  2. Oil breather hose under the tank a likely suspect judging by the pics.

  3. Yep. It's a bugger to get at, the bike has to be mostly naked, but a fairly cheap and undramatic fix. This is the part. I couldn't find it at Stein Dinse, although I thought I bought mine there last year. https://wendelmotorraeder.de/oelschlauch-entlueftung-dick_gu30157400-p-1009234.html?ref=expl When you do your "tank-off maintenance", it's worth considering changing that out on spec. As I said, it is a bugger to get to. The tube gets old and hard, and splits eventually. That looks like your pictures, or if it is the other end (as mine was) like a leaking output shaft seal on the motor. Whilst you're in there, if in any doubt at all about it's integrity, replace it, even if it is not the cause of your current leak.

  4. I did not find any recommendation to your post; I am one of those who experienced the pawl spring let down. It happened around my home base; I was really lucky. I ordered a three coils pawl spring but did not install it. I instead installed a Guzzi part one, with only two coils. The original one that broke did not at the coils. You can go back into this thread, I have posted pictures. I am running a fatigue test, and monitoring the mileage before the spring breaks again. I have set the limit to 15,000 miles. Maybe I will push it to 20,000 miles.

  5. Pretty common on worn linkage is the shift 'foot' lever striking the pork chop on the down stroke. Look for chipped paint and be sure it does not touch. Clean and lube all of it. Look for any wobbly bits. The extender will improve shifting even more, but not if it has other problems.

  6. I'm fresh off a Versys 650 and didn't notice anything.... except 1st being vague. .. that and "WHOA !!! Torque! " especially before getting the clutch lever right. 20 yrs on Guzzis...73 ( tomorrow) and more concerned with pink porkchop and trying to get the bars right. ... hate to go thru putting the clipons on but that's probly whatll take for me to get it right. We'll see... ....I might cut an inch off the existing bars. They're like Super Bike Bars with California type clamps. 1" to 3/4" deal.

  7. Certainly impressive riding. Says a bit about small block Royal Enfields, too. Bill P.S. Had to look up what BSF meant: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Border_Security_Force

  8. Just for the sake of showing off, I've got a set of these: https://www.boehm-synchrontester.de/ I don't expect that they are available in the USA, but who knows. They're fiddly, because one has to adjust the damping on them for the best compromise between "open enough to measure realistically" and "closed enough to stop them oscillating madly". Despite that, I really like using them. Probably because it's fiddly, and you feel like you're being really professional. And they're just pretty.

  9. About two months ago I gave her a service, including solving the wheep from the gearbox exit shaft seal. Discovered the seal was not installed all the way, so instead of replacing it, I tapped it a bit deeper. Then the wheep turned into a leak. So I went in again and disassembled the rear AGAIN, this time to replace the seal. Oh well....
