For me, I certainly like the lines of the classic bum-stop better.

A drop handlebar Megola for Horror

Guzzi late 20s 500S for Art and aesthetic

Zundapp KS750 for Winter and cold thoughts

A round nose Steib half buried in the front yard for tomatoes and to hide in when the Megola was on a rampage

2.  Vyrus 986M2.
This is actually might be somewhat affordable if you can still get it for the prices that were announced back in 2011
Here is a link to the article http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/news/vyrus-986-m2-pricing/
"There’s a price point for everyone in this launch, as the Factory will cost €55,000 (real race bike), the SL Replica €25,000, and the Replica Kit rounding out things at €16,900" (that is only $18500 in today's money as Feb 1, 2016)

I assume price might have gone up somewhat. But if cannot be bought directly then 2 or 3 dealers in the states will jack up the price way high.

I would go for a Kit cause it would skip a certification issue and bike can be registered as a custom built. (Some states are easier then others. I assume). All one would need is a nice clean CBR600RR engine. I would love to be able to put in GSXR-750 engine in this thing but CBR600RR is a fine motor anyway

3. Bimota Tesi 3D

Its Ducati 1100cc air cooled engined bike. Beatuful machine

bimota-tesi-3d-e-01.jpg

4. Bimota DB7 / DB8 / DB11

Well DB7 has the engine from Ducati 1098, DB8 has extra 20hp and Ducati engine from 1198 and the Ultimate DB11 with an engine from 1198 but supercharged and around 200-205hp

DB7

DB7 Oronero

DB8

DB11

5. Bimota DB5R

This one is a bit more affordable if you can find one. Be prepared to spend around $18-20K and very few in the USA. Bimota has not been brought to the USA since 2008. Only 2 dealers are bringing Bimota into US right now

6. Another Bimota BB3 - New BMW S1000RR Engined monster. Looks really nice but non-existent in the USA

7. Mondial Piega 1000

Beautiful bike with massaged Honda RC51 engine. Pushes around 146hp. This is is very rare and I think only 3 or 4 in the USA

Now to more affordable and more available bikes

8. Bimota YB8, Bimota SB6, SB6R,SB7

And now for Modern machinery

9. KTM RC8R, MV Agusta F4RR, MVAGusta F3RR Agostini, Aprilia RSV4 RF

Obviously some are more affordable then others and some older exotic machinery can be had for a price of a cheap Japanese bike. It's not going to be the latest sharpest tool but who cares. I doubt there are too many people out there who can actually use a full potential of any of these bikes mentioned.

So my moto is actually to be different on the budget. All my current bikes are somewhat unique and they are fast enough.

I am sure I can come up with more bikes but what is the point. I cannot afford most of these anyway. At least till they get aged a bit

I hope they bring the Himalayan to the U.S.

The real deal, designed to wander the world, not just down to the local BMW dealer for service......;)

I do like those Continental GT, but I was thinking more of a "scrambler" V7 Guzzi. Something like this:

(How do you guys get those photos to just appear??)
