  2. What a great picture of the dog. I wonder if my Lab would sit still on the Guzzi! Sorry man I'm in Iowa or I would take you up on your offer. I've always liked the W650. Good luck

    Ultra-Ouch!

OMG that is amazing. You would think the incoming bikers could see the dust and stuff flying around. Any idea what this ride was about? Hope it wasn't ride to work day!
  4. Pat Benatar was on CMT doing her songs with Martina McBride. Pat is still gorgeous, and still married to her guitarist/husband. And she still has that powerful voice....
  5. Is it a specific (model, year)Buell footpeg that can be used as a replacement for the ones on the 03 V11? Thanks
  6. I know this may seem weird, but I hate the big clunky soles on those boots. I mean how in the hell can she brake and shift in those things...
  7. Yes, the fire thing really freaked me out.... I know I got lucky. I was pushing before the stop sign and would have been after the stop sign.
  8. Had to take the gas tank off friday night to fix an intermittent starting problem. Got that done and put everything back together or so I thought. At a stop sign the bike starts sputtering as I turn right. Rear tire spins under acceleration slides to my left then catches and highsides me to my left. I must have put my left leg down to catch it because my knee is hurting and I can't put any weight on it. Bike ended up on it's left side with a broken front left turn signal, bent clutch lever, bent and busted case guard, scratched front , and rear cowl, and scratch on muffler. Once I got it up there was gas all over the right side under the fuel pump. Apparently the inboard (white fitting) fuel line didn't get seated correctly. I felt it click but I didn't check it. Gas had spurted out onto tire and under acceleration the tire broke loose. There was a nice puddle of gas and a black streak from the puddle to the place where the bike spit me off. A very expensive lesson. Just felt like shaing my experience. Can plastic scratches be fixed?
  9. Thanks Martin! As soon as I put the spanner on it popped right off. Thanks. Darryl
  10. Martin, So push the grey plastic piece off the red or white piece. I don't want to create a bigger mess by breaking something. Thanks, Darryl
  11. Ok, I'm trying to get the gas tank off. Instructions for the 03 say to remove the fuel lines from the pump at the quick connect thingy's. Are these the Red and White lines that come out of the fuel pump on the right side? Both red and white fittings come out of a silver plate (assuming fuel pump) and make a 90 degree turn then there is a whitish plastic bolty looking thing then black plastic then fuel line. How does the "Quick disconnect " part work. I'm pushing and pulling and moving but nothing seems to give. Am I in the right area? Also there are two hoses connected to the tank up under the tank. These have no type of connection so where and how do they come off. Well I'll be hanging around for awhile. I was hoping to get this finished tonight. Thanks for any suggestions Cheers

    ebay Tenni

What's the background on te Tenni style? Is there a story behind the paint scheme?
  13. I'm still thinking Buell's are suffering for there QC issues of preceding models. I like the looks of them and enjoyed the test rides, but there is something there that just stops me from looking at them seriously.
  14. I'm iffy on the disabled sidestand switch. If I can get the electricals to work with upgraded components, I'll just let it protect me.
  15. I did a search and found the how to on tank removal. Must mean I was destined to remove the tank. Thanks Guys!
  16. I do have to move the handlebars periodically to get the bike to start. Could the old connections cause a problem while the bike is under way?
  17. 2003 LeMans. 4800 miles. Just changed oil, probably under 1/2 tank of gas. Way home last night. Accelerate from roll through stop sign in a left turn. Bike starts bucking. Engine stalls and I roll to stop. Refire goes 10-15 yards bike stalls again. Get it started idles fine let it sit for awhile. Head home 38 miles runs fine. This morning, start it up idles fine get about 1 mile from home Left hand turn starts bucking again. Feels like the engine is misfiring. Doesn't stall but I take it back home anyway. Any thoughts? Thanks, Darryl
  18. I'll bite. What is this bike. A future Moto Guzzi model, one-off, or a designer bike?
  19. All done now. Ended up pulling the sump. Only problem was oil drain bolt fell through the gap in screen and went into the hot oil. Had a couple of beers said screw it and got it out this am. Raining now so I may go for ride this afternoon. Screen was clean and everything fit back like it was made to with no spare parts Maybe a valve adjustment in the future....? Thanks for the advice.
  20. Could they make an Aerostich that large? And could the Lemans handle that? The sad thing is I keep coming back to read what everyone writes.
  21. You should be banned from ever posting on this website. My wife is out of town this weekend and you have completely ruined my weekend..

    Goldwing wheelies

Hey Motomaniac, When I was a sales rep for a video distribution company I had a video store in Landrum SC. Ran by a guy named Mason Crain. Nice area of the country down there.
  23. Ok on an 03 Lemans, If I go the remove sump route. There are some metal tubes going in the front of the sump. How difficult are these fittings to remove. All of a sudden I am looking at what looks to be many fittings and fasteners that will need to be removed for a simple oil change.
  24. Hi Guys, I am changing the oil for the first time tonight. Is there a suggestion regarding taking the oil filter out if you didn't buy the correct tool. I am switching away from the Moto Guzzi filter and going to the one that was suggested by Ned's. I bought the wrench that fits the new filter, just didn't want to spend the 50 bucks to buy the old wrench. We don't know which filter is in the bike now, we believe it is the Moto Guzzi filter. I'm just looking for an easy way to remove the old filter if my assumptions are correct. Thanks, Darryl

    The Ashes come home

Ok, Sorry I asked Man, those are some serious rules, but I guess trying to explain American Football to someone who didn't grow up with it would be about the same thing..
