  1. gthyni, please see my response to you on the previous page. On a different post, you stated you have a SD100 (120mm). Your model has the same bracket as the SD110 that I have (opposed to the SD120 Ducati "L" bracket). Any chance you have a picture of your install? This would really help. thanks!
  2. Do have a picture of this configuration? It would seem that a longer bolt would even further reduce the clearance to the oil cooler. The Ohlins SD 120 comes with the Ducati mount bracket that looks very similar (maybe the same) to that of the v11 Cafe version (ie.. "L" shape). It has a 68mm stroke vs the stock 80mm on the Bitubo, does any one see this as a problem? Would it reduce the distance that my steering travels? I went with the SD110 because the 90mm size...but the bracket is for a universal install and Ohlins USA wants $143 for the SD120 L bracket.
  3. I recently picked up a new Ohlins SD1100 (90mm stroke) steering damper for my v11 Naked. Everything that I've read says that it would be closest fit to the original 80mm Bitubo. Though it looks as thought the SD1100 does not have the "L" shaped bracket and won't bolt on the stock mounts cleanly (coming to this conclusion after an hour of trying to make it work). Here's a diagram of what my SD1100 looks like. Here is the Cafe Ohlins damper....does anyone know what model it is? I know that the Ducati SD120 (68 mm stroke) has a similar mount but I don't believe going shorter is a good idea. Any help is appreciated.
  4. Funny that you mention this, I just recently began noticing a similar sound. I can only hear it at very low speeds (ie..coasting up to a stop light). I have to assume that road/wind noise keeps me from hearing other times. Seems to do it regardless of clutch position. I can't tell if it is coming from the gearbox, shaft, rear-end, or brake. It and makes low pitch "grunting" sound then a click every revolution of the wheel. I just had my initial service not too long ago...could it be a brake adjustment that the dealer did? I plan to do some experimenting in a big parking lot this week. Anyone heard of this?
  5. Rob sold those MG Ti's.
  6. Last I spoke to FBF (Dec 04), they said they were having problems with their European manufacturer of their Ti's and had no idea if they would be producing them again. Not sure if this has changed in recent months.
  7. Al, many of your exhausts posts & pics are the reason I was shooting for the Leo's, thanks for all the great info. We'll see how things unfold. In the mean time I'll stare at my new stuchi on a garage shelf until I have some new cans to go with.
  8. Unfortunate news. I've been wanting to put some new cans on my v11....ideally the MG Ti's but the lengthy backorder has put the kibosh on that. Though I hear that they are going to start back soon (we'll see). As my alternate choice, I was going to go with the Leo Vince Titaniums (5433). As of sometime in Jan, the Leo website still had the part number listed. A few weeks ago I went back and received an error msg. I then contacted the Leo USA distributor in Richmond, CA to inquire. The Richmond folks didn't know specifics but contacted the Leo Italy headquarters and got back to me with the following email. "We are out of stock and the item is discontinued. I’ll let you know why, part of our business plan last year was to take about 1100 unique systems and we reduced that number to 800. We found that about 800 our systems represented almost 90% of our business. When we were producing such a large number 1100+, it slowed us down and we were not able to be the first to market on the newest systems. So we had to, unfortunately, reduce the number of pipes we manufacture. Sometimes, like in this case it hurts, most of the time though it makes life much easier!" Ironic that Leo cancelled the product line for another Italian company...maybe some politics at play. To say the least...I'm still in search for a Ti setup for my bike. Thoughts? cheers
  9. interesting...I wasn't aware of that. thanks for the info. darn europeans....always get the cool stuff first.
  10. Biesel, thanks for hosting these....might be good to put a link to these and Pauls on the Fileshare forum, I've been looking for these for a while now and others may be as well. Though looks as thought the "V11_Le_Mans 2002.pdf" is actually for 2003. The pages say 2002, but you look at A15 and B7 you see that it has internal fuel pump and front cross-over.
  11. Paul, fantastic! You made my day. Though, kinda wish it was in English, but having the part numbers is most important. What else do you have in that archive of yours?? haha. cheers.
  12. Paul, good post. thanks. do you know if a similar product is available for newer bikes? I'm trying find part number listing for 2003 and newer. Thanks! http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4538
  13. Hello all. I've been using the .pdf V11 Sport (pre 2003) Service Manual and loving it. Thanks to those in the community who made this available. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3783&hl= Does anyone know if there is a newer version of either the Service Manual or Parts List in soft or hard copy for 03+ bikes? Also, I may be missing something...but how do I get the actual OEM part numbers from the exploded parts list diagram? Thanks!
  14. jrt, my thoughts exactly. Curious if this new design is compatible with the pre-2003 "angle drive" that's broken on me a few times already. Is a different style gear drive needed? I'd love to retro-fit a more robust design on my 02 naked once and for all.
  15. ratchethack, I have same heavy throttlemeisters as you though have never had difficulty removing them (though haven't had to very many times). It fact, I have to make sure that they don't fall off on my toes as soon as I loosen the allen bolt. I used standard "blue" locktite (opposed to the heavy red version) that can be easily broken loose with a 1/2 socket. Did you play with different combinations of washers? I wonder if you might need to add more shims. btw...I agree, these worked very well at killing almost all bar vibration. good luck.
  16. I love the looks of the Triumph Triple's dual headlamps, has anyone tried to install them (or at least it's bracket) on a V11 naked? Would really like to get someone's take before I jump into this and spend the money. cheers
