  1. Ill let ya know when it arrives and I get it installed. I actually think they are the same kit but for some reason motointernational lists it as a kit to improve speedometer cable life. The directions are the same and include the original part #04768300.
  2. I found that on TLM and emailed them to ask about shipping. Its the same part that Moto International sells but at over $100. Has anyone made the switch? Edited: I just ordered the part from TLM.
  3. So my speedo stopped working over the weekend and I thought it was the cable....not the case. Turns out its the 60* angle drive that comes out of the top of the gear box. I contacted Harper Moto and they say that the part is discontinued. I did find one on Ebay but am not sure if its the correct part...looks very similar but no part number listed. I did find a replacement that is supposed to get rid of the angle drive and wanted to see if anyone had any experience with it. Available from Moto International - http://www.motointernational.com/store/speedo-cables-drives--parts/kit-to-improve-speedometer-cable-life Any input would be appreciated. If not, I may be providing input.
  4. Awesome, Ill be in Edmond on Wednesday then back to Austin on Friday. AF1 party is Friday night...Bautista is supposed to be there, prolly headed the Handbuilt show on Saturday. Ducati Austin usually has something going on during the day on Friday that you may want to check out. 6th street sucks, hit up 4th & Colorado or 2nd street. The new deal is the JW Marriott on Congress...loads of restaurants and bars. GA is the way to go for me or Haywoods hill, hung out with some Guzzi guys there last year. Its private property that overlooks the track. If anyone is looking for tickets I have a lead on two primo reserved seats with a parking pass about 50 yards from the main gate for all three days at $395.
  5. Anyone coming to Austin for Moto GP? If you have not been you are missing out big time! The weekend is full of really cool stuff including The Handbuilt Show. If you don't know what it is just Google it.
  6. Congrats on tracking the culprit down. Have fun taking the dash apart to get to the lights, take note there are little black washers behind each of the 4 nuts that hold the back on. Id suggest removing the three screws that hold the dash to its mount and watch out for the three toothed washers in between the dash and mount....getting them back in is the trick, I had to use a bit of vaseline type lube to hold them in place so I could remount the dash.
  7. I may need to give that stuff a try, I do have a definite weep....
  8. I just put the Lucas Heavy Duty 80W-90 lube in mine and I "feel" like it has smoothed out the shifting a bit. Its available off the shelf right down the street at about $8 or $9 per quart. http://lucasoil.com/products/gear-oil/gear-oil/lucas-heavy-duty-80w-90-gear-oil
  9. I looked at those and many of the reviews are mixed saying that it doesn't hold speed well, whats your take?
  10. Found this on YouTube and give it a try....it works! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXk9WeVgxUo Installed on my V11: I went to Fastenall and the guy there was nice enough to give me a couple industrial strength zip ties. The first on went on too tight so I cut it off...I should have picked the lock and removed it. The second one went on just right...its lose enough to rotate around the grip without issue. Ive used it a few times and it creates no issues when not in use. My right forefinger and thumb have a tendency to go numb on long rides and I was looking for a solution. I adde the foam grips and that helped but the only real solution is a couple good shakes off the grip. I don't grip tight and can only figure its the position and years of wrenching and smashing my hands. The cruise control options are limited and don't get great reviews. The zip tie works like a champ and was free!
  11. I found this which may help you run down the bad relays if that is the case: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17317&hl=%2Brelay+%2Blist&do=findComment&comment=185213
  12. JRD, thanks for the compliment. The pipes and crossover were done by the previous owner. There was also a Power Commander installed so I assume that the ECU was remapped.
  13. Make sure your battery leads are tight. I had a similar problem and it was a simple tightening of the leads.
  14. Yep, it has the pad and yes, it is painted to look like carbon fiber. It was built in early 02 but the title says 03. The paint job was done by the PO and whoever did it left the Moto Guzzi stickers under the new paint so you can see the outline and still read it.
  15. Sounds like is not getting full power, as fotguzzi suggested, check your leads and make sure everything is clean and tight.
  16. The brake tank seems to be working well. So far no leaks and no issues. The listing didn't say Rizoma so I was kinda shocked when it arrived. I will keep an eye on it, thanks for the info. I bled the rear brake and clutch last week...The clutch is a beotch! Im going to guess the same engineer that made the rear drive shaft zerks so accessible set up the clutch bleed valve....
  17. Thanks, I followed your lead Scud with the tanks. Ordered them on Ebay and I gotta say I cracked up when the brake reservoir arrived. I think I paid $18 for it and it came in a Rizoma box and was labeled made in Italy with Rizoma on it. Took the original mount and cut it down and painted it, baked it, then mounted it up and all good to go. I do need to bleed the brake lines down so I have fresh fluid but for now its all good...no bubbles. I really like the bar end mirrors but one of them has a semi-loose ball socket so it won't stay put. I tried using blue thread locker to put a coating on the ball but no dice. Ive emailed the seller to see if he can make it right.
  18. Top center on mine is the blinker indicator...only one light indicating when the blinkers are flashing. If yours is the same and you go with LEDs let me know and I will help. If you have two blinker lights then you should be just fine. And the NASA assistant is my son, he goes to NASA camp every summer in Alabama...much smarter than me when I was his age. I do need to do a better job at teaching him, he was about to step down on the shift lever thinking it was the brake....
  19. Lets see it this video link works: http://vid564.photobucket.com/albums/ss82/mreecer/IMG_3535_zpsdquk1abt.mp4
  20. Finally finished up this project along with a few other additions but for this thread I will stick with the tail. I ended up purchasing a M-Wave relay which gives the LED turn signals a wave type pattern rather than a flash. I had purchased a relay off of Ebay that I thought was broken because when I first hooked everything up all four turn signals would flash rather than just one side or the other. Turns out that since the MG has one light on the dash that blinks when your blinkers are on and the LEDs draw so little power I had to splice in two diodes and ground the dash board indicator light. If you want more info on this I am happy to help. Short video, the license plate is up under there... so it says I can't use that extension... Ill try it another way soon. Profile, looks much better without all the stuff hanging off the back:
