  1. This is me being dumb again but I'm not sure i understand the question, the filter is still on i just remove the cover over it and see if It's still tight,or am i missing something here and no i don't lose any oil. Stu
  2. So this might be a dumb question and I've heard about the hose clamp thing for the filter and having to drop the sump plate "Blah Blah" which seems like a lot of work and I've done my oil change a few times since owning the bike. So here's the thing whats the matter with just pulling the cover over the filter off and checking it once in a while which is what i do with no problems so far,I'm no Mechanic and there are people on this site with more Guzzi knowledge than I'll ever have,"Just wondering". Stu.
  3. Hello Pete I am interested in purchasing one of your plates if you end up having time to get one ready to ship. Just purchased a 2001 rosso mandello. Thanks Randy Ditto what he said Me to,whats MPH?not miles per hour obviously.
  4. Stu, the 'new' springs were made with wider diameter spring coils, presumably so that they would work with the variety of sizes that the MG pawl arm comes in! Therefore you should be ok to just fit the spring. The best thing would be to measure the parts when you do the job, to be sure that they do work freely together. If you do find that you have the oversized part and that you do need or want to get the original 'proper' spec (because the spring looks tight when fitted on it and operated) then you can either file down the part that you have, when you are doing the job, or put together the bits that you have, order a new pawl arm and then fit it later. OK Belfastguzzi I think I'll give it a go. Thanks Stu.
  5. Thanks Mr Monkey i think I'll give it a go and worry about the Pawl arm later, have my 91 GSX 1100G on the road right now after i moved the INSUR over from the Guzz, now It's down needing a bit of welding on the frame,so down to my 04 KLR now if it springs a leak i guess I'll have to slit my throat. Stu.
  6. Ok i was through both those HYWs two years ago i also did the Merrit to Spencers Bridge which me and the Guzz enjoyed very much no traffic and the hammer down, can you say Heaven. Now this Pawl spring thing i do have the new one to go in from M.G.Cycle,I'm not what you would call a Mechanic but will attempt most things if not to complicated,I'm a little worried about the boss supposed to be 1cm to thick on the 2002s,"IE"16 but should have been 15cm correct,so do i somehow get this fixed or chance it with the new spring. Thanks Stu.
  7. So where do i get one of these updated Pawl springs and do i really need to replace the Pawl arm? Thanks Stu.
  8. I've had my 02 Le Mans five years now and and It's been good to me so far,but was out for a spin and was gearing down and nothing,it went into neutral but the neutral light is not on,stuck between gears? I managed to limp home when i found a gear,i have the foot control relocation kit bought off this site from i think his name was Ryland and has worked OK so far but when i got home i noticed the nut on the gear linkage rod had backed off,i pulled the rear shock res'ervoir and starter motor to get at the linkage and tightened everything up but It's still appears to be in neutral with no light on,would this be the pawl spring issue? Apology,s for the long winded post any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Stu
  9. I understand there are only 150 tickets so best to snap em up quick when they go on sale. Ladies and gentlemen from outside the UK don't need a ticket and can pay on the gate but let me know if you are coming for sure and I will inform organisers. Guy Wish I'd known about this sooner,I'm in British Columbia Canada and have a 2004 Le Mans and this would have been a good trip to make as I've been thinking of shipping it over to the U.K. to do some riding in Europe, and my Sister lives in Newton Stewart which is right close to the rally,I'm booked for Mexico in April so no way i can make it,maybe next time,"Dam",is this event held every year? Stu.
  10. :notworthy:I bow to ya, thanks for explaining! now I know what to call the engine dressing on my '02 Lemans lol I have a 2002 V11 Le Mans and my engine didn't get the POX so can someone explain a Y or a what for this so i can sleep at night without wondering if and when this might happen to mine,Tanks.
  11. I think that's what you expected as far as the replies go "Yes",and i agree with what most people say that we don't want to screw around with the old motor which is what Guzzi is,having said that the New water-cooled motor if it ever arrives should help to get a few more G Gee's out of the old girl "Maybe"!and might get a few more people into whats left of the dealers all-though the V Rod hasn't done anything for Harley. I was in a dealer in British Columbia this summer and he still had a Norge on the floor that was there when i bought my 2002 LeMans, not from him, at the end of 2007 and they still want almost the same price for it "Go figure",ultimately Guzzi will always be a boutique motorcycle maker as in MV,Moto Morini,Benelli,Bimota,so where do you go from here, maybe God knows i don't. Stu.

    Norge.

Merry Mixmaster to all. So i have this friend who is looking into purchasing a Norge this one is a new 2009 going at a really good price,"Soooo" there seem to be a few leftovers around and I've seen a few on Ebay for sale barely a year old or so,what i want to know is does anyone on our V11 site have any insight as to why there not selling to well and what are the known issues if any,i know It's not one of our bikes but it is a relative and it is a Guzzi, just trying to help a friend. Thanks Stu.
  13. Steve i realize It's a classic rally but not everyone has a classic bike to go on so does that mean they should not show up at the rally after all they probably just want to look at bikes just like you or I,sounds like the Cafe Calabria doesn't have a great reputation for service or food whats your take on this?and when is the Vashon TT held inquiring minds want to know. Thanks Stu.
  14. So can someone explain just how i go about finding out if it is the spacer "IE"what exactly I'm looking for,is it the width of the spacer,or how it's mounted, and what is the measurement between the bearings supposed to be,thanks in advance. Stu.
  15. Just did 3.200 KLms on mine around British Columbia Canada also,(i live here),the funny thing is my riding partner was on a DR 650 duely talk about Mut and Jeff, the Guz ran like a Swiss clock almost,my rear wheel bearings went again, put new ones in last year,i know this is an issue with these bikes but only getting a year out of them is a bit much. I to spooned on a fresh set of Pirelli Angel tires on mine before i left, what a difference from the Bridgestone 020s that were stock, can you say confidence inspiring,i looked for the twistiest roads i could find and with my Techno side bags Ventura top bag and tank bag loaded to the N*^s the Guz never missed a beat,God i love this bike if only i wasn't 65,it should be illegal to have that much fun at my age. I was nearly home when my oil light came on also after some hard miles so my question is are the windage plate and the Roper sloppage plate the same thing and if not where can i get the windage plate and is Mr Roper still making his,as for your foot controls there was a chap on this site who machines a new setup which moves the controls forward for a more comfortable riding posi'tion which i purchased along with his oil pressure gauge kit in anodized Gold "Bling",i can't remember the name offhand it was Tech something, his post name was Ryland i think. Stu.
  16. In the grease nipple myth topic i posted a pic of the one i modded,"Just for your information",more people might take a look if directed to it,or Not. Stu.
  17. This is it the swivel head filed down a little, and now for the pic I hope this works! It did I'm a freekin Genius,"Not". Stu.
  18. I put the months Centerfold in mine with the wiring diagram underneath then the maps, works for me. Stu.
  19. I agree with Ponti all that talk about removing this and that i did what he did get a swivel head grease tip file it down a little be careful i over did my first one and have at it,fiddly yes but a lot less hassle than dismantling the rear end,i can never get pics to this site but will endeavor to do so as i have a good shot of said grease fitting. Stu.
  20. I've got one on my 2002 Le Mans i do have mine secured by the tank bolt but with the seat on and no bolt i don't think it would be going anywhere,as for the straps just run them under the top spares of the frame and your good to go. I don't see any marks or imperfections forming on the tank, the only problem with my mine is the main zipper to open the the bag is starting to give me grief other than that it's been a good servant. Stu
  21. What are you talking about untested motor,Rotax has some of the best four stroke motors on the planet Bar none and do lots of development work for other manufacturers around the globe. Who do you think did all the development work on all BMWs motors for there 650 duel sports and there new 800s,not to mention how many lite aircraft have Rotax motors in them and on and on,Rotax is actually owned by Bombardier here in Canada, excuse me for getting my nikkers in a knot,my 2 cents. I feel better now Stu.
