That's hard to take, how many miles on your bike now? I'm in town for a while if you need a hand...

Mine is at 42,000 miles with few problems, never forced to walk at least... Bought her totaled out at 16,000 miles and repaired her, tough bikes...

I feel like I should chime in on this one... I have a 2002 BMW R1150RT with over 80,000 miles on the clock(purchased new). I had one major problem with the clutch at about 60,000 and later learned that the dealer did not do the required and paid for maintenance. With a Russell seat and back rest, highway pegs, I can ride this thing for days on end. It's not as much fun as the V11 but when I want/need to cover serious miles in all weather it's the bike I take out. I fully expect 200,000 miles out of this bike. The 2002 model is still "single spark" and regular up-keep is pretty simple. Their are many of these things available ,used, at nearly all dealerships and I'm sure you could find one "decked out" for taller riders. It's ugly, reliable, provides great protection, bulky, heavy, boring to ride, lots of available accessories, comfortable and completely un-Guzzi like, but I love this bike. Just an opinion from another worthless nut...

1976 V1000 Convert for sale. 65,900 miles, Major overhaul at 62,200 miles. Lots of work went into this bike and she is ready to ride. Original bags and vintage police windshield. Progressive rear shocks, custom seat with Moto Guzzi lettering, Dyna electronic ignition, flashing LED brake light add on. This bike is no longer for sale, found employment so now I can keep her!

2002 V11 LeMans ~ 36,900 miles with lots of comfort modifications: Custom and OEM seats, heated grips with soft covers, BMW power outlet/input, throttlemiester lock and counter weights, Buell mirrors, rubber foot pegs and smoke turn signal covers, flashing LED brake light add on, luggage rack, detachable soft bags, Gustafsson +5" windshield (smoke tint) with SA Eng deflector and micro swirl edging, Matra foot forward kit, Multi adjustable bar risers from Jean-Marc. Fresh tires, battery, fluids and brake pads, Hagon rear shock, comfort setting. Maintenance is up to date... I found new employment so now I can keep this bike, thank god and my new employer!

I have a set from Ryland, advertised in the MGNOC news letter. I am very pleased with them...

A freind of mine is looking at a "95" V1100 Sport... After he rode my "02" LeMans he wants another Guzzi to play with! The strange question: Does this bike have two batteries? Why? The current owner claimed to have replaced them both, the bike looks good and has less than 20,000 miles on the clock. It has potential but this two battery thing has me confused... Any information about the "95" model will help...

My "02" V11 LeMans battery warnig light has been flickering lately. Now it's getting worse, stayes on a minuit or so at highway speed. I've read about 20 old threads and suspect the regulator. Voltage readings accross the battery are really high... 13.5 volts at idel speed and floating around 18-20 volts at 4,000 RPM. The 30 amp. fuse get hot quickly but has never blown, yet... I just wanted confirmation that I'm on the right track before spending the money and wrench time, what say you?

I have the shock installed so its a bit tuff to measure. I can tell you I beleive that it's the same as the stock sachs unit because the over-all hieght of the bike has not changed. I had the bike on a stand to do the work and slipped a box end wrench under the tire ( grude measurement ) with both shocks installed again the same distance, ground to tire with no weight. I didn'nt even move the swing arm during the install. Slid a 2"x4" under the tire and changed the shocks... The old Connie has a set of progressive shocks on the back, she rides real smooth and has a cushy seat...

Converts... You either love em or hate em. Definitly a labor of love to own one. About a month ago mine was in a parade in a small town. A friend was riding Connie and I on my LeMans. He was much more comfortable than I was and the LeMans got pretty hot. That old bike gets a lot of attention...

Up-Date Placed the order for the Hagon mono shock on July 13, receieved and installed August 7. Rode to work today, 70 miles round trip... The Hagon shock is a major improvement over the blown Sachs. I think the origonal shock was tost when I got the bike because it feels like a different machine. In my case, the configuration was a softer spring and more dampining than stock, no remote adjuster. (200 lbs with luggage & rider, comfort ride quality ) Around $500... The only negitive I can note: Dampining adjuster screw is located on upper portion of shock making it nearly imposible to adjust with the stock air box in place. Positives: Much improved handeling and smother ride. Quality workmanship RED SPRING!! Good instruction data Small hand tools included Easy install Dave Quinn Motorcycles, They did what they said they would.

The rear shock on my "02" LeMans is blown. After doing some homework I've decided that a rebuild likely won't work. I also searched the vast knowlege on this web site and realize I can't afford the best... Anyone have any experiance with the Hagon Mono Shock on a V11? I checked a few other web sites, I can find lots of info about other styles but not a V11. The bike is mostly a daily commuter with a few long trips (1,000 mile+) per year. I never ride this bike two up and keep the bags light. I called the US distributer today and he is checking into the topic. He has a part number for a V11 sport but not the LeMans. The swing arm is a little longer than the "01" sport isn't it? Any info on the Hagon would help...

Noticed this weekend that I really need another rear shock. Trying to keep up with Richard on our way to an MGNOC breakfast, the Lemans (02) was hard to keep between the lines. Oil leaking from rear shock and the bike is not handeling well at all. Budget option: used OEM or a good deal on an up-grade?

I have to mention my experiance... Ordered one from Rosopure, didn't fit right. I forced it and it failed after a thousand miles... Visited the local hardware store and purchased a length of rain gutter screen. Light expanded aluminum. Cut to fit and spray painted black. Problem solved for about $10.00....

Why Guzzi you ask... When I was much younger, still riding my bicycle around town delivering newspapers, I noticed a few things. The Harley guys could always be found cleaning thier bikes, the BMW guys rode dirty bikes and were hard to find in order to pay me. The guys on the Jap bikes were usually on thier way to the hospital or just to cool to spend time with the paperboy. The guys that rode the Guzzi's would leave the cash in the mailbox if they were out riding and would be glad to talk and show you thier bikes if thet were not. The guy I'm thinking about still has the same Guzzi, 30 something years latter! I'm only on my third Guzzi, two in the garage now, but my eye is on another. Just can't part with the ones I have so I'm looking for a winning lotery ticket...
