  1. Sorry, Maybe I wasn't clear, My point was that the stock braking system is MORE THAN adequate for the average (and +) street ride. I DO believe if the owner is happy, NO ONE else matters. I just meant that I've spent WAY more than I had ever spent on a bike... AND it was TOTALLY worth it Per my last Post: "EVERY UPGRADE is FELT by the guy who loves his motorcycle" N'also, BUY at a LOCAL DEALER/SOURCE, when feasible, SUPPORT your LOCAL tax base...
  2. Van, been here a bit now... ...You, Sir, are a freak... ...NEROS RULE! Luv, S.H. P.S. EEEHWWwwwooo, I think just "pooted" my first post/load on the "Tenni Forum"...is there a emoticon for "shot across the bow"?
  3. MOST of my bikes were two drums, "Hands JUST BEFORE feet for maximum braking" style Now, with the stock braking system, I use 1 finger all the time, 'purt near all the time... but I STILL WANT the RBC lever...I paid OUT THE BUTT fer the Ohlins package (and I ride solo, so NOBODY cares a wit "about the BLING, [whatever THAT is? [to sub-text even further...]...and there's alot of somebody else's $ in motor upgrades...EVERY UPGRADE is FELT by the guy who loves his motorcycle...God/science, Nature/Nuture, Ying/Yang...take yer pick. Alas,Docc, I probably can't make it, but it sounds like a shitload of fun...
  4. Between the the sheer speed, scanning the distant foreground in an attempt to identify possible problems, and trying NOT to line the inside posterior portion of my leathers with my previous night's intake of tacos al pastor and homebrewed dark Porter, I didn't take a tachometer reading Man, things seem to fly by WAY FASTER at those speeds. 100ish seems positively sedate compared to my outing yesterday. Now I HAVE to try this again, just to get that tach reading, then I'll stop this sort of nonsense...I can quit anytime...Really, I'm not a addict. Just ONCE more, then I'll quit...right after this one, then NO MORE...
  5. Went out for a ride today. For the first time since I've bought my bike, I pinned the throttle in 6th gear. I don't know what the true speed was, and I know our speedo is said to be "optimistic". Either way, she was still winding up as the needle bounced off the pin that marks "140 mph"(225 kph)
  6. I think the only other major mechanical differences between the Nero and Tenni are: -A double plated clutch and 9.5:1 piston compression ratio for the Nero -A single plate and 9:1, plus a seat SO UGLY that MG was forced to throw in a second, for the Tenni. Also, not certain if the front exhaust X over came on any Tenni's. Oh,and IF my bike EVER goes up for sale, it would likely have to be by "my estate" NEROS RULE!!!
  7. If that was the bike they had on their "current inventory" page, it was a missprint. I bought the bike almost two years ago, but they forgot to remove it from that part of their site. Too bad, because you were on the right track. Man, I love that bike like no other I have owned so far... Being the most coveted of all the V11's, they are tough to find. Keep at it, and Good Luck
  8. Personally, I love this photo. Very reminicent of Monet's "Contrast's in Light and Dark"....in a motorcyclelyphotonotimpressionistpainting kinda way... ...Sorry, I'm still stuck on the concept that the V11 Sport/Le Mans is One of the most beautiful pieces of kinetic art EVER produced. And "Just lookin' good" wouldn't be enough, but for the ride itself...but you know that. That's why yer here. :wub:S.H.
  9. Didn't even open that...Man, I do not WANT to know!!!
  10. Both the jump, AND the RETURN are completely insane! His hand was bleeding real good! P.S. st. augustine, that '77(?) RS looks fuxkin' NEW from here, love it!
  11. , only I used anti-seize with a little copper in it. And this doesn't mean it runs exactly the same, but I am such a ham fisted troglydyte I don't notice any major differences before and after.
  12. Reading the article, "Vintage Race Days" from newest "M/C Classics" when I see on pg. 60 there is a Cafe Sport and rider in a shot of a line of bikes. Anyone we know? The story is set at the Road Atlanta race track in Braselton, Georgia. I saw a Nero Corsa featuered in a riders wear ad in "The Robb Report" about four years ago, now this? Every where you turn, you see 'em... Sports, another LeMans...unique ain't what it used to be, eh?
  13. Just wanted to let the interested know, there is a Nero for sale at Fast By Ferracci's. Is it your time to put your name on this list?
  14. Furk, Now I've got the "grok"?... FIGURES... P.S. Liquid cooled 4's are MACHINES...Air cooled, push rod activated engines are Living, Breathing Things...

    Scura R?

The Scura R, painted basically opposite from our BOTM (Black with red stripe), Red seat, and Ohlins equipped. I was just wondering, whilst sitting in -16 degrees F and blowing snow, if anyone here has actually had or seen one. The info I read said only 4 were being made, and staying in Europe. A random search here brought nada. Just bored, and wondering...
  16. This summer I stopped for a burger and a few "road-pops". A HD rider arrived to meet a group of other HD bagger riders. One of them says,"Did you bring your new bike?" His reply, "Yeah, it's parked out next to that piece of JAP CRAP..." Mine was the only Non-Harley in the lot!

    Hi everyone

Hey Black, this is a great site indeed. Welcome, any pics of yer ride? See ya 'round, S.H.
  18. Also, you can take a flashlight and look right down the hole where the dipstick goes and see the plate, and the oil itself. Now fill it till you are almost to plate level (with bike on sidestand) and insert stick without screwing it in and mark that on yer stick. Now you can check it fast and easy forever. Really, if you now stand the bike up to level and check your newest mark, you will see there will be almost no difference between stood up or on the kickstand. I also put on a sloppage plate last year, after I saw my oil light blip at alot of my usual spirited take-offs. It is as easy as hell to do, I have not seen ONE oil light since (even when somehow the front wheel gets this weird "floaty" feel for a few seconds...) and I too swear that my motor seems to wick up just a little bit quicker than before the "the fancy shim" was put in. You should just do it, it does work, period. Later, S.H.
  19. Just read in a magazine that a dry two plate clutch has the "sound of a chronic masturbater with marbles in his pockets."
  20. SFSig, Great to hear the report. Now, after the bike has sat overnite, check the battery before you try to start it. Should be at 12.7-12.85v to confirm that you are properly charging. I don't know exactly why, but these bikes need the resting voltage higher than previous bikes I've owned. THEN, check your voltage drop when you crank it over. As a side note, do you crack the throttle at all when you start it? I found a small "roll" as I push the button really helps on mine, and have since seen threads where this seems to be a concensus, regardless of the fact that a fuel injected system shouldn't need this. What the hell do I know, this bike is purt near 30 years newer than ANY bike and most of the trucks I've owned! (I'm kind of a luddite) This a great site indeed, so do buy Jaap a couple beers, especially now that he has another bike to feed...
  21. Very similar to my 1977 BMW R100/7's "Havana Gold". I called it "Burnt Pumpkin"
  22. Are we talkin' a oily liquid molybdenum additive?, or a tube of moly paste, used for assembling motor components that will then stay lubed for a long period of time until the first fire-up and the regular motor oil starts doing it's regular thing? (...of course you could also try "Redline Shock Proof Heavy" and forget the additive all together, I love the stuff so far...)
  23. DAMN!!! I can't believe we've got WAY over 300 replies (22pgs)?!?!? on plunking holes in some little rubber bits ... ...and barely 3x that on the "HOOTERS" thread...God bless you little freaks, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! S.H.
