  1. Bumpity, bumpity. Project 701 awaits space in the garage! Will have the Scura at the Oregon Vintage Moto Show & Swap in May and the weather improves daily. PM me if you have any referrals or additional suggestions. Added to ADV Rider where I originally found her. Fat Amy, the Africa Twin is sensing I'm in selling mode and feeling a bit skittish. Sherco gone, Scura needs moved ...... Spring cleaning!
  2. @Scud it’s original, as far as I know.
  3. Bumpity ... How might I boost the eyeball count? Whazzup? Riding her to work for the rest of the week.
  4. Man, that's a sexy time motorcycle!
  5. Oh, shoot. What the heck did I write in there? Thanks for the save!
  6. Time to part ways with this fantastic motorcycle. I'm just too into the ADV scene and want another lightweight DS option in the garage. Here's the rundown: #603 with just over 24k miles on the clock. I believe I'm the third owner. Purchased from an L.A. area owner in 2014 w/ the following: - Receipts from Moto Guzzi Classics, and Motoservizio in Signal Hill, CA as well as Evoluzione Cyclesports in Simi Valley. - High compression pistons w/ related gaskets, Stucchi crossover, Mistral Ti cans, fuel pressure modifier kit (fuel injected Ducati p/n 90200_00), PC III. - Carbon rear fender, black color matched tail section, CRG mirrors. I've done the following: - Roper plate, Scud spring, Lucky Phil shift link extender, adjusted the shift mechanism and it's glorious. Shifts are precise now and buttery smooth. Many thanks to the forum. - Ghezzi-Brian CF belly pan, re-upholstered rear seat and seat pad. Black head guards. Plugs and wires immediately after purchase. - Lightened the Ohlins fork springs from 1.05 to .95, Rizoma clutch and brake reservoirs, GRG levers, new grips, Li-ion battery w/ tender. - Sorted what I felt was a "thin" clutch throw / engagement with some thorough clutch bleeding and the issue has been rectified. Nice "long", controllable engagement range. No leaks, no peeling motor paint. Some chipping on the porkchops, but no scratches of scuffs on the body work. Sticker on the tank is covering the area where the Nanny State sticker were and the area below the OEM decals is visually different than the rest of the tank. Veglia tach needle is a little faded and dances a bit on throttle blips and shifts, but doesn't swing wildly. Fires easily, runs very well, no leaks, and always puts a smile on my face when I ride it. All shop work performed on this bike by EDR Performance in Beaverton, OR. Bike will sell with clutch and brake fluid flush along with fork service and new fork seals (complete 2/18/24). Final drive was recently serviced, O&F are fresh. Diablo Corsas have <250 mi on them. I'll go back and review all my receipts to see if there's anything I've omitted. Owners and service manuals, original tool kit. Additional set of the black OEM silencers, too. Additional pics or answers to your questions. Just DM me. Would like to see her go to an enthusiast.
  7. s602 here in Portland, Oregon.
  8. Clarity isn't that great, but you get the idea. They do push you out slightly, so I guess it depends on how comfortable you'll be. Doesn't seem like anymore effort / angle to line up to the shift lever than others .... ?
  9. KD's are tentatively sold to the gentleman from Ontario. My action item is to consult a podiatrist and get a second opinion.
  10. Have these sitting in my spares box: MotoBits: I believe all the parts are present and will include the printed instructions. $340 new. Asking $175 shipped. Knight Designs: Silver Quadtrax. They're the 1" lowering design with the more aggressive tread pattern. $174 new. Asking $75 shipped.
  11. Happy to say that with all the great content here in the forum I removed the selector box, disassembled it, marvelled at it's workings, cleaned it, installed the Scud spring, surfaced and polished the pawl arm, put her all back together, put it up on the bench vise, and started walking through the selector positions. Eventually settled on about 1/4" turn adjustment to the eccentric in order to get more throw on upshifts. Seemed like the pawl arm wasn't easily getting all the way ramped and over the selector roller. Reinstalled it dry to the bike and put it back on the garage floor. Rolled it through a few series of up/downs through all the gears. Seemed good enough to follow on with sealant. Hoping for no oil seepage tomorrow. One bummer ... the two vertical Allens immediately adjacent the starter (furtherst left on the box) have very weak thread engagement as if they're stripped, which makes no sense. Seems par for the course, though. Will enjoy getting a few rides before the weather turns and then the decision to keep her or not. My thanks to those that delved into these issues long ago and took the time to pass on the knowledge. Diving in there was a little initimidating, but once in the midde of it and solving problems, quite enjoyable.
  12. Thanks! I figured it out through a little trial and error. Appreciate the response.
  13. Removed plate and mechanism and got gears to neutral. Got the rear wheel off the lift and was able to move the shift forks to neutral and then align/reinstall the gearshift selector. Ran through all the gears properly while on the stand. Pulled it off and disassembled completely. Understand how the detents on the top gear function. Will post a couple picture with questions tomorrow.
  14. Once the bolts are removed and access is clear, how does this plate come off? And, does the nut circled in red need to be backed off or …. ? It spins and I assume it’s for adjustment or rotation of bits inside.
  15. I'll confirm, but there's certainly nothing going on that implaies corrosion. Went back to the stock footpegs/rearsets and it could just be the way the linkage sits. I've never felt good about the way it adjusts compared to any other bike set up. They all seem to like the arm pretty close to 90 degrees from the shaft/spindle. I'll fuss with it and play around until I can get a nice range of movement with it again.
  16. @ScudRequesting a Super Spring for my Scura. Scouring the topics and posts for other necessities before attempting to correct the issue. Issue: Shifter drops below 1st and won't come back up through neutral. Shifts through 3rd are fine, but falls out of 5th to 4th. Can't grab any gear other than 4th (?) at this point.
  17. @ChuckIf too late, please let me know. If not, I'd like to throw my name in for one. Need to gather up the other transmission/shifting improvement parts and ask for them in order to get her running again. My only operable gear (or at least the only one that I can get from neutral) is 4th, I believe.
  18. Well, here's what I STILL HAVEN'T done to my Scura: 1. Figure out the "thin" clutch engagement / feel at the lever. Related to below .... ? Some say poor adjustment due to hydraulic master, but can't suss that out. 2. Get off my ass and commit to inspecting / replacing the clutch / clutch plate or give it to someone who can get there. Looking at the plate is more of of a sense of comfort than a redline requirement, I suppose. 3. Repair / replace the shift spring and pawl bits. 4. Cam chain tensioner upgrade. I'd hoped to have done this last winter, but just waffled. Everytime I come back to the forum and the related threads, I get the overhelming sense that a guy needs to be a master machinist with an M.E. to get to the finish line. I fear that I'll end up with boxes of parts and a roller in the bed of my truck headed somewhere to correct my errors.
  19. Would you be willing to call me and walk through your parts list for the same project I've been punting for too long now.

Sorry. Following your Scura clutch replacement and likely shift spring, pawl arm swaps.

  20. Pics were clearer on the iPhone and then rotated 90 degrees when I saved them to the laptop. I'll clean that all out and see what I can feel vs what just looks "specky and shiny". Got lost in the threads last night trying to make heads or tails of the various clutch and lubricant discussions. It's like one of those "choose your own ending" books you get for your kids, lol.
  21. Footgoose - Yes, my '02 #603 has the original clutch. There's very little travel in the lever from disengaged to engaged, so not much slip at all. Scud - Yes, a pawl spring hand forged of the purest unobtanium piques my interest as do any necessary tools to complete the task. Many wheels have come off many bikes, but never a shaft drive jobbie. Just don't know if what I'm seeing is normal or cause for concern.
  22. These are all the many tasks I aspire to tackle and complete on my Scura, but admittedly get "scurred" away because I'm not licensed in any state to practice internal medicine. Installed Pressure Angle's Roper Plate with the gasket assist from SwooshDave after meticulously cleaning everything out and replacing the filter. Now have the rear wheel off under the impression that I'm actually going to go tackle the clutch plate inspection, but balked at it once I realized that a couple of MG specific tools will need to be purchased in order to do so AND that the manual says to remove the engine. Heck, it's only nuts and bolts, right? Then I see this post and figure that if we're going to 3rd base on the first date we might as well steal home. One area of initial concern is the gearing on the rear wheel. First time I've ever pulled one off and can see metal shavings in the grease along the gear splines. I'll get a picture tonight and try to add it here.
  23. I'm in. PayPal complete with shipping address in the notes section. Much appreciated!
  24. Yessir! I’m in and thanks for all your hard work.
  25. Guess, I should have assumed it to have been here first. Nice looking bike!
