  1. Well I finally decided to go for a Rich Maund rebuild. Since I had a family function in Norfolk this past weekend, I contacted Rich about dropping off the seat. You will not find anyone easier to work with than Rich. I dropped the seat off at his house on Thurs PM and picked it up on Fri PM. If any of you can get better service than that I'd sure like to know! Today I did my first test ride and the difference is real! If the stock seat is giving you some grief, give Rich a yell. I now think that the ergos are where I want them.
  2. You might want to look at the Williamsville risers. They go on in about 10 minutes - no new brake/clutch lines. I have about 400 miles on mine now and really like the extra height (I also have the Evoluzione peg relocators and a higher MRA windshield). It seems to take awhile for some of us old fussbudgets to get the ergos where we want them.
  3. Here's a photo of the 180 attachment. I got mine at an auto parts store but I also saw the same item in ServiceStar hardware . Sorry that I can't remember the mfgr.
  4. I seem to remember that somewhere in the windshield thread there is a V11 Forum member who is selling them. I bought mine used from a Forum member.
  5. Daniel, MRA in Germany makes them. Check out this V11 Forum discussion: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...6&hl=windshield I have one on my bike and really like it (along with Williamsville risers). I'm 5'11". Ralph
  6. Well, I just lubed the front U-joint in about 5 minutes with the bike on the side stand. Following advice on this forum, I bought a 180 swivel attachment for the grease gun and attached it to an 8" section of flexible tubing (using a female-female connector). When the grease fitting is at the top of the shaft you can feel it with your finger by reaching down in front of the footrest plate. Then the grease coupler can be threaded through the swingarm tunnel and guided onto the zerk. Thanks to this forum for making a seemingly tough job pretty easy.
  7. My hugger was obtained used (from MPH) and was about $150. I had a friend clear coat it. They are around $240 new. Installation took all of 5 minutes - it fits right on (4 screws). The original fender can be removed in about the same time.
  8. Check this out: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...&hl=rear+hugger
  9. Baldini, I swapped rims with Joe Camarada because i wanted gold powdercoat. It seemed easier than getting my rims done and at 64 I'm not a performance freak.
  10. Baldini, I'm running an Avon 46 - 170/60 on that rim. It seems to fit fine and the handling might be slightly better (but I'm no metal scraper). So far, I like the Avons.
  11. In my case, that was true - all you need is the wheel.
  12. Ditto. The 4.5" wheel bolted right into my 03 Rosso.
  13. Thanks for that info. I'm 175 lbs and ride conservatively so I unloaded the forks and rear somewhat. I would agree that the extra cost for MG Ohlins doesn't seem justified at this point I'll keep Pro Pilot Racing on file.
  14. Hey Dan, what problems are you having with the Ohlins?
  15. Hey F344, could you please describe exactly what you didn't like about the stock seat? Thanks.
  16. So does Julio break in his engines with dino or synthetic?
  17. Especially for something that is virtually hidden from view. I did look at this option but finally opted for the MG hugger (found one used). Hey Al, wasn't that an old rock song - "whole lotta dough"? ( maybe that was "whole lotta love").

    Jacket

My favorite jacket is the Rukka. Problem is they are hard to find and are not cheap.

    Best helmet?

Of the many helmets that I have used during the past half century, the Arai Quantum is by far the most comfortable. Highly recommended.
  20. Is that the carbon fiber material on the Maund saddle and has the shape changed from stock?

    Handelbars

After months of meditation, I finally decided to bite the proverbial bullet and order a set of Williamsville risers. Stay tuned for another first hand evaluation.
  22. I got so wrapped up in that film that when it was over I had to do an underwear change!
  23. Probably the best $15 accessory that I have ever purchased. I'm 5'11" and needed a little more leg room. The entire job took about 30 minutes and gave me that little extra that avoids leg cramps. At my age that's important.
  24. My Rosso Corsa had an annoying hiccup/cough at about 3,000 RPM and also ran sort of ratty when going slow in first gear. The PC III cured the problem so I love it! I suppose the ECU could have been remapped but two different dealers told me that wouldn't work very well.
  25. Dumb me! The shop manual said nothing about removing the caliper even though it looked to me like the wheel wouldn't come off with that in the way. I'm beginning to see why everyone is less than enthusiastic about the Guzzi shop manual. Thanks to all for your input.
