  1. Sorry to hear about the fuel economy. The more miles you put on these things, the better they run -- until you wade them up I suppose? Fuel economy.... what are you looking for?
  2. when is the projected release date for the US....... and how much is it going to cost!
  3. Nice shots SoCalDon! Good. Except the mystery of the union hotel was how that blonde country maiden could lead half of us around a bloody hedge maze in the middle of the night while the other country maiden proved she was the best waitress in town by taking all of our money after talking about her breasts for an hour and half
  4. I was at the no rally - rally. And I hope to be there next year too. This thing was way way good. We had something like 13-16 guzzi's - all types-- quota, gezzi-brian, ev touring, le mans old and new, Californias, v11's- they were all good. Plenty of good talk and riding. The SoCal group are awesome. September is the next rally thing in Bodega Bay. I should have a new goose by then too! I'm waiting onmy buddy , Steve Hubbard, to send me some pics to post here-- my daughter has my camera!
  5. I will be there Leaving my bloody house at 6:00 a.m. and meeting Steve Hubbard in King City (?) at 10:00 or so! m Should be in Los something or other by noon or so..... We'll see what it's like.....
  6. check it level How much oil are you all putting in. I add "about" 3 and 7/8 qts. and have done fine (except of course for that incident when the oil filter became loose!).
  7. I'll miss your messy garage carl but duh, you always did know where everything was. Enjoy the new location. Enjoy less people, commute, accidents, TAXES.
  8. I think it just fell off a truck backwards....
  9. how are the bars on the centauro? Can clip-ons work? How about different positions or different bars for better body positioning on the thing?
  10. last year I had a thread on this exact topic-- my front tire (OEM BT 020) wore exactly like the way you're describing it. I chalked it up to dialing in my damper and the previous owner not keeping the tire pressure checked exactly to 34 psi. ( I was putting air into those 020's constantly). I just put on 014's and they handle way differently. I love these tires already. Comments?
  11. I tell ya-- you gotta love this forum! I haven't minded hauling big bikes around (remember the Yamaha TDM??? Beautiful bike-- awsome. A real workout in the hills too. Fun. I'm trying to get a sense of this bike - comparing it. If the riding position can be adjusted, well... maybe.... On the v11 Le mans-- this is a wonderfully handling bike. Sounds like the Centauro is geared pretty low to get the front wheel up a little
  12. v50man -- 'splain that a little about fastest ever on a straight line? How do they handle leaned over? Do new lines help eliminate oill leaks, etc.? what helps? what's your opinion on overall performance?
  13. hmmm... got me interested now... maybe this could be my second bike Are there fixes for the above complaints? How do they handle compared with like the le mans? There's a nice looking one listed on ebay right now.
  14. Centauro -- bee--u--tee--full. Why did mg stop making that bike?
  15. Hey Dave,- to finish off that sentence on my bike... my plan (feeble as it is) is to sell off most everything (!) and recoup in a couple of months (looks terrific on paper, at any rate!). the goose might not go, but its ok if it does for the time being There is a "no rally" guzzi rally on 6-25 in Los Alamos -- Central Coast, near Parkfield where we rode. It's just a bunch of guzzista's of various sorts meeting there -- informal/ no agenda. Ride/talk/play/hang out. Motel is the Alamo Motel at 805.344.2852. Cheap. I plan on going and seeing what's up. Then swing on up the next week into Mendocino! If anyone's interested in this thing in Los Alamos, let me know and I'll gladly email you all the info I have! Hey Tim, can you describe the difference in performance with the crossover vs stock? How's that neutral thing going?
  16. Hey D and J -- how about June 30-31- I believe I can ride up then -- anyone else??? You guys "open" then
  17. Terrific pics Martin Did everyone camp? On the pics, that one black v11 looks like it picked up one of our Parkfield squirrels.... don't you think....?
  18. my 03 lemans has not had pinging I only use regular gas and put her into 6th gear all the time on the slab. I open it up all the time but I don't hammer it constantly either. Tuning my tps and tb's made a big performance difference however my personal bet here is a tank of bad gas did it..... does it ping all the time with each tank of gas.....?
  19. I left out, they ought to call the norcal guzzistis "killers" . I personally witnessed Steve Hubbard kill one squirrel with his EV Touring (let me repeat, those EV Touring bikes can scoot through the twisties!). I claimed 2 squirrels myself -- both with my rear tire. So THAT'S what happened to it... It would take someone with local knowledge, like Mark or Tim, to tell exactly what kind of critters we were knocking off -- I'll call'em squirrels. Dave- no new bike yet! I still want 2 though. Speaking of the Triumph, there was one at Parkfield!
  20. leaving Parkfield -- Tim and Scott, Hal and Marina took off north, the solcal guys (3) went south. Mark, Steve, and I headed back the way we came -- except somewhere alone the line I notices (or Steve did) that my rear tire had cooked off- it was gone! I couldn't make it home -- 250 miles?- Steve offered me to stay with his wife and him in the hills east of Monterey -- I think about 70 miles away from Parkfield. We all three rode to King City, parted company with Mark, and Steve and I headed over to the coast- I was freaked out with no tread left! (I know-- save it I WAS going to buy tires after this ride- honestly. Whoever was going to buy this bike was getting new tires too Spent the night at Steve's. Loaded the goose onto his GUZZI TRAILER (he's got i t all!) and drove to San Jose next day (2 hours). Bought new tires at the only shop open on Monday! and Steve and I (read:STeve) removed my tires -- OK, so I now know how to take a rear tire off a Le Mans (only took 2 hours to take it off!, 15 minutes to put it back on. Front went on smooth (er)! This guy and his wife went all out for me here -- Thanks big Time Pic : new Tire -- BT 014 -- thanks to this forum for that too!
  21. once again for the world-- can this guy pull off a rally, sanctioned by guzzi, at parkfield??? Thanks Mark for pulling off this event this Sunday (and for me, Monday too )
  22. We ride into San Miguel, get gas, and ride on a great ride into Parkfield (I"m at about 300 miles about here). Parkfield is great. WE NEED TO DO A GUZZI RALLY HERE --- MARK HAS PROMISED TO ORGANIZE IT (didn't I hear you that Mark?.... Mark...) There's a hotel, cafe with great food, and plenty of camping room, I think -- depends on who owns it and will they let us have our rally!) Pics show: cool bikes at Parkfield! including this Laverda (1979?), license plate of the guy who wants to buy my bike, and the whole NorCal-SoCal group, and of course the cafe
  23. I'm taking a chance here- trying to remember all this- so here goes -- Nor Cal guzzista's met in Holister, CA at (1) Cozy Cup Cafe (2) Starbucks (3) junction hwy 25 and hwy 198 (!). I left Stockton at 6:00 am, got to Holitster at 7:30 (Yes I did turn blue going over Pacheco Pass but did not ride over it sideways like last time) and met Hal on his new v11 sport cafe italiano (please supply all the details!) -- btw- this bike is loaded with all the goodies- a suspension to kill for, ... at the Cozy Cup. Then up rides GuzTim on his v11 and buddy Scott (VFR)-- both replete in fine italian (or similar) leathers, then Mark in Holister rides up on his California -- completely loaded (the bike, not Mark). Great breakfast and talk and then Mark thinks people might be waiting over at Starbucks, so we head off there -- trying to keep up with Mark! The Lady guzzista, Marina, is waiting there on her EV (I' know I probably got that wrong!). She is fine too and has ridden across this grand country on her bike (speaking of riding across country -- GuzTim, I found out, rode both ways, coast to coast , in 48 hours each way!= try that one some time). We ride on hwy 2 5 - too good to describe -- zero practically traffic and wonderful sweepers with some goofy surprises too. This one highway exception, when the sign says 30 mph, they kind of mean it, sort of... At junction 198 and 2 5 we meet up with Steve Hubbard (I owe him big time too) on his California -- just an aside here on the California-- probably the guys riding them!-- those bikes can turn. They really handle. I love those things. Pics here show hwy 2 5 and 1 9 8. Fine ride so far, me trying to keep up with Mark, Tim, Scott. Hal, Marina and I keeping up!== now we have to keep up with Steve on that California!
  24. did someone say "meet for breakfast" - yes on that. I'll be leaving at like 6 and will be hungry by the time I get to holister. Let's meet somewhere there.... suggestions mark ol buddy?
