  1. Howdy again, I've already made a very short tripreport on Martin's link (5th Anniversary). Not much but it says it all. Good to seeing you all in the flesh and I do hope that we can come back to La Chausse next year again. I'll definitely be there. Guy mentioned that he ran into 90 bikers from Satan's Slaves; I bumped into 20 (+) Bandidos at a filling station in Germany on my trip back to Denmark. Six of them were riding their mediocre, overpriced and overvalued led sleds; the remainder were stuffed into cars. Bikers my Oh, they all wore sunglasses - even indoors at the dinnertable..... Stevie Wonder eat your heart out. Once again thanks to you all for a splendid weekend. I will be there next year and so should you all. Ciao Søren
  2. Fast as ever, Martin..... Yes, that was definitely a great weekend - one of the best I've had for a long time. As Martin says V11 owners are good people; there was a friendly and kind atmosphere despite different nationalities, language barriers and what have you. Nonetheless everybody enjoyed themselves and it felt really nice to finally be able to put faces on names. Furthermore Jaap had ordered good weather thanks to his good contacts with 'da man' above and it worked! Lots of sunshine and temps around 20C - yeeehah! Called my wife back home in Denmark and she complained about gale winds and lots of rain....... The Saturday trip to the Eifel mountains was absolutely fab. Excellent twisties and turns combined with great weather - can't beat it Thanks to our pathfinders who trashed us big time in their backyard. The icing on the cake was the BBQ Saturday evening followed by numerous beers, filthy jokes (ask Guy about his special English dictionary.....), numerous fags (thanks Rob - I owe you!) followed by a terrible headache Sunday morning...... The return run to Denmark went fine. My wife had told me that dinner would be served at 7PM and I actually made it on time! My butt was absolutely numb but that comes with owing an Italian classic I suppose..... So here are my lessons learned: 1. Guzzi people, especially V11 owners are good people. 2. Jaap and Antonio did an excellent job arranging all this 3. Drinking and smoking with Rob till early in the morning gives you a headache..... 4. V11 standard seat is rubbish - 200 kms = needles and pins - 400 kms = your butt hurts - 600 kms = pain! - 800 kms = rigor mortis 5. Will do it again next year and so should you! Best regards Søren

    Going Racing....

Happy racing, Gyles , I'm off for the V11 meeting. Keep the sticky side to the road. Best wishes Søren
  4. Hi Seoulman, had the same problem on my Scura on the return run from the Superbike/Supersport races in the Netherlands earlier this year. Turned out that the wiring for the headlight was scrubbing against the frame. A good layer of gaffer tape did the job. Dunno whether this can do the the trick but give it a try. Otherwise, as you say, check all fuses and relays. If you run standard relays change them to Bosch dittos. Good luck. Søren
  5. Hi Timbo Guzzis are an aquired taste - either you love them or you loathe them; nothing in between. A V11 has character (some call it flaws) and as Mdude says it needs a little TLC now and then. Having said that it doesn't mean that the bike will break down under you whilst driving but it has a few electrical gremlins. Once sorted (relays, fuses) you'll have a bike which will leave you with a big grin on your face everytime you ride it. I'm mechanically challenged myself but haven't been left stranded so far (24.000km). I love my Scura - I couldn't imagine having another motorcycle - so give it a try. Try to see if you can blag a ride from a V11 owner first; they are different from any other motorcycle brand. Best wishes Søren
  6. Hi Richard and Trent, High five!! I wish my 20 years old twin boys had the same interest in bodging and fixing bikes but they can't put a stick in a turd without breaking the stick and getting poo on their shoes, unfortunately..... I have tried so many times but the almighty computer + studies takes the price. Nice job that you and and junior have put together - give him a big pat on the back from me. Cheers Søren
  7. Hi there, here's Greg Field's instruction for fitting Pete's plate As Greg states it takes a bit of drilling but not that much. I had my plate installed during normal maintenance at my dealer and they just followed Greg's instruction. Worked like a doddle, they said. Good luck! Cheers Søren
  8. Hi Baldini, Phil and Paul Just out of curiosity: How much does a RAM clutch cost? Being a Scura owner myself with the notorius rattling clutch and all the horror stories ind mind about exploding engines I have considered to have my OEM clutch replaced with a RAM thingie. Thanks in advance. Best regards Søren
  9. Hi Antonio, I already sent Jaap an email regarding this matter but let's go public: Yes, I'm in for both Friday and Saturday. Looking forward to see you all in Sibbe next week. Best regards Søren
  10. Saw the England - France match(es) a couple of weeks ago when I was on holiday in Spain, and I must say that France looks like a very strong site to me, so there goes my money. Sorry Guy, but England didn't stand a chance against Les Bleus. Best of luck though. Cheers Sørn
  11. Wow! What a trip! Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun despite the mishaps with the Quota. Thanks for sharing, Greg! Søren
  12. Amen, leave the fat ass tyres for the Harley boys Ciao Søren

  14. Hi Martin and Orson, thanks for the pics. Glad to see that Orson is yet again touring the world I talked to an English friend of mine yesterday and she said that everything is more or less flooded in Ol' Blimey. True? It's been raining cats and dogs here in Denmark for God knows how long..... Good luck to you both. Best regards Søren
  15. Allright, BFG I had the standard warthog engine paint coming off and the tranny sprawl thingie which left me bikeless for quite a while. Bar that I've been quite happy with my Scura. My wife just got a major payraise, so I'm tryng to convince her that I desperately need a new pair of rims, i.e. Dymag, PVM, OZ or what have you. If I succeed I'll have the spline checked and greased like Greg suggests. Cheers Søren
  16. Grüss Gott und Servus, Klaus Sehen uns im Valkenburg, Holland (and not in the US of A, DeBenGuzzi.... ) Bis gleich Søren
  17. electrical gremlins - how lovely...Not! I had probs with my Scura and it turned out to be a cable scrubbing against the frame. A good layer of gaffer tape solved the problem. Hope you get it fixed soon - it's a pain in the buttocks! Best regards Søren
  18. Howdy! So far I've covered 21.000 kms in three years, so that leaves me out of the competition.... Total kms: 21.000 (approx. 13.000 miles) Years of riding it: 3 Bought brand new in 2004 Repairs: Wrinkle finish paint covered under warranty, tranny sprawl replaced under warranty as well. Otherwise only minor electrical gremlins (blowing fuses like hell at a time etc.) Ciao Søren
  19. Hi Greg, thanks for sharing and enlighting us all It seems like I'm one of those 'bad guys' who just love to use the engine brake; just love the sound when the big roar sets in and scares the living s*** out of the other com(m)uters (one or two m's??) So far I haven't observed any flaws on my 2002 Scura, but I'll have a chat with my mechanic next time I have my rear tyre changed. I'll show him your 'How-to-fix-a-cush-drive' with your permission, of course. Better safe than sorry, you know (and YOU do!) Nothing better than a tip-off from a real pro like yourself - thanks again! Cheers Søren
  20. Denmark rocks!! 580 Scuras in Denmark or am I missing something????.... Ciao Søren
  21. Hi Jaap, Sorry, didn't mean to be pushy. And yup; I'm willing to share a room with the other farters... Have a nice weekend Cheers Søren
  22. Howdy again, just a call from f#"£€$@ rainy Denmark. It has been pouring down for the last month and a half (and we're talking heavy rain and storm) so I haven't spent that much time on the bike.... Back to the subject: I've send Jaap an email regarding the V11 rally in September but haven't heard anything. Is he on vacation or what? I'm coming to the rally sans wife. Looking forrward to seeing you all in the Netherlands. Best regards Søren
  23. Nothing better than a good laugh at the end of the week. Have a good weekend, Ralph. Søren
  24. Sad to hear you wrecked your bike, Mogens, but glad to hear you made it despite the dislocated collarbone. Hope you recover fast. Søren
