I do know the tank fuel tap fitting has been unobtainium new for quite a few years. Ciao

Didn't say it was a bad deal, in fact it looks like a good deal. Just saying that it would be wise to crack check it before use so you have the opportunity to fix it before getting it together and installed if it is cracked. A crack test should be on the list of things to do if you ever have the gearbox out of the bike these days I think. Ciao

What I think is it's "early doors" in a 21 race season and Pecco is a bit of a sook. Miller has a much bigger reason to complain but took it on the chin publicly. Ciao

Personally I'd invest in a Dye check kit and learn how to use it. My gearbox that I stripped and reassembles was cracked but not visible to the naked eye and showing no signs of leakage. I dye checked it found the hairline crack and weld repaired and re enforced the area and stress relieved the other mount areas that are stress raisers. My original gearbox isn't showing any signs of cracking or leaking either but you can be sure I'll be dye checking it in the future to be sure and then removing the stress raisers before any further use. Yea I see the suspicions created by the image but I wouldn't conclude it's cracked 100%. Worth asking the question. Ciao

I watch the BSB on Eurosports and they have adds in the middle of races and you can lose 5 laps of the race. The classic was once they went to an add break and the last 2 min of the break was a "famous last lap battles" from a WSB race about 15 years ago. So these complete morons at Eurosport thought it would be a great idea to lose about 2 laps of a CURRENT BSB race to air the last lap and a half of a 15 year old WSB race you can view on Youtube any time you like, WTF. Is Europsport run by 15 year olds or something! Ciao

So what forks did you install the Andreani units in? were they originally damper rod forks? black or silver stanchions? Year model? Andreani don't list carts for the earlier 99-2000 models I think due to the axle bracket fitting internally suited to the damper rod style fork. Ciao

Any details on the maxton units? They might also be an option for me. Ciao

I was wondering how they sealed these spoke nipples. So blind nipples with an oring on the OD that seals in a bore hole in the rim. So what 36 spokes/rim x 2 rims = 72 spokes and orings with matching rim holes, made in Italy. What could possibly go wrong, lol. Ciao

I always pull the fuel pump fuse if I'm going to cycle the ignition switch a few times for whatever reason during maintenance work. Nothing to be gained by continually squirting a shot of fuel down the inlets every time you cycle the ignition switch. Ciao
-
Yea, even after you rebuild them with new bushes and seals they do that under the conditions you mention. The fuel just puddles in the inlet tract when cold and without the vacuum it will drip out. The seals also don't seal 100% without a differential pressure across them. That's the disadvantage of the vertical throttle blades. Ducati's dont have this issue with their horizontal blades. Can you see what a great idea it was for Guzzi to fit the TPS on the bottom of the L/H throttle body on the California's! What were they thinking. Ciao

Sorry it was our member in Brisbane with the modified bike with the funny seat. Can't think of his name at present and I'm off to the gym. Ciao

Wasn't trying to correct just clarify docc. It's just a bit confusing if you're not aware and revolutions can be mixed up with rpm. Ciao

Crazy talk. Ciao

The ecu reverts to/applies the Start Enrichment trim on every start irrespective of the engine temp or OAT for 3984 engine revolutions, note not RPM. So it tapers off counting down from 3984 to zero revolutions of the engine until it reaches zero enrichment. It's why you cant realistically adjust the CO and hear/measure it's effect for around 3 minutes after starting the engine unless you hold it above idle rpm to reduce the time. Ciao

Yes they look good and almost certainly what I'll be using. Someone here has fitted a set a few years ago, Pressureangle I think. Only for 01 onwards bikes though. If you want to fit them to the earlier 99-00 bikes you'd need to remove the calliper/axle mounts and machine them internally in the base I think as they don't have a flat base for the cartridge to seat on. So in effect they fit any model V11 Sport Non damper rod forks. Ciao

Yep. In reality nothing. It's the result of the architecture of the cans. Made my bike sound like an old Norton Commando fitted with Peashooters on the overrun. Couldn't stand it so bought Agostinis. They also have that suck back moan sound on every gear shift like a Morris minor 1000 used to have when when shifting gears when I was a kid as well which I dislikes. Mini 850's did the same. How to make your V11 sound like a cross between an old 20HP budget British car from the early 60's and a British twin motorcycle from the same era. Horrible. I really like the look of them but I couldn't live with the note. Leave the DB killers in and save yourself the embarrassment. Ciao

First thing I'd be doing is checking the pump inlet filter. Ciao

Even less. I just bought a new one for $45au with a new concertina hose and wiring plug. Ciao

A million times better Ciao

Yea that look better. Ciao

That's the Mistral mufflers. I ditched them for that reason. I'm afraid I have to say that rear hugger is horrible. I've seen those before and cant imagine why you would mount a rear hugger like that. A rear hugger needs to be mounted close to the tyre or it looks weird. I'm not totally in love with my hugger but it looks more rational then the Ghezzi Brian effort. What were they thinking. Ciao

Personally I find these easier. https://www.bunnings.com.au/qep-jumbo-wedge-tile-spacers-250-pack_p6821949 Ciao

Yep, a fully sorted package and all he's had to do in the pre season is work on Gelling with the bike. He has 2 years worth of data to pour over and no development work to worry about. I think Ducati has loaded up their works riders with so much development and parts testing after a 2 year technical freeze it's been detrimental to their first GP. Pecco never really got the front feel he needed and the race crash was the result. It's a long, long season though with 21 races. Remy Gardener got in the points in his first GP. Outstanding.
