  1. Thanks . I wish I had been riding , but that would be a great road to hit if the rally comes to pass . Here's a shot looking the other direction from that same point . There are two or three more switchbacks directly below me . Too bad it was a hazy day as the color were brilliant .
  2. I think the fairing works visually .
  3. what's the middle one Chuck ? I didn't know the V50 was a Tonti design . Live and learn .
  4. my '81 CX100 taking a break in Mountain View, AR
  5. Nice job Chuck , did you notice a difference ?
  6. without jetting changes , it is possible it wouldn't have felt much different . I don't know how much weight 1/4" equates to but it's possible to remove a few pounds from those flywheels . but I agree , If I had a real nice 850 I don't think it'd be worth it to me to do the work .
  7. how about a lightened flywheel ? I haven't tried it on mine but that was a very common mod on the Tontis .
  8. This looks to be a bargain , but who are these people ? anyone here used them ? http://www.sonicsprings.com/catalog/
  9. Welcome . There's plenty of good help and advice here to be had so you're in a good place . Congrats on the "new" bike . Enjoy !
  10. A lot Guzzi people used the KalGard additive back in the '90s . The stuff from Harper's may be the same thing . It was in a box of goodies I got with the '03 Sport when I bought a month ago .
  11. I don't consider photos to be opinions or egos , but that's just me . but the red slime is very strange ( my opinion )
  12. what are you using in it ? or did I miss something ? was really curious as to what you are using in that high mileage test unit of yours. thanks
  13. Got in a 200 mile ride this weekend and the starting issues were gone . Not sure what fixed the problem but I cleaned up and lubed the bullet connectors , cleaned terminals at the starter and the battery . Thanks for the suggestions guys .
  14. I believe it ! My old bike corners better than my V11Sport but I attribute a lot of that to the Marzocchi fork that I haven't gotten into yet . My old round head is pretty well dialed .
  15. yeah , they're fine until egos and opinions get involved. How about those who are willing just state what you're using and leave it at that ? I've always used Mobil 1 synthetic in the gearbox and rear drive of my '81 Lemans . In the engine 20w50 Castrol GTX and always changed it before 2k miles . All I can tell you about any of that is that it worked . That bike has 55k miles on it. I haven't decided what I'm going to run in the V11 just yet.
  16. I seriously doubt if rebound or any other setting fully out or in is going to be correct . the Zokes are known to be lacking in damping . Experiment with it during a ride and see for yourself .
  17. Looks good to me. You're talking about the two smaller ones going to those two hard to reach tank nipples, I suppose. If in doubt, take the hoses out or leave them unplugged, They're for venting resp. overflow. Mine are out since I removed the tank the second or third time, hurting my fingers. Thank you....I figured out finally that the the upper tube attached to the bottom of the tank was a vent . I'm still not sure what the lower one with the hose clamp is though . Just curious as I don't have a manual yet .
  18. Tell me I've got those two hoses back where they belong .. I got in a hurry when I pulled the tank .
  19. that's funny .. I didn't publish my birth date but I'd say I'm about the median age on this forum ! The BOA guys are / were 10 years older than me but I know some of them .
