  1. I agree, they do sound like the Williamsville risers.Try this link: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...l=williamsville I've had mine for over a year - really like them, along with a higher (MRA) shield.
  2. That shows how dumb I am - I thought that the tassels were for a leather halter top.
  3. In the toll-crazy Northeast, the EZ Pass is a poor but somewhat convenient solution to digging for change at a booth. The problem is where to put the transponder (I know where I'd like to put it!). Inside of my jacket, the device would work at some booths and not others. I did buy a mount from a Harley dealer that bolted to the mirror but I had to cut the rubber boot to make it fit (plus it looked fugly hangin' out there). I've searched for mounting spots inside of the fairing but nothing looks real good yet. Anyone have better luck than me?
  4. The sexiest woman to ever walk the face of the earth - my all time favorite. (what bike?)
  5. Kinda funny that the article omitted car, SUV, and truck drivers. I guess that they don't have the same problems with age as us ancient motorcyclists.
  6. Man, That's gotta be cost efficient! What do they get for a speeding ticket issued from a 'copter? $2,000?
  7. Dolph - go into "search" on this forum and put in "passenger". There are several threads that may give you some more helpful info about two up on the LeMans.
  8. For our 40th Anniversary, my wife and I did a Beach's two week tour of Norway. The scenery was spectacular every day, traffic was minimal, the people were really nice, and we never had anyone ticketed in our group (even though we were often over the speed limit). Norway is expensive but, in my opinion, well worth a visit. Dress warmlyand bring rain gear!
  9. When I came back from three weeks of sun and fun and tried the WildGuzzi website I got the "page cannot be displayed" message. Did something change?

Dave, The thing that I hated most during my 30 years of private veterinary practice was euthanizing pets (including four of my own). I've seen grown men (including myself) break down and cry like a baby at the loss of a fine companion. Savor the great memories of Duchess and enjoy your current crop of critters to the fullest. 11. Read the road not the signs because signed limits are only a warning. We all have probably gone hot into a 25 MPH turn that had a decreasing radius. Man, does that get the adrenalin pumpin'!
  12. My last good read was Shadow Divers. It's about the discovery of an unidentified WW II German U boat off of the NJ coast. The SCUBA dive is over 200 feet - about the limit -and a few die trying to find out why this boat was there in the first place(true story). A well written book in my opinion. Two Wheels Through Terror isn't too bad if you're into MC adventures.
  13. Let me add my Seasons Greetings to all of my V11 friends. No snow in New Jersey so I can don the Santa outfit and ride the Rosso around town this afternoon. Ho Ho Ho.
  14. Tony, I'm glad that I'm not the only one to do something like that! Reminds me of a friend who was looking for an item that went down the drain. He carefully removed the sink trap, didn't spill a drop, and then dumped it's contents into the same sink. BTW I fill mine to the top third of the sight glass.
  15. Has anyone had missed shifts between 5th and 6th gears (both up and down) on their 03 LeMans/Rosso? That's the only place that I have had any problem and it's very sporadic. Maybe it's just my ancient toes.
  16. My wife and I have done some short two up riding on my Rosso. In my opinion, a Rich Maund dual seat (that won't allow the use of the cowl) would be the way to go. Even with a gel pad and a sheepskin, the stock LeMans passenger seat wasn't real comfortable for any length of time according to the bride. But then again we're in our 60's and damn near everything is uncomfortable after awhile!
  17. Last year I faced the same dilemma and I wound up with the Rosso. Even though I don't ride very "spirited" anymore I felt that the suspension upgrade was worth it (plus I liked the looks).

  19. A mechanic friend once told me that batteries start dying the day that you buy them. If I have more than two years on a battery and it starts acting up, I simply buy a new one. I think his observation is right on (this is especially important in an outboard boat when fishing offshore in December). I have witnessed, several times, batteries that read 13 volts and yet don't have enough amperage to light the tail light. Moral - don't mess with an old battery!
  20. Stay tuned. I just finished straightening out the cable end and I replaced the inner cable using an auto parts universal kit. The sheath was well oiled and the cable coated with lithium grease. If it works I'll keep the new replacement as a spare (if it arrives). If it doesn't work I'm buying a Ducati ST3.
  21. Thanks for all of the cable input. My 03 Rosso's cable quit at 5,000 miles right at the bend and I don't want to spend the coming years replacing speedo cables. Once the cable breaks, does the spinning broken end ruin the housing (common sense would say yes)? If not, the inside wire is cheap but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to square the ends if you just buy cable and cut it. Finally, is there any preferred lube? I see that Teflon products get mentioned. BTW although this is still a warranty item, the time and expense of getting to my dealer (190 miles round trip) and then finding that the cable is on order isn't worth the cost of buying a new cable - but it's still one of the neatest motorcycles I have ever owned!
  22. Had exactly the same problem on my '03 Rosso and was equally miffed that I bought a brand new bike that didn't run smoothly. The PC III totally corrected the problem (but IMHO Guzzi should have installed it- or something similar- in the first place). I cannot remember ever buying a new car that had a built in "stumble".
  23. I've had the Guzzi rack and bag for about a year and now I can't live without it. Lots of room with the zipper system. My only complaint is that the aluminum doesn't match anything else on the Rosso (as someone's wife pointed out in another post). Maybe a dark grey powder coat some day.
  24. I thought someone posted the torque settings for the oil drain bolt, transmission drain bolt, and rear drain bolt but I couldn't find it in any of my searches. Any help?
