  1. I suscribe to CafeRacer magazine and would recommend it to any of the others on this site. They have just finished a 3 part segment on tricking out a new V7 classic. By the time it was done I coluld see myself on one.
  2. Isn't there a FAQ for this? "Harper's, Moto International, etc. etc." - did you even try searching this question? It comes up constantly... It may be in the FAQ, but situations change, owners change, the internet has changed things. I was looking for dealers who currently offer excellent mail-order parts service. If my question bothers you, please ignore it. But it must be hard to pass up a chance to set some idiot like me straight, huh? MotoInternational, Harper's and try your home state. Eish's in Salineville,Oh. is who I deal with.
  3. I have the OEM rack on mine. I can't remember if I got it here or eBay. I am satisfied with it. The one ponti_33609 posted from MGCycle looks good too.
  4. All that owner needs to do now is paint the tank green & the sidecovers & running gear white... And top it off with 6' of dirt..
  5. A wrong choice of words... Skeeve.... Tell us more about GSXR forks. What year, size, etc...
  6. Have it totalled, keep it & fix it...
  7. In the meanwhile, search eBay for a tail section or find a GOOD welder who you know can or has a wire feed welder. Believe it or not an exhaust shop can probably do a good job. It will be up to you to dismantle things to where it can be welded. Disconnect the battery before welding or you'll be sorry.
  8. Remove the rear wheel, use a 6 point wrench or socket to break it loose. You can then bleed it easily.
  9. The best gasket sealer is a product called Hylomar. It was developed for Rolls Royce for their engines. It is the best gasket gooey I have found. You can reuse gaskets many times with this stuff. p.s. I use NO silicone sealer or silicone lubricant on gaskets. They can "creep" from underneath the parts and slide out.
  10. Find a driveline specialist to look at the driveshaft & things you are questioning and get their opinion on this .
  11. They should fit.
  12. CafeRacer magazine did an article on the V7. They replace the exhaust, installed a PC,etc. and got a good h.p. increase..
  13. If you want to buy them I'll sell the extra caps from mine. I think the issue is more then the fork caps. I need the adjustment screws and i'm not sure what else. Are you just selling the caps? The caps wil contain the adjustment screws.........
  14. If you want to buy them I'll sell the extra caps from mine.
  15. I trust you I was just cracking a joke.
  16. Buy them. You will love the sound.
  17. I don't think these need "service", just TLC.....
  18. So? You haven't lived until you see your bike fall over right before your eyes ,then give a harangue so filthy Chris Rock would call the cops on you. don't ask how I know. p.s. when you remove the second fork cap the front suspension IMMEDIATELY colapses. This action takes place best on dirt bikes with long travel suspension. Or when you're carrying your Sportster motor out of your livingroom to your truck, over newly fallen snow, only to find that your roommate has placed CERAMIC TILE (?!?!?!!!) at the front door as a door mat. This causes you to have your feet INSTANTLY shoot out in front of you, and the motor lands on your chest, bounces off and hits the concrete, busting the cases back by the transmission. But your chest hurts so bad you can't yell at him anyway, much less yell obsenities. Just alot of that clenched teeth seething, mixed with the sound of gasping/sucking air...It is probably too early to recognize the signs, but YOU are starting to exhibit them, "Motorcycle Madness". When you consider either hauling your bike up the elevator, or lifting it by rope and pulleys with a homemade yardarm on to your balconey, it will be TOO LATE. I know, I've done it...Friends will be a big help. Not cause they will assist you with vast expanses of knowledge, but because all of you can assure each other that this type of behavior is completely normal... Also, mayonaisse in the place of oil pert near always means water got in there, in my experience, and that so called confidence is usually born of trying it, effin' it up, and keeping on till you get it right...Good Luck, keep us informed, S.H. did you make this up?
  19. Our prayers are with you & yours....... Please let us know if you need help ($) . Living on the New Madrid fault line I am aware of what you experienced. We have tremors (occasionally) here and they give you a sense of awareness you never knew. Keep us posted. Gene
