  1. Well I'm 75kg or I guess that's about 150pds. When I took the leg out there was zero compression. Not a bit. Nill. The springs will be ok. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
  2. You can see the hole in the centre of the one way valve Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
  3. Ok here's a break down of the internals and fluid ways. The is another hole around the other side of the big tube. So the large tube acts as a reservoir of oil and as the rod on the lower left goes towards the right, it compresses the oil which squires out of the holes on the large tube. Inside the rod, there is another adjustable valve in the tip which is operated by the screw adjuster in the top of the fork. The screw pushes down on a inner rod the runs down middle and closes off the valve. It can close off completely so the only way for oil to get out is via the large tube. There are two large one way valves that open up as the rod goes back out as the forks decompress. Two ways to make heavier compression dampening. Heavier weight oil or block off a port in the big tube. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

  5. Howdy everyone, I know the topic comes up a bit but I am trying to find a solutions to fix my forks and specifically the lack of damping. I know reading previous posts, there is a guy in the USA that mods them, but since it will cost at least $1200 to do this with postage, its not a viable option. So I am wondering has anyone used damper kit from a different set of forks - say a griso aftermarket kit or the like ? I am thinking of replacing the entire front end otherwise, because there doesnt seem to be a lot of other choices. Any help would be appreciated especially if someone knows anyone in Australia that can fix the forks regards Neil
  6. I don't think the seat is on. Its certainly got some beautiful elements to it. that's Ok cause the seat doesn't look very comfy.
  7. i have the entire kit and kaboodle... from the drive to the gauges. All Veglia, all working perfectly, all for sale
  8. Saw this in my feed. Boy its nice..
  9. Couldn't agree more. I don't get why it would be any different since I couldn't imagine any shop would fit a clamp. On the flip side for arguments sake, I don't think there are too many oil filters (in a canister) embedded in the sump? And from an engineering point of view, why would you pressurise the filter instead of having it before the pump, that just doesn't make any sense since the last place you want damaged is the pump !
  10. Many years ago, i fitted a high intensity 5mm LED to my dash, it was the only thing on the dash apart from a speedo. Being high intensity, you could really notice it day or night. I rode home in the rain once and the light started flicking and I freaked. After a minute it went away as it dried out, then more rain and back on. I twigged what was happening after the second time, but what I immediately found is that the light which was narrow focus and eye piercing was very noticeable. I made the mistake of using a blue high intensity for my high beam and orange for turns on the previous version of the dash and it wasnt too bad in the day, but would blind me at night - Hence version 2 !! So my suggestion is go with high intensity LEDs for your oil light, you won't miss it !
  11. Unless a rod has smashed holes in the cases, whatever it is will be fixable. So... after its fixed, a supercharger run off the alternator that sits where the airbox does, and mod the frame to suit. Almost thinking of doing it myself as the bike is completely disassembled and waiting for painting and clean
  12. http://www.hardyspicer.com.au/PDF_Files/Driveline/B1_Catalogue_2014-15lr.pdf page 33 I'll have to take the bearing there to check. Also the local Guzzi dealer said he gets the bearing from another place close by http://www.driveline.com.au/contact-us and have plenty of options in the catalogue So I'll check the two places out.
  13. Hey everyone, Does anyone have the exact size of the Universal joint ? In the U-Joint Store they list to uni joints for Guzzi - http://theujointstore.com/moto-guzzi.html but not what bike they fit. Measuring the OD of the bearing is 22mm on Uni i have out Measuring the distance across the bearing is 51.7mm Can't seem to find much info on ebay or any of the main guzzi shop websites, but i am just after a replacement rather than an entire shaft and uni's. regards Neil

  16. Please help me out and click on the Poll. Please also add if you want, details about your shock - eg: I have a Hyperpro 460, love it, work well, cost $xxxx Thanks Neil
  17. I made them. The headlight is an insert and I machined and anodised the aluminium surround for it
  18. Well, a little story to go with this pic. I saw this bike in a magazine article in 1995 and immediately fell deeply in love with it. It took two years before i could afford to buy a guzzi and ended up with a Mille GT. After another 3years of building it through two changes of houses with one builder going broke, crash with a kangaroo and a divorce, I had the bike I had dreamed of. This is the bike I saw that started it all - although there was no girl for additional inspiration.
  19. Yeah, in destruction phase, bits are flying everywhere. Its chaotic. Good question, i have been thinking about what it should look like. I guess a couple of things that will happen - needs to be two seater - will have clipons - will lose the side covers, airbox - convert to pod filters and velocity stacks - deciding to clean and polish the bevel box - probably. - black paint, some custom decals - probably clean off the paint from the motor, but i'll see how it cleans up first. - billet headlight, same as the my other bikes - 7inch - single speedo same as the TRX - drop the ignition switch and use a motogadget prox switch, same as my TRX - new pipes, not sure whether same position or under seat but it will definitely by 2 into 2, not 2into1 if it was going to be a single seater, then it would be simpler - small seat/tail, new sub frame but i really want at least one bike with two seats so i can take my daughter out for a ride in a year or two when she's ready. I want to make the bike look lighter.
  20. The TRX had a trellis frame but I cut off the back end and attached a ducati 1098 subframe Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
