  1. i've used the Oxford First Time ones along with the First Time tail pack. Have found that you have to have all the straps running over the top of the seat unlike the instructions which states that for safety and security two of the three connecting straps run under the seat . The seat pan on the V11 makes this a total pain. I have used the tail pack more than the panniers and have had a long weekends worth of clothes, camera equipment and walking boots in it. Get your bike down to a local hein gericke or one of the other bike gear shops and try a few for size and ease of fitting.
  2. Hi Dave I not a Guzzi Club member so don't get the mag. Are you able to post the the pic/page from the mag on here. for some reason Louise seems to think that it's my job to clean and polish her new bike cheers Helen. all we have to do with the bike is to get it restricted for Lou's licence
  3. cheers for the info Guy, Louise was getting a bit disheartened with her Ducati and we saw the Bonny on ebay yesterday morning( had only been listed the night before). comes with standard and loud pipes, standard and solo style seat a triumph workshop centre stand an a set of cafe style bars. Gentleman was only going 1500 miles a year on it. it looks nice so hope this will bring her confidence back. i tried one along with a scrambler from cobb and jaggers the other week while my bmw was being serviced at jefferies and had a right good time.
  4. My girlfriend Lou has got herself a new bike today, tried to get her on a Guzzi but she has had a liking for Bonnies for a while now.
  5. that can't be right, i'm sure those roads are supposed to be rivers as always, great pics bfg
  6. Welcome to the forum, nice looking bike you've now got and in a great colour too.
  7. The workshop manual pictures show the that the nuts holding the cam cages are the nuts for the cylinder head bolts. So it looks as though the cylinder heads may have been knocked and the the cylinder head/crankcase gasket seal broken. Hope you get some joy from the dealer and Guzzi about this. Trevor
  8. Hi Dave, Would have thought that metal gaskets were once only use, as they are usually of the crush type and so form to the metal they are crushed between and form a seal. For what they cost, it would make sense to change it if ones been loosened. But it sounds like this may not have been done. Further tightening the bolts could cause damage to the cylinder head or stretch the bolts themselves. I've just had to have the timing cover gasket on my Mandello replaced as it was leaking. I'd tried tightening the bolts around the leak area but to no avail. The timing cover gasket is a thin metal type with a central ridge which forms a seal when it's compressed. The problem was that at speed the oil was running along the length of the sump and ending up on the rear tyre which made for some interesting handling.
  9. Congratulations on getting such a great ride . I'd look at getting some new tyres though if it's still on it's originals.
  10. Thanks for the great pics BFG , roll on the 2010 rally
  11. Saw this posted on the ADVrider site and thought i'd share it here
  12. Congratulations on a great looking bike and welcome to the forum.
  13. I think so, maybe one for main European V11 Rally and one for the UK V11 gathering so as not to confuse things
  14. You set the bar very high with your site BFG, I think it will be very hard to match. A trip to the continent and then the IOM later in the year
  15. cheers David that's a great bit of film
  16. "80 year old green haired guys" love it
  17. Had a good look on the ITV site and there does not seem to be any of the TT on the play back section
  18. Fantastic stuff. John McGuinness saying he slowed down on his last lap so he could enjoy it still seemed bloody fast to me And the clip of Gary Johnson on the No.1 bike in take off and landing mode, how do they manage to stay on. The IOM be a good place to hold a V11 meet
  19. Mines No. 20 Don't know which run of 300 mine is, i presume it's the 2nd as I have the Great Britain flag on the side plate I've got these as well, Did all Mandellos come with them?
  20. Some pics of mine on the front and rear stands. Front one I got off Ebay from a company in Germany and can be converted to a normal front stand as well. The rear one is a Micron which has been forced a bit wider to fit the Guzzi swing arm.
  21. you should be able to find the parts manual here as well
