How has that performed as an investment?

In other words what did cost in 2002, what would that be now taking inflation into account?

Edit. Just did a quick check, $1.00 in 2002 equals $1.36 now.

6995 ÷ 1.36 = 5143

So $6995 in 2017 = $5143 in 2002

( please correct any errors in my schoolboy maths)

$13,000 x 1.36 = $17,680 so only a $10,000 loss over fifteen years!

Perhaps fifteen years of riding memories would have been a better bet.

Seeing as how the bike is 15+years old by now is a zero mile bike a good deal? Would you start to worry about dry rotted seals/rubber parts?

I’d rather have a well cared for machine personally...

But, for the collector.

For myself, the zero mileage bike has the benefit of not being abused. The rubber bits, covers, cables, boots, fuel - oil lines, filters, fluids, etc., would need replaced after that time regardless of miles. I think the best way to find them is 10 - 20k miles, one owner, decently cared for and most important, meticulously stored. This is a great color. An '02 is set up the right way imo. I hope it get's to meet the road.
