  1. A few of us local Guzzisti will be visiting the Gutsibits shop open day on Saturday 28th April, 10am until 4pm. Ed from Gutsibits says "call in and have a browse, there will be fresh Italian coffee and legendary cakes on offer as well as a good stock of interesting and useful Moto Guzzi parts. We'll also be offering free post on all orders placed in the shop on that day so don't worry if you buy something that's too big to bungee!". The shop is located on the canal at Slaithwaite, close by to some fantastic Yorkshire biking roads: Unit 30 Uppermills Canalside Slaithwaite HD7 5HA Guy
  2. Poor Harry I know he kept that bike in pristine condition
  3. The wheels look familiar- are they from a BMW?
  4. You wont damage your motor but it is worth investing in getting your fuelling set up properly if you are splashing out on Termignonis. Use the search function and you will find plenty of info re ways of tweaking your ECU.
  5. Todd from Guzzitech told me that any of the Power Commanders designed for the MY15 ECU Guzzis are interchangeable. I run a V11 PC111 USB on my Jackal cafe racer so think you should be fine.
  6. Yes they definitely ride low at the back, causing them to understeer a little and ground clearance isnt great either so its pretty easy to grind your pegs if you are giving her some stick. The WP shock is excellent and it seems like an expensive waste to buy a whole new shock so your thoughts of modifying the ride height yourself is probably a good way to go. My Daytona RS has the same shock and frame, has been modified so the shock is mounted to a different part of the frame giving her significantly more ride height. She is away having her new engine built at the moment otherwise I would take some pics.
  7. The Aussies ride on the left to show how much they still love the old homeland
  8. Yes in conjunction with FEMA. Its really scary.
  9. Moto GP- Stoner is by far the best rider now, its not just the machine he rides. I understand the new Hondas had engine reliability problems in testing so I think that is the only hope for the others. I like Rossi but I think his best days are over- he may get a win or two if he gets to grips with the new Ducati. WSB- I reckon Carlos Checa will be on form again he is a class act. I'll be cheering on Tom Sykes who is from Huddersfield and has a big chin. Formula One- Vettel must be favourite as long as the Red Bulls stay fastest. Can't write off Jenson Button or Lewis Hamilton. Its a bit better than a few years ago but F1 is still pretty tame compared to the good old Senna / Mansell days. BSB- Very close and competitive. Went down to the last corner or the last race in 2011. Will Haga show his class and cope with the more intimidating circuits like Cadwell Park which normally scare most of the prima donnas who have previously raced at World Class? Personally I am looking forward to the new CRMC BEARS series- may even see a Guzzi racing. May even hop over the sea to watch some Road Racing.
  10. Nice clip! Enjoyed the Budgie soundtrack too. Wish our local roads were that smooth. Guy
  11. Remember that V11s are made from heavyminium.
  12. An easy thing to check is whether you have any small drops of oil leaking underneath at the back of the engine. If the seal has gone this could be contaminating the clutch- it has happened to me before.
  13. I used Nitromors when I wanted to strip the paint off my cafe racer's yokes and fork legs- worked well as long as I used loads, let it soak in then the paint peeled off in big lumps. Was quite theraputic watching the paint bubble, then peeling it off. Had to do a bit of scraping on crevices. Cheers Guy
  14. I may have a spare low mileage sachs shock in the garage.
  15. From my V11 Rosso Corsa £40 plus shipping. Please PM me.
  16. I believe they have the early Daytona motor- maybe 90bhp compared to 120bhp of MGS01. I suspect you would need to throw a lot of money at it to make it as quick as an MGS01 but the Magni has the desirablity of a hand built low volume special edition Italian motorcycle, made by a famous MV racing mechanic. Not sure how many were made but they are rare for sure.
  17. Used and in good condition with rings and clips. £90 for the pair plus postage. Please PM me if interested. Guy
  18. Nearly 9 days left plenty of time for the big bids to arrive.
  19. The WP shock on the Sporti is excellent, not sure if an Ohlins would be an upgrade.
  20. She is a motorcycle not a painting- a museum or collection would be a waste. She needs to be thrashed senseless, covered in road dirt and flies, get the odd scratch and do a few track days. Hate to see a bike not get the use she deserves. I'd rather see her sprayed matt black and used as a courier bike with a big white top box than sit unused in a collection.
  21. Very nice and I am sure very expensive for whoever wins the auction.
  22. There is a huge demand for used Guzzi / Italian parts in Europe so my question would be where would your source your bikes from? Every bike that comes up for auction is normally bought for good money because traders know they can strip them down and make a profit on the parts. Would you be happy to bid against European breakers, pay more than them to secure the wrecked bikes then pay to import them to the States? I wish you well and am sure you could succeed but you may need to think carefully about how you source your bikes.
