  1. The Eagle flies high . For EICMA, the guys of Moto Guzzi are preparing a juicy preview of what will be the future of Mandello's brand. Engaged for a long time in the revival of the glorious banner, the Pontedera Group is focusing its efforts to bring back what Italy's two-wheeler is a true symbol and which, for history and tradition, does not fear rivals. A 10-year project that has now reached halfway through its path. Until now, the range of V7 and V9 air cooled stainless steel stainless steel engines has been refined , in addition to the big cruiser and the monumental MGX-21 . Means that, season after season, have seen improvements in design, finishing and, as they are, they are gaining space on most US markets. Of course there is still room for improvement, but the traced track seems to be on the right track: history, charm, tradition that is renewed, the peculiarities of the current Guzzi. But they are not enough. PUNTO DI SVOLTA? - Certainty is that today, halfway through the development plan set by the Colaninno Group , it is perhaps ready for a new era in the Guzzi home. And the next EICMA will be a very important bank for the history of Aquila. Certainly the presence of a concept, which the Group men themselves call "revolutionary". The novelty starts with the engine - which will see a potential (1000-1200 cc) capacity - that will have nothing to do with current Big Bore or Small Block and will adopt a mixed cooling system with the head part cooled to liquid while lower air cylinders should remain cool for the cylinders. This will be the engine of the new course, as will be the concept built around it. Swollen stitches obviously on the type of motion, which could simply be a style exercise and that will launch concepts that we will see on the production of the near future. But we can not rule out a model that we will soon see on the market, with the period that seems ripe for a return of a crossover model (demanded by enthusiasts), or even a new and exciting cafe sport , most demanded and that in a brand like Guzzi could find easy shore. Whatever the novelty is, it is certain that, today as today, there is a need for a dynamic and evolving Guzzi. The road has been traced, now you do not have to see where it will take and wait in the near future, starting next November 7th. EICMA will tell us everything.
  2. the rumor I saw was some sort of cooling system for the heads , similar I suppose to the BMW twins . Saw that this morning . It was a 900cc with development capability up to 1200cc or so they say . who knows ?
  3. thanks KR , you can hear the pump everytime . . . . good stuff , did I mention that I hate electrical stuff !?!?
  4. excellent Docc, thank for the pics .those are very helpful as I despise electrical issues . will check those for sure . I kind of thought the issue was with the kill button at one point because it seemed like I could cycle it a few times and the starter button would come back to life . Not so much yesterday though.
  5. that works ! ... ck'n connections now
  6. Seems this is pretty common on these bikes , but when I say intermittent starting I mean that sometimes when I hit the starter button then engine spins normally and sometimes I get absolutely nothing . I thought my switch was dirty but I took it apart and cleaned it and it's still the same . What should I do at this point ?
  7. Ride height adjustment too . Thanks for the pics SwooshDave .
  8. I vote custom frame. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk it's their own frame and notice the linkage rear suspension .
  9. I think either one of those dates should be fine .
  10. sometime around Memorial Day weekend ? ... 1st weekend in June ? maybe a little earlier ?
  11. those are Chase Harper and I think they're called "Stealth " . I've had them for over 20 years .
  12. that photo was taken due east of Jasper . I rode 300 miles Sunday east of Jasper and it's all good stuff .
  13. I got in some riding this weekend east of Hwy 7 and there's plenty of great riding just waiting out there .
  14. Time for a proper introduction I suppose , but wanted to first say that I really enjoy the forum and that I love these bikes . I started riding back in 1971 and my first bike was a Honda SL70 . I've had too many bikes to mention and the majority of my riding has been off road hare scrambles and enduros and I'm still riding off road but not competitively anymore . The Italian road bikes caught my eye ( go figure ) in the '80s and I lusted for a Ducati 600SL but the Ducs were rare and really out of my reach . So, I began looking at BMWs but never bought one . Then, in 1992 while looking through " Bike Trader " I spotted a 1981 cx100 Lemans . So, I took a little road trip and ended up bringing that bike home . After 25 years of riding it and improving the suspension and jetting , I still love it . Ever since the V11 Sports were first released I've wanted one . I had never ridden one until two weeks ago and ended up bringing that bike home too . It's an '03 Sport Naked and so far I'm loving it .
  15. Agreed , and the 40mm Marzocchi forks are terribly soft if that's what your bike has . Check the external settings on those.
  16. What model is the bike ? Are the tires in good shape ? Check the profile of the tires and see if they are worn flat in the middle .
  17. I'd like to have the thingy that bolts onto the kickstand that makes the stand easier to reach .
  18. that sounds great to me . Almost anytime would work for me . and thanks for the welcome . I guess I should do a proper introduction ..... I love this forum .
  19. I for one would like to see this happen ..... next spring would be great
  20. yep ^^^ I have what I thought might be a rival , but it is not ... a 1998 Triumph Thumderbird Sport
  21. Hey, you get that from a shop in Leland MS? I was watching that for awhile! Glad you got it. It looks great. Welcome to the forum. Yes I did , thank you . I'd wanted one since they were first released and this is the first one I've ever ridden . It needs tires but seems perfect otherwise . 13k miles ! I'm pleased .
