  1. I just did the paint thing and Chrysler flame red PR4 is really close for a stock color you can buy by the can or touch up paint.
  2. Search the forum here. He has got it nailed! The price a year or so ago was around $1,000 US
  3. The guy in Scotland, The Tank Shop, has the jig and should be able to produce one quicker than that. He has done quite a few now.
  4. Docc is right on as I just bought mine.
  5. I just got one of John's kits and am totally happy with it. Now I am not even sure I need to raise the clip ons any more so I have stopped working on that project. The filed brake lever I am not sure I understand as your existing rubber goes on it and the shifter toe piece? I like mine, didn't stare at the postage on the box and it was packaged fine. I think once it's on you will calm down. And as for service this ain't the 50's any more! Have fun with it!!
  6. Yep, that's the same factory style one I am trying to mount. Just not CF. Wished it was.........
  7. Yep, I found the manual and you are correct. The Scura actually bolts to the frame but the Rosso Mandello is the fairing I have and bolts to the forks. Have the parts on order. Thanks
  8. Most of this stuff doesn't work in tests done by the mags? I buy ethanol free 95 octane unleaded for the bikes at the same place I buy 110 leaded race gas for my Alfa.
  9. Anyone know of an online 2001 V11 parts manual for the Scura and Rosso Mandello? I want to see how the front fairing is mounted to either of these for mounting one to my 2000 Sport. Thanks
  10. Looking for a plastic rear seat cover for my Sport to try a different color on it and a Cafe or equivellant headlight to fit the Cafe fairing I got. My Sport headlight is too short at the front to get the headlight flush with the fairing. Need more extension from the bolt hole forward. Thanks
  11. Well, I blew off work this morning and did the right side swap out. Jacked the bike up with the rear wheel barely touching the ground and removed the old faded one. Measured the swing arm bolt and it went right back in. It took a little jiggling to get all the bolts back in with the weight of the wheel still on it but really not a big deal. It was amazing that all around the swing arm bearing there were tiny particles of sand/dirt whatever. It's like it's making this stuff as it was exactly as I had read in other posts? I also bought the foot peg relocation kit from moratech and got that on. Need to ride the bike to make a decision of this but they look okay on the bike. Will see.....
  12. I am starting on mine this weekend so I hope it goes simply! With only 2,600 miles on my bike everything around the chops is perfectly clean but I will be careful. Bought a new Harbour Freight aluminum jack last night and was able to use the 20% off coupon they sent me so that was nice. More expensive than the steel one but I can actually lift this one with no strain! I built a wood platform for the oil pan and started on each side with a 1x3 verticle that rests on the side bolts that hold the oil pan to the block. Then flat pieces of wood under the oil pan all on 1/2" plywood. My question is if the 1x3 idea on the side pan bolts and flange is a good idea? It looks like it is a good place to spread force too??
  13. Here is the thiefs response to my email. Google flagged it as supicious even! I deleted the site he listed to contact him at. Goes by the name Caleb M. Hello, 2004 Moto Guzzi LeMans is still available. 7,400 miles. Bike is very clean and nice. Runs out nicely. For more details please contact me here: http://2004motoguzzil........ Have owners manual+tool kit. Photos show condition. Great bikes, I have personally owned several older model Moto Guzzis they make great machines, tons of torque, fun to ride and rare to see on the road.
  14. Here's one in silver. You can reverse search for this guy for your questions? http://www.kanoa.com/moto/guzzi/index.html
  15. Maybe, funny because I will just drive right up there to see all of his princesses too!
  16. I sent an email as it's maybe 150 miles from me and my buddy wants one. So I would have to chose between my red frame and this before I tell him I found a bike for him. I think I will keep the red frame though.
  17. Has anyone on the board tried the GPR exhaust? I like the look and probably the sound too. Curious what effect it had on performance. With the weight savings just neutral is a benefit.
  18. I might have the Rickman thumper together for this but I could haul my 39 MAC down. Too far to ride that one. Is there a website for the meet?
  19. I forgot another question. Since a lot of the rubber has shrunk it has a small seep around the shifter shaft. Do I have to take the side cover on the gearbox off to replace this seal or can I grab it with a hook and pull it out. Thanks everyone!
  20. I am pulling them beacuse they have faded to a nice pink...and although my college age Daughter likes Pink, I do not care for her..er them? And yes Docc a lot of reading this forum has me prepared to measure! I did also look over all the connectors and this bike still looks like new. You can tell it may have been out in the rain once and never slept outside. Put up dry and tucked into bed. Lived a life of leasure.
  21. Nice to be back online! So I took the tank off last weekend and replaced the breather hose, fuel filter and intake rubbers cylinder to fuel injectors. Cleaned everything up and bought new hose to get the tip over valve aimed correctly, re-glued all the heat shielding under the tank also. I found why my tank is buldged out on the left side, the hose from the pump to the filter was sticking out too far with an electrical connector between it and the frame. So a few zip ties later all fixed. Didn't find much other out of sorts as the bike only has 2,600 miles but man is that tank heavy even empty! Long term if I get more into modification maybe an aluminum one is in my future as my buddy did on his Ducati? Going to leave the tank dry and take the pork chops off next and without the air box that is a lot easier. After that new tires. I got a fairing from a V11 cafe and although I will have to make top mounts for it the fit around the headlight is not very good. Anyone used one of these on an early bike and made any mods to have it fit better. Other than hacking up the fiberglass...ouch, which may not be a problem if I am going to paint it silver? The fairing is too far forward and the headlight is sitting back in it about 1/2" too far? Thanks
  22. Wasn't there a kit from Guzzi that included Ti silencers, aluminum intakes and pods along with a new ecu? Did they know something or was this pandering?
  23. Thanks Toby for the advice. I will give them a go when I get a power commander and exhaust so they can all be dialed in together. Have a guy near Decatur with a dyno who maps bikes. Look forward to meeting you, maybe in the Fall in Italy...Texas that is?
  24. Well the tank comment was if there wasn't enough wire to turn the triple clamp over but it seems there is so on with the dremel! I ordered the FoMoCo hose as on my race cars I have had really good luck using coolant hoses for all types of stuff. These things are pretty indestructible. Also have a Wix filter coming so getting close to removing the tank. I ripped all the vapor emission tubbing and the canisters out yesterday and with the battery out and no gas this thing feels almost light! Now if I could just figure a way to make it run this way Thanks everyone!
  25. So has anyone used the coolant hose long enough to know it holds up longer than the Guzzi part? About the same price as the MGCycle price. Got another, I bought the Rosso Puro triple clamp that was on the for sale board and want to slap it on.......but, what's the accepted practice for removing the ignition switch with the theft proof bolts from the triple tree? I have a guess but I don't have the tank off yet??
