  1. True, I dont think there would be much more than a kilo or so to be save if you replaced every bolt with a ti one on a V11. I use them for their ability to stay looking nice forever. The weight saving is just icing on the cake. Here's the Titanium axle nuts I use on my bike. Next time I have the front wheel off I'll machine some thread off the front axle. Ciao

  2. Got the donor motor home! Now to run a couple quick tests to be sure it will be up to the task. Then tear it apart and reassemble into my block..... I love this stuff haha

  3. Putting Ti fasteners on a Guzzi to save weight is like having a Diet Coke and Rum.

  4. That’s to you guys and others I’m keeping a wish list going. Another bike popped up. Norton Commando that was taken apart to get the frame painted. It’s nickel now (not holding up good) and the owner passed away. Friend of mine has it but I know she’ll never get to it. Of course I’m just now getting my Commando together after an engine rebuild. I’m leaning towards a rideable bike as I always have project bikes.

  6. It could be the shifter stuck on the pivot bolt . My bike stayed down for a month waiting on a spring on this account .

  8. I knew that header would suck you in like an oil thread. My '89 Mille GT is my third big block. I've done little with it since I bought it save install Mistral mufflers, replace the busted up instrument cluster, and give it a basic tune up; timing, valve adjust, carb balance. It seems to run quite well. But it has a lot more noise at idle than the others. It's quiet as soon as you get a few revs in it. Seems worse on the right side. Timing chain adjuster? It's showing just under 37k miles, and looks about right for that age and mileage. The previous owner quite obviously had no clue, as the carbs were wacked and the clutch was so tight it slipped above half throttle. Hopefully it won't need a new one, but I have to put some miles on it to know. Of course, I'll not be able to stay out of it but there's plenty stacked in front of it, and the forum's been pretty quiet so I'm volleying the shuttlecock.

  9. well after gaining some additional knowledge here on crack locations I went back and re checked my cases in the areas mentioned as problematical. The areas in question I had to strip paint from entirely as in the original images you can see some dye check finds I put down to residual paint but I wasnt really looking too hard in these locations as I thought the problem area was the lugs themselves. I wast too happy with what I found so went ahead and blended the step on the r/h side. A somewhat disappointing result I'm afraid as can be seen. I havent chased the crack all the way out so ultimately I dont know the depth as yet. Ciao

  10. So... I wanted to wait until I had something a little positive. While ordering an oil pump gear from Joe Caruso I asked him if he would have any interest in making a transmission input hub that would fit the Ram clutch and he seemed genuinely interested. Before you get your hopes up he is going to confer with his gear guy if he has the tooling. This might be a no go right from the start, but if he does is there any real desire for this hub? To me it sounded like there was but once people start talking money things can change real fast. Some people have made the conversion but I didn't see any real feedback is the Ram clutch a worthwhile mod? I know its too early to come up with a price it cost me 600.00 for the clutch and with the hub it could push the cost to a cool grand for a six speed conversion. Any way just putting it out there still testing the waters. I hope sp838 took some good dims.

  12. Ok good to know. I didnt realize they cracked there as well. May need to do some blending there also or remove the whole corner as luhbo mentioned. Ciao
