  1. I put a new bulb in it for now and all works just fine. Not too worried about the contacts as I am about to take all that crap off and put LEDs in.
  2. Doh, didn't realize it was a dual filament bulb....one of the filaments is fried. Thanks Docc!
  3. Is it normal not to have the brake light running dim as running light? I am working on a tidy tail projects and realizes the the only light that is constant-on on the back end of my bike is the license plate light. The brake light and turn indicators work great but shouldn't the brake light run dim all the time?
  4. I will say that after a few days with the swing arm stand I would prefer to have the pegs and stand designed for them. Getting the swing arm stand set properly is tricky...it has the urge to slide forward on the swing arm and resting up against the bottom of the muffler. Its a learning process.
  5. Im not seeing how thats so? The weight of the bike is sitting on the plastic covering either way. Maybe when I go to remove the rear wheel I will find out but it seems like it would not be a problem. I will say the CG lift looks nicer and more professional than the HF one. CG also offers a front stand and HF does not.
  6. Just changed out the gear box and rear drive with the Lucas stuff so Ill report back soon enough.
  7. I had to wrap the stand blocks that touch the swing arm with duct tape after 1 day but thats what I had hear would happen. Here is a pic of my v11 on the HF swing arm stand. It really helped in changing the gear box and rear drive oil today.
  8. Nice work, very similar to what I am thinking about fabbing up. Leaning towards these parts: License plate light - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Super-White-LED-License-Plate-Rear-Light-Motorcycle-Slim-Flush-Bright-SportBike-/121142618817?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c34a9aac1&vxp=mtr Brake light / running light / with turn indicators - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tail-Brake-Signal-Function-5050-LED-Strip-Bar-Light-For-Universal-Motorcycles-/360987047576?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item540c813698&vxp=mtr Turn signals - http://www.ebay.com/itm/4X-Motorcycle-Universal-Black-LED-Turn-Signal-Light-Indicator-Blinker-Lamp-Amber-/171668189892?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27f838b2c4&vxp=mtr I really light these turn signals but I am kinda cheap...http://revivalcycles.com/collections/for-your-ride-bestsellers And this to make the brake light flash - http://revivalcycles.com/collections/for-your-ride-electrical-components/products/motogadget-m-stop
  9. Here is a link to the Harbor Freight stand - http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcycle-swingarm-rear-stand-65620.html It was relatively simple to spread it to fit the V11, its not that heavy duty but hold the bike just fine. I can see where I will be needing to wrap the pieces that touch the underside of the swing arm as the stock rubber type wrap is not great. They do offer one that works with the pegs that you have to purchase separately and mount to your bike. For the money, this one works just fine. Its my understanding that they used to have a stand for the front as well but apparently they don't offer it any more. Cycle Gear offers a front and rear stand.
  10. Good to know, thought you needed something to change the full power like the turn indicators. Revival has a dual element circuit for $7 - http://revivalcycles.com/collections/for-your-ride-electrical-components/products/led-dual-element-circuit or there is this http://revivalcycles.com/collections/for-your-ride-electrical-components/products/motogadget-m-stop which will create a flashing effect when braking which I kinda like.
  11. Ill get a pic up of mine in the next day or so. To make mine fit I laid it on its side and pulled up on it to spread the legs apart just a bit as the stand was too narrow for the V11 swing arm.
  12. Anyone use the Lucas 80w 90 heavy duty gear oil? http://lucasoil.com/products/gear-oil/gear-oil/lucas-heavy-duty-80w-90-gear-oil Think ill be filling to the bottom of the window as well, I get the same seepage as stated above.
  13. Those look kinda cool. I am thinking about doing something similar to Waspp's setup except I want to put the plate up under the seat rather than have it hang below the brake light. I found a single LED that I can mount under the seat area to light up the plate and stay legal. I think this will look cleaner and those pesky toll road cameras won't be able to see it... . In March here in Texas they are doing away with inspection stickers, you will still have to have an inspection done as it will be required to get your yearly registration sticker. I hope to have this setup ready to go when the law changes. Right now my inspection sticker has to be visible from an officers point of view while moving.
  14. I just picked up a swing arm stand at Harbor Freight, with the 20% off coupon it was $25. I did have to "manipulate" the stand a bit to fit the swing arm but it works just fine.
  15. Just pulled it all apart and think I can make this happen, thank for your help and pics. What about the brake light, not sure if you can just replace the relay to make that work? Thinking about a brake bar with the LED light bolts to light up the license plate.
  16. After thinking about it I think I can fab up a bracket very similar to that one, may give it a run this weekend. Did you just run wires from the new relay to the plugs on the original flasher relay sockets?
  17. Thanks for the info, wonder if he still has any of those brackets? Looks like the thread is a couple years old.
  18. Did you just replace the flasher relay or did you have to add load resistors as well?
  19. There are lots of threads about General maintenance on here but the instructions seem to be scattered about. If you can help please provide step by step procedures to oil change, transmission fluid change, etc. please provide in a reply. Pics are a plus! Think step by step basics with fluid capacity and type along with filter recommendations.
  20. Did you have to add resistors to make that setup work?
  21. That's very close and looks sweet. I would like to relocate the license plate down low and really clean up the tail end.
  22. Charging of a phone or something similar is not an issue if you hook it directly to the battery. Just make sure to unplug whatever is plugged into the socket when you are done for the day.
  23. Has anyone made the change over to LED indicator lights? I like the look of the smaller turn signals and brake light plus they are brighter than the stock lights. I am thinking about fabbing up a license plate holder and attaching it down by the rear axel and getting rid of the stock license plate holder and brake light mount. Id like to add add a slim brake light in place of the old and change out the turn signals with something a little more sleek similar to this: http://revivalcycles.com/collections/for-your-ride-bestsellers/products/flexible-led-taillight and something like this for the turn signals: http://revivalcycles.com/collections/for-your-ride-bestsellers I understand that I may need a capacitor for each set of lights but want to confirm this...has anyone done this mod? Thanks in advance
  24. I have one under my seat, makes charging stuff super easy. I don't run a GPS that I can see but do use Motion X on my phone with a set of Jaybird earbuds, gives me turn by turn directions....Also allows me to listen to Pandora.
