Try a search under "saddlebags." I just asked for and recieved a bunch of advice on this topic about a month ago. Thanks guys! FWIW I bought the Givi Arrows bags and am very pleased. They seem very well-made, fit well and easily, and have an expansion zipper for big or small loads. Got mine for $114 US.

edit-- Just looked and my post was labeled "What soft luggage should I buy". Lots of good advice there.

I did not play in the latest round of advice on this, but a year and more of use confirms what I said last summer about my satisfaction with Tour Master Cortech Sport Tail Bag & Saddlebags.

I then said: “I have used the sport version of the Tourmaster Cortech tailbag for one long trip (inconjunction with TMCS saddlebags) on the Ballabio, and use the tailbag everyday for taking in change-of-clothes for my daily commute, whether on B'io or EV. The bag is expandable, tho I find it roomy enough for suit, shoes, etc., that I rarely unzip the extra room ... well, unless Kathi calls with a ‘Would you please pick up...’ Pretty impressed with workmanship and utility. Also looks better than many when mounted. Oh, yes, when I'm not using s/b, i.e., 99% of time, I place directly on pillion cover. And., when used sep from s/b, uses "hidden" bungees to attach. Easily done.”

I’ve done 10K since then, many miles of which included the tailbag. I even used the entire set on my EV along with Guzzi leather bags on my recent, abortive, trip to Maryland last week. To extent visible, you can see ‘em in my avatar, which is a photo of the Ballabio while atop Skyline Drive in n. Va. last October. Great trip; easy packing.

Here is more info from the website of Newenough.com, a vendor I have found to be very responsive:

All of that said, having seen many other products on the road and listened to folks, I think most stuff is pretty darn good. Oh yes, before I (finally) shut up, you might also browse through the RevPak offerings at http://www.revpack.com/motorcycle/main.html

I have the RevPack, Jr., and find it VERY versatile and hardy for both Ballabio and EV.

Well, for what it's worth, I'm pretty happy with the Techno bags sold by Guzzi. I have ~10K miles of touring on them. They faded, they aren't waterproof, and I poked a hole in one of them when I dropped my bike (in the garage, LOL). But they work just fine.

I REALLY like my tank bag. I use that thing ALL the time.

Hey VFish. Do you have the Ti pipes? I have a Scura with the Ti pipes and wonder if the Givis still work with up sweep pipes?

st augustine: I have the Mistral oval carbon pipes. The Givis work fine with them.I am not sure if they are as high as ti pipes or not. One thing the magazine review said about the Givis is that the heat resistant panel on the bottom could be better. No complaints here, though.

Winding Roads in Derby sell the custom-fit Famsa tank bag and other luggage. I got mine from them by mail-order.

Velofish....could you post a photo or three of the GIVIs mounted on the V11 Sport? I have a set of 360 Monokeys mounted on my 96 Honda VFR and really like them.

Just wonder how they would work and look on the V11. Thanks, Joe :rasta:

Joe; Just so we are on the same page here: the Arrows are soft luggage. They are reviewed in the June 2005 issue of Cycle World. PG3A also has a set and likes them; he might be able to get you some pics.

Saw a variety of soft saddlebags at the National and they all seemed pretty nice. Thought the Givis looked the best, though. They came with raincovers, detachable shoulder straps, and two rubber bungee cords. I used that non-slip tool drawer rubber mesh lining underneath and they did not scratch the bodywork or move around on the bike. I mount about level with the seat and there is at least 4 inches clearance to the pipes.

Sorry to be such a luddite about the pictures, but I have webtv not a computer. Good reason, though-- we have dsl at work and some of my co-workers are exploring the "naughty bits" sites. This way, when the shit hits the fan, I can honestly say that I do not know how to work a computer, which I don't. Can't even turn one on. Why the hell are all these married guys such porn pervs!? Christ, don't get me started! I did buy a disposable digital camera for the National. When I fill it up, I will see if some kind soul will post some pics for me. "I have always relied on the kindness of (IT savvy) strangers.

I doubt if there's much point trying to use panniers with the ti pipes in their upswept position. I have Oxford panniers and there's absolutely no space for them. THe height of the pipes means that panniers have to come forward as well as up – then you're sitting on them. Maybe small, shallow panniers will fit, but will they have room for anything more than a set of waterproofs?

If you're travelling solo then the Ventura system seems to work well on the V11 - I,ve been using their system with rack and grab handle for normal riding and it looks quite neat.

I've been thinking of buying the RKA bags, has anybody tried them? They can be ordered in custom colors and on their website they have pictures of their bags on a V11.
