  1. rick, I bought mine new and still have that form in my booklet....the warranty registration process was automatic/computerized. Get in touch with a local dealer or MGNA and give them your VIN, they'll be able to cofirm if your bike is still under warranty and they'll change you as the owner in the system. The engine case replacement or accessory "buy off" will be available to you as long as the original owner did not already receive compensation...MGNA will know. cheers
  2. Alex, see the "rear wheel woes..." thread below. All the info your looking for. Let's keep that thread going! http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...topic=5537&st=0 you actually used 2 different generations of SKF bearings....RSH replaced RS1. http://www.skf.cz/katalogy/dd8063e.pdf cheers!
  3. ...no. Corbin's doesn't even let you use the rear cowl. Best thing I can tell you is to buy the style of back rests you want and see if Rich Maund or someone local to you will customize your seat and backrests to your specs. not cheap...guessing around $400 - $500.
  4. ya, I call MGNA about ever other month for a polite inquiry. ....im running out of politeness.
  5. I'm still on "the list" according to MGNA. Been waiting for 8 months...so not as long as some of you, but still completely unacceptable. it took 3 months to officially get on the list. What stinks is that my warranty will be up by the time they actually get to me....can't say I'm enthusiastic about have a completely rebuilt engine with no warranty. Anyone heard of MGNA extending the warranty on the engine alone? or is this is the "ya right" arena?
  6. Antonio, you're exactly right, the 1200 models are about 1 mm more than I would prefer. I don't have a pic of mine right now..but check out post #48 of this thread for a pic. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...8&hl=pods&st=40 When I looked at all the K&N filters available, all the filters with a smaller inner di were not as large as I would have liked. The pods were looked much smaller and I don't think they looked good nor would get enough air. The RC-1200 I have fits fine once you replace the KN clamp with a hose clamp that can tighten down to extent needed to secure the pod with no air leaks.
  7. ha ha! agreed pete...but can a guzzitsi sleep at night if there isn't something to be anal about? until something new F's up (knock on wood)....a wheel bearing is my biggest worry and damnit it I'm going to over-analyze the hell out of it.
  8. sorry for the confusion....I didn't mention that I'm doing an Ohlins fork retrofit with a Duc hollow axle. Those who have done this mod say that the new front axle uses 6205 on both sides. If you have Marz, then yes, better get a 6304 as well. mike/paul/david/Al .....can you confirm? thanks
  9. yes, when I bought my RC a few months ago there was no RU-1200 shown ....oh well. The chrome actually doesn't look that bad.
  10. from all that I've seen, it is 6204 rear, 6205 front.
  11. Back to the bearing topic for a moment so we can hopefully put this to rest. I contacted EB Atmus...if you don't see it on their website for sale....then they (at least the 2 people I spoke to) probably can't get it. Second call went to "Bearing Kinetics" form Dallas http://www.bearingkinetics.com 1-877-242-4469 I just lucked on to their website by chance when googling. FYI - their website is not that great...but I went ahead and called them and was very very happy I did. I initially spoke to Erica in the sales side of things and asked her about the 6204/5 SKF bearings that I found earlier. She found the part numbers, they have both the RSL and RSH in a C3....about $5.00 to $6.00 each. So...now that I had to choose, I wanted more insight to which may be better for our application. She transferred me to the owner, Don. One of the nicer guys you could ever speak and obviously has years of bearing experience. I told him our scenerio and he said although the SKF bearing that we were looking at would work, he would recommend one that is more motorcycle specific....turns out he makes bearings for some of GP teams. What luck! If we really wanted performance and low friction, 7x more life, 1/2 weight, then ceramic (silicon nitrate) are the best...and what he does for the GP guys and other auto racing teams....though they're about $50.00 a piece (yes...50 bucks). But if we want a normal (ie..less expensive) person's street-use bearing, he would make the following: 6204-LLB C3 and 6205-LLB C3 ....for about $4.50 each. SKF ones were only about $5.00 each FYI If you are that 1%er and want ceramic then put a "C" in front of the 620x for the part number. Regardless, he definitely said that we want C3’s. I went ahead and ordered 6 each of the standard steel ones...that should serve me and other needy people for a while. Don was going to make them up in the next couple of days and get them out. Can't express how helpful these folks were and volunteered an abundance of information for a "small fish" order. Will let everyone know how it goes when I receive the bearings. cheers.
  12. Hi Antonio, it is hard to get an idea of scale from the picture to know exactly which part number it is. If your question is in regards to which part number of a cone pod fits, most people use the RC-1200 or RU-1200.
  13. What is also unfortunate is that the average MG dealer that primarily focuses more on other bike lines (I don't consider the ones you mentioned "average") still just replaces the spring from parts stock and doesn't even know of the boss replacement. I've already had one bad experience like this when mine broke the first time.
  14. I called E.B. Atmus, I gave them all the info and they are researching it and will call me back. They deal in a lot of bearings, though didn't know enough about the "H" or "L" designation to give a specific recommendation for our application....so they are going to get back to me on any 6204 or 6205-2RSH/2RSL C3's.
  15. and I'd happily pay your small profit.....ha ha!
  16. leo...I've had a few pair of the Koss headphones (lost a set and repurchased). You can buy them under a Radioshack label (though says Koss on hardware) for $19.95 with pouch and 3 types of squishy inserts. Even with music off, they have a db reduction similar to cheap ear plugs.
  17. dlaing - exactly....I looked on the Dynaroll site and saw "standard open" but nothing specific about having a 2RSH/L C3 of either a 6204 or 6205. think we may have to call up some places.
  18. On rare occasions I'll get some tunes going on....only during a boring highway ride. Though I definitely don't think this helps my hearing at all...even with a nice "squishy" (sorry, not sure how else to describe) in-ear head phones and good full face helmet. As long as you don't wear them in traffic; enjoy the tunes. If you're especially hardcore, you can pay the $250 for the custom ear plugs with headphones built in (westone.com). I have their standard custom plugs...can't justify the fancy ones with headphones.
  19. Fronts are 6205. I’m still not sure whether to go with the H or L….wonder how much additional resistance the H has with the contacting seals….enough to really affect wheel friction compared to the L? I don't see any 2RSH or 2RSL bearings that are C3...on only standard and C2. C2 has smaller clearance....C3 larger. Then again, really wonder if all this really matters given that these bearings are built for 10K-20K rpms and heavy machinery....doubt our 500 lb goose is going to over stress any of them......but then again, I'm in no way an expert in this area. From the E.B. site...not exactly quantitative C/1 - Internal Clearance is smaller than C/2. C/2 - Internal Clearance is smaller than STANDARD. STANDARD - No clearance marking is indicated on the bearing or packaging. C/3 - Internal Clearance larger than STANDARD. C/4 - Internal Clearance larger than C/3. C/5 - Internal Clearance larger than C/4
  20. 2RSL or 2RSH.......where the heck can you get them??? I'm not having luck in my googling....can only find older styles. Was going to get a set of 6204 and 6205's for when I change some axle spacers in the near future.
  21. All you wanted to know about newer style bearings....my head started to hurt after about the 3rd page....but sounds like the RSL C3 is the way to go. Now...where to buy them? Any reason to get different bore size? http://www.skf.cz/katalogy/dd8063e.pdf

    Cruise Control

I've used a throttle rocker, which is the same basic idea as cramp buster, on a few different bikes and loved it. I don't use one on my V11 since I have the throttlemeisters. The only thing to watch out for is going from highway to street/back roads and ensuring that you have enough grip room for your hand so that you can use the throttle without hitting the throttle rocker. For me at least, using the throttle rocker around town or on twisties doesn't "feel" safe....harder to regulate throttle position. But if you're on the super slab....great to have!
  23. don't get me wrong, I respect what Jordan is doing for racing.....he's just not at the top of the list of people I would like to see own MG. guess I'd want someone with more of a history in European cycles and heritage. but maybe im asking for the icing too.

    PITA

In regards to Throttlemeister, here's a search (via the search button in upper right of this page) for site discussions relating. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?...throttlemeister Most folks have been very satisfied with the Throttlemeisters and their ability to almost completely eliminate vibration. If you want to use bar-end mirrors, I believe you'll have to machine the throttlemeisters to fit. I have the heavy models and they work well....I've used the throttle friction lock on a few super slab rides with no problems...keeps that right hand from falling asleep.
  25. droydx....you beat me on starting this thread....ditto to all. Unfortunate that Moto Italiano got drug in at the last minute and gets the bad press. It absolutely boggled my mind that MG didn't have a Corsa to show off at a GP race...what a missed opportunity to show the crazed GP world such an awesome "production" bike. There wasn't a Breva 1100 either for that matter. To make things worse, I talked to the booth guys a few times, they said that there was dealer meeting in town also and the Corsa was over at the meeting area instead...I don't get it. I have an unsettling feeling that Piaggio is just going to let MG fade away in a marketing screw up. Michael Jordan?...I hope not, but yes someone needs to step in....I won't say the "D" word.
