  1. I heard from @Jaide today that the fairing part has arrived safely, and is indeed the correct colour.

  2. On a healthy bevelbox the temperature of the unit is going to vary greatly depending on both ambient temperature and how hard/fast the machine has been ridden. One with issues will generally run a lot hotter. As far as ‘Slop’ or backlash is concerned any backlash you can feel by turning the wheel fore and aft with the bike in gear and the engine off will be between the dogs in the gearbox and not the bevelbox where backlash is measured in thou.

  3. Also seeking 2Kg bag of rocking horse excrement and 12 inch length of Unicorn horn. If all three can be wrapped, along with a piece of the True Cross in the genuine Shroud of Turin so much the better……..

  4. There are only 3 differences noted in the parts book between the single plate clutch and the multi-plate. None of those parts relate to the slave or the push-rod assembly.

  5. I also can't imagine why it would have been changed. I went looking. Searching one of the part numbers quoted by Oberon, GU05086330, I got this at Stein-Dinse https://www.stein-dinse.com/de/moto-guzzi-kupplungszylinder-850-1100-1200-breva-griso/item-2-1030607-GU05086330-.html Looking at these parts lists, choose "clutch" from the index, part #13 on the apparently same drawing in all of them, I got the part number GU01086330 on all of them. https://guzzitek.org/parts_list/gb/1100/V11/V11Sport-RossoMandello_1999-2001_062011_PL(GB).pdf https://guzzitek.org/parts_list/gb/1100/V11/V11LM_Naked_2001-2002_052013_PL(GB).pdf https://guzzitek.org/parts_list/gb/1100/V11/V11LM_Nak_RC_NC_Cat_2003-2004_062013_PL(GB).pdf https://guzzitek.org/parts_list/gb/1100/V11/V11LM_2002_062011_PL(GB).pdf https://guzzitek.org/parts_list/gb/1100/V11/V11Cafe_Ballabio_2003-2005_062013_PL(GB).pdf So my opinion: Firstly, it seems that the V11 models did indeed all have the same clutch cylinder. Secondly, the clutch cylinder pictured from Stein-Dinse is listed as being for the "next generation", i.e. Breva, Norge etc., but looks remarkably similar to the clutch cylinder on my V11. So, even though the Oberon part is apparently not specifically listed for the V11 models, I reckon I'd be willing to take a punt on it. If only because it comes in such pretty colours.

  6. Yesterday, I rode Ebbetts Pass for the first time and it might just be my new favorite road. I was on the Stelvio going from Sacramento airport to Mammoth Lakes and it got me wanting to back and ride it on a V11. Then I started thinking about the Sierra Spine Raid idea that I've been incubating for too long. So... I am testing interest in gathering in Mammoth Lakes, CA in early October, when the high-altitude roads are still open and the aspens are putting on a color show. Tentatively October 9-13, with flexible arrival/departure dates. There is a hotel in town with covered parking (not garage). The hotel I'm thinking of is walking distance to my house, which has a two-car garage and can accommodate several bikes. Potential routes include: Ebbets Pass: https://scenic4.org/the-route/the-driving-experience/. << required reading Yosemite Valley via Tioga Pass Short loops around Mammoth and June Lake area Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest Lake Tahoe Sonora Pass Mono Lake and Benton Hot Springs (and search for wild mustangs on route 120) There are plenty of dirt bike trails here too in case anybody wants to trailer two bikes. What say you? Interested enough for me to inquire regarding a small block of rooms?

  7. That's funny, Pete. But there enough hoarders on this site (takes on to know one) that the search has a reasonable chance.

  10. Sorry, 6 parts. 3 were individually available. The rest, including the 3 individually available, were available as a clutch package. Point remains, none relate to the push-rod assembly.

  11. No but there's a bit between the hydraulics and the pressure plate such as the pushrod length, and the pressure plate receiver for the pushrod. Also the clutch pack thickness has a relationship to the clutch slave cylinder travel in both directions. Imagine if the Oberon slave cylinder had less travel to the piston in the released or clutch engaged position. You could end up in a situation where when the clutch plate wears down and the piston is pushed further back into it's bore it bottoms out and then prevents the clutch from fully engaging.. I'd love someone to buy the Oberon unit and fit it so we know if it works for sure. Phil

  12. Thank you all for your help. I want to hold out for factory paper, condition not important as long as it's all there and all redable. Even some tattered pages, kind of like the old gal. If she was perfect, i'd probably be all over the one in Japan. I have the service and parts books, so really don't need the Owner's Manual. As i said, i like factory paper. I'd also like to get an original tool kit... i try to give each of my bikes what they left the factory with. Finding all the factory tools for my '27 Harley took awhile.

  13. Just for info they are still there. Not sure why you get an error but I think the site changes a few years ago. https://www.thisoldtractor.com/moto_guzzi_misc_owner-s_manuals___rider-s_handbooks___use_and_maintenance_manuals.html

  14. Did the Quantum pump fit the rubber insulator that held the factory pump ? M/G did not make the pump they sell , they farmed it out just like all other companies .

  15. Recently, a fellow explained to me that motorcycles are essential to a man's survival, even if they are sitting in the garage just to be gazed upon. His compelling argument? "Dinosaurs didn't have motorcycles. Look what happened to them !"
