Bikes, cars and trucks named for (special) places

Recommended Posts

Wow! Extra credit on that alpha-numeric translation. :thumbsup:

E36/7 is BMW's production designation for the Z3 based "roadster."

Sadly, I can't find a single place name in my vehicle history, so had to resort to histrionics.  :rasta:

While splitting lanes to LAX today, I saw a Subaru Outback, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sedona... lots of SUVs named for special places. But Ford names them for the journey, not the destination: Expedition, Explorer, Escape...

Adding to my earlier post about adventure bike names, there is the Cagiva Gran Canyon (I'm assuming they left the "d" off Grand for style-points)

Heh: yeah, they look "related" . . . :grin::thumbsup:

Closest I can get to a "place name" in my vehicle history? Honda Pacific Coast.  :sun:
