  1. It is stock, or it could be something guzzi had lying around, anyway it came on the bike, looks like a carbon fibre/check weave. Doesnt make it any comfier.
  2. Yes, my one does have a weave pattern on it. Try reboot guzzi spares site, they are breaking a cafe sport. Gary

I changed my speedo cable after it had been on for 12000 miles. generally i have had them fail after 4-5000miles. I thought, what a great bit of pre emptive maintenance, changing it before it fails . new one failed at 1500 miles. Refitted old one,You cant win
  4. I use "Red Line heavy shockproof gear oil" in gearbox and final drive, You dont need any more additives. Gary
  5. I thought that was the normal procedure for starting these bikes. Clutch lever in then press the button.!!! My bike will never ever start without the clutch lever being in.
  6. They are scottish and scared, probably wait till it goes away.
  7. Arrived home last night at 11.30. Had a great time, If you have ever wondered why you ride a bike it was for weekends like this . great scenery, good food and drink , nice weather and to put names to faces. A big thanks to David for organising.

  9. Dont know which port you are arriving in, but the lake district is worth a look around, before all the tourists crowd it out.
  10. Well before the thread hits the gutter I used a drop of blue loctite on my shaft left it 24hours and now it turns/works a treat
  11. The last time i changed the oil in my bike, when i took off the hoses there was a o ring on the tapered end, If you look inside the hose fitting isnt there a groove for the o ring to sit in!!!!.I vaguely remember putting it back inside the hose fitting
  12. I saw a Scura R at a irish rally in 2006, Beautiful bike
  13. Is there any in the UK I have never seen anybody from britain with one post on here, or seen one advertised for sale.
  14. Good on ya, just back from the scottish guzzi rally and it was simply brilliant, was up ullapool, gairloch, loch carron roads and they were EMPTY of traffic, weather was good and dry, best weekend of biking in a long time. Enjoy
  15. Been waiting to go offshore since wednesday morning, got here last night, lot of unhappy people still waiting to get off . Helicopter pilot gave us a briefing before we left, Apparently its ok to fly through the levels of ash that are still here
  16. I have just fitted a new speedo ( Kaput after 20002miles). Anyway went to fit the tripmeter knob and it just slides on there seems to be a thread but its definetely smaller than the trip knob. Anyway the new speedo works and the internal lights are working (a job on its own)so i am NOT taking the thing off. How has anyone resolved the situation, I have loctite threadlocker, will that do or what is JB weld.
  17. Congratulations i hope you are very happy together , How does she handle.
  18. As Murray said, I got my forks serviced by Bob Grant (a ohlins agent and racer) at knockhill race course. he set the sag for my weight, just gave it some minor tweaks and all was well.
  19. Hello and welcome to the forum. I have a V11 cafe sport and love it, mind i think the last one was made in 2003. I live in scotland so i can only agree about the crap weather lately. anyway i have no issues with the ride quality on my bike, its done 23000 miles and never popped a seal I got the forks set up from a ohlins dealer at 12000 miles and he said the seals were still up to the job (but he changed them anyway), although there are issues with seals going regularly from other guys on the forum. I would get the suspension set up for your weight for better ride quality as compared to the stock bike its like a magic carpet imho. As for the pawl spring, well they are a known fault. I changed mine out last month ( i just wanted to see how to do it, and was starting to get paranoid that it had never went )The spring was perfect . But i use shockproof heavy in my gearbox and i am sure it helps. Any way where are you in Ireland as there is a meeting been organised in Ireland for the end of may by Belfatguzzi, do a search on here for the info. Get yourself along and all will issues will be dealt with Gary
