  1. Thats why I put the pot inline because even at idle the Guzz was peaking out the audio level witht he input and across the mic to try and kill off any impedance matching issue's. Stupid full termi systems I kinda got that under control but now above 60kph the wind niose drowns everything out. The camera itself has a wind cut function but not when using external inputs. Have tried wrapping it in towel and putting it in the backpack but even vaguely in the vicinity of the cam recorder gets massive feedback from the tape drive motor. I found when replaying it through my stero if I simply turned the trebble right down that killed most of the wind niose off. So now witht he right combination of resistor and capacitor I should be able to make a tone control circuit like they used to have in car stero well actually I think they were mono's at the time. If anyone has any clues on where to start with componets value's, There is a way of working it out but it has disappeared into the annauls of !@#$ed if I can remeber how.
  2. Athough I have never got off my rear and actully done it I should probally do it before they become hard to find but the stupid power/econmy gauges that manufactures used to fit to cars mainly in the mid to late 80's when they couldn't be arsed fitting something actually useful like a tacho are vacum gauges. Get two of them Local wreckers mumbled something about 5 bucks each prefably from the same model/make and a bit of plumbing the air tube and taps for an aquarium jumps to mind and your're pretty well there. To calibrate hook them both up to one cylinder and simply pop the needle off and repostion it so they both read the same. As its a difference we are intrested in rather than the actual reading. No water mecury and vaguly portable. Some ducati shops were int he habbit of buying a set of four for a big japper cutting them in half and selling them for half the price of four.
  3. Kinda off topic but what do you do to the mic's to kill the wind niose I have all sorts of problems especailly with my hement cam. I put a pot inline to turn the sensitivity down but I really think I need a low pass filter to get rid of most of it. Or is that a post production thing?
  4. When was you gear oild changed more importantly when was your final drive oil last changed. Biggest effect on shift quality is condition of final drive oil with my 1100 sport and the old five speeder. I usally cahnge the final drive oil at least every 5000kms
  5. Before you go out and blow your dough clean the mounting bolts between the regulator and the frame make sure there is good metal to metal contact as these provide the earth point for the regulator. Also check and clean the main battery earth lead where it bolts to the frame. If the reg looses its ground referance it does all sorts of odd things like 17 volts.
  6. Yes well its going to be a misrable 28 tomorrow athough they are predicting this wet stuff falling from the sky not sure about that they have some funny ideas these weather people. I went down to the beach today was only 32 didn't go swimming maybe tomorrow athough they got some really odd stuff over east for christmas. BTW we work in celcius.
  7. 35mm sag would be better 25mm is a good track setting 10-15mm for the rear.
  8. Intresting the local dealer can't keep anything new on the floor for longer than a week. The other stuff is presold before it arrives. Norge's Breva's Griso, Vintage's all of them.
  9. Lyrics are identical Suicide probbaly did a cover as I tunes calls it a 2004 release. Odd because its associated with the 70's bit of the game. I don't see Rollins doing to many covers somehow.
  10. Song: Ghost rider Band: Suicide Only came across this one on a video game set in the 70's Song: Motorbike song Band: Angry Anderson Album: Blood from Stone This is certianly not one to write home about.
  11. BMW has stated it has gone as far as it can with an aircooled twin in the R1200S. Dunno I think they will let the motor run in the Griso with a relativly conservative state of tune for at least six months to see what breaks on it. Then they will see what is possible.
  12. I don't think 110 cv or 200kg is achivable not with an aircooled motor at least. The corsa is only just under 200kg dry with 125hp probally at the crank. Is it 15:00 yet?
  13. Are these are the real deal o photo chump? the Low resolution looks a bit odd from various angles. New motor aside the Griso also appears to have radial calipers upside down forks and braking wave rotors, well on the front at least you would think they'd do the rear at the same time.

    Wow!

Probally adopted the same measuring standards of the Japanese manufacture's. Thats bound to get the wieght of anything down.

    Wow!

    Homoginsied for the masses IMO
  16. Thats what I'm after price might be a bit ugly after shipping. Anyone have any clue whats the best size mastercylinder t drive these calipers. Will the stock 1100 sport one be ok I don't know its size some people have said 16mm which is just OK I believe. Others have said 13mm which I assume is not so good 999's are 19mm radial but I understand radial cylinders tend to have a shorter stroke so use a slightly larger diameter. Cue Benny Hill music.......
  17. LOL hmm might have to make them Ducati sells a bracket to go from 65mm on the fork leg to 40mm on the caiper the advantage of the older style calipers ? Whilst the RSV forks would be nice they are probally set up for radial calipers and these are still conventional ones. Also at some piont I will need to fund an engine rebuild and still mulling over adding to the stable with something a little newer. Now I just need to find someone with a milling machine in their back shed that they will let me use.
  18. Yes got that bit but I'm sure they used to have an Engish version of the site. My german stops at Stien Bitter, Dunker sp? The web translation pages don't seem to be very good for trawling through the catalogue.
  19. It seems the english version of the Moto Specail web page has disappeared, was keen to get a deep V sump if I e-mail in engish am I likely to get a reply? I also managed to recently pick up some new 999 Brembo calipers for a very good price. So I need an adapter bracket to take the mounting pionts of the old brembo calipers out to the new ones. Apparently someone somewhere makes a braket for this pourpose if anyone knowes who exaclty and has thier contact details that would be very useful otherwise I make my own/get someone to make one. Anyone have anyidea what kind of master cylinder to use for these things would the stocker be enough? Old Guzzi's never die they just cost more money.
  20. Re keeping things under wraps. There was !@#$ all on the 1200s until it arrived in a dealer. Some spy shots a couple weeks earlier but it certianly wasn't known about well in advance. Who knoes I don't think the 1200 motor will cut it in a sports bike market. A big dual pourpose tourer very popular in Europe and to be honest the only kind of machine I have ever considered from the Bike's Made Wierdly company. Then again if the 1200S is anthing thing to go by they'll skip the whole bike show hooo haaa and it will turn up in a dealer near you next week.
  21. There is also an allen head plug under each rocker cover that allows acess to the inside head bolts it is sealed by an o-ring. They are often overtightened at the factory and can leak.
  22. WHS^ it can also cause a white corrsion which will be semi conductive especailly if moist so the fuse won't go striaght away. Clean the earths and all connections find out what else runs off the start circuit. N.B. the film that WD40 RP7 CRC etc etc leaves behind is not conductive.
  23. The biggest problem with PCIII's in Australia is very few dyno's actually support them. It is also very rare for an overseas map to work satisfactorly Honda's Yammies and the like let alone for some low volume odd european thing. At least factor ina custom map into the purchase price if you can find someone to make one for you.
  24. Fairly certian they are the same. Might be worth checking this device out as an alternative Clicky .
  25. Have wave rotors on my Supermotard no complaints I think they about the same price or slightly lees than the equivlent Brembos.
