  1. Sand is bad for all things mechanical. But it seems his attention is diverted.
  2. I like the beach girl on the custom frame, after all, her skirt has less material than my gym socks.
  3. Only here would people be discussing the frame variations instead of the hot chick. I mean really?!
  4. In truth, two out of th In truth, I can't claim to "own" more than two of those three. But isn't that the whole point of the photos? Here's another fine picture.
  5. No other pictures? Don't any of you own a camera, a cycle, and a woman?
  6. I ran across a pic I hadn't seen before, so I thought I'd share. Please add some more.
  7. The MyECU aftermarket ECU is fully programable. You can change almost every engine or map parameter. http://www.cajinnovations.com/MyECU/index.htm
  8. Let me add to the thread, with a picture of one of my assistants.
  9. Great ads. You don't see anything like that anymore.
  10. I've had good luck on Ebay, using a deep and through search. To get some Superseal connectors I had to go to Ebay Spain, and also UK (I'm in the USA). The vendors here would only sell them wholesale.
  11. On Ebay there are generic lithium motorcycle batteries that are cheaper than lead at the retail stores. So cost is no longer the deterrent.
  12. The lithiums have been such a mixed bag, even the big name ones. My lead battery is due for preventative replacement, so this I winter I'll be bold and replace it with a cheap Ebay lithium. They are so cheap it's easy to experiment.
  13. I've been thinking of switching to lithium, but the reports here in the USA are mixed. I never thought of buying generic ones off Ebay. I took a look, and the prices are great for no-name batteries. Amazing. But the fear of being stranded somewhere make me hesitate. Anyone else want to chime in?
  14. Yea, just like my '58. It's a mesh screen, right?
  15. Wait, I recall hearing that the newest thing with some BMWs is that they don't have fuel filters at all. Something about the gas is so good nowadays, blah blah.... Not sure if it's actually true, or just loose talk at the pub. Actually, my BMW doesn't have a fuel filter either, until I added it. Didn't have an oil fitler either. But it's a 1958 R50. Funny how things have come circle.
  16. Here's a friend that was helping my out with my V7 Classic a summer ago.
  17. This lass is helping me change the air filter on a V7 Classic smallblock. As you can tell, she doesn't like a dirty engine.
  18. The weight is an issue, at least for me. The battery sits high on the bike, making a weight savings especially valuable. My V7 Classic needs a new one, and I'd like to go lithium, but it seems that the technology is still in the learning phase. Any more experiences with Li batteries?
  19. Honda and BWM make special spline lube. Also "open gear lube" is good, as it has the tackiness not to be thrown off the splines. Can also use standard auto grease. The splines are usually dry, so even regular grease is huge improvement.
  20. I'm happy with the MyECU I'm running, so I'll stick with that. But...I wish this was around years ago, before I spent so many shekles on a VDST.

    MyECU

If you remember, I sent my MyECU unit in to be tested, as it wasn't working. To Cliff's credit, he replaced it with a unit from one of his bikes. This unit is so much better than the kit one I built. It's professionally made with surface mount technology. Quality. I'll be adjusting the map for better operation over the next few months as Winter closes in. Emil, take a look at the MyECU forum. It's active, and these units continue to be developed. I and others post there often as we discuss the best ways to adjust the maps, use the Android bluetooth, etc.

    MyECU

Despite the pain and trouble, I still prefer the kit. Not only does it make the price competitive, but it gives MyECU an appeal that can't be matched by the other devices on the market. There's no other ECU mods that really gets as hands-on, down in the trench, as a MyECU kit.

    MyECU

Hi all. I'm on my second MyECU kit, as the first was accidentally toasted when a contact fell on the battery's pos terminal. Ouch! Just finished my 2nd kit, but it's not working. Aargh. I asked on the MyECu forum, but have not gotten a response. In essence, although I'm getting the correct voltages at the D1, the left legs of the FETs all show 8.7 volts, when they should be a 0. Does this point to a specific issue for me to address? MyECU offers such promise, but such work. I wonder if I should give it up for more modern fueling solutions. Thoughts?
