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's give good steering in 180 size. Certainly equivalent to less sports orientated tyres in 170 size. 160 is designed for narrower rim - profile will be distorted when stretched over 5.5". As has been said, get the smaller/earlier V11 wheel to use this tyre - I did, tho I never got round to fitting it yet. Not sure what's available in 160 size. For now I'm happy with the 180 2CT's on the larger rim. KB
  12. Sorry to hear that. Glad you're OK. KB
  13. Reference: Quiz 2010 Repeated requests to be awarded a point as the supplier of the correct answer to this quiz have been ignored. I have been the butt of cruel jokes, my purpoise has been distorted & it has even been suggested that I was being puberal. But my quest remains... pointless. KB
  14. GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK TX !!! KB
  15. That has certainly proved to be the case in the quiz forum.
  16. Your bang on with that. There was a man called Richard Feinmann who was a great man - to paraphrase him: the more I learn the more I realise I don't know - well it wasn't probably any of those words he used but..."Surely You're Joking Mr Feinmann" - worth a read. KB
  17. I'm sure our "understanding" would help you accept yourself, but think of the pain & distress you must have caused the poor hamster.
  18. The sentence should start with a capital "E"? KB
  19. Looks like old "four points" is running scared. Today I'm 3 points, tomorrow it could be 4 - who knows where it'll all end? KB
  20. Sounds to me like Ducati forum got it right - this is a MOTO GUZZI TECHNICAL forum, take the political rant elsewhere. KB
  21. Yippee! Thanks Belfast. You are very kind, but I'll only take the one I earned. Congratulations on the award. KB !!! \/ \/ \/ \/
  22. This thread seems a little ... pointless. KB
  23. Can anyone confirm how many pipes Guzzi fitted here? ASFAIK my 02 Scura only had the one pipe fitted, with one fitting left unconnected. Workshop manual only shows one pipe, but then it only appears to show one fitting also. Could be different markets, could be only used on US bikes w charcoal gubbins? What's yours got? Thanks, KB
  24. Anyone got a picture of Bellagio rolling chassis or frame they could share? So why didn't Guzzi export Bellagio to USA? Seems to me there hasn't been Guzzi executive doing joined up thinking for years. KB
