    Griso

I think its a shot of the first griso/ concept bike that was shown alongside the MGS-01 concept in 2002 they both had the Hi cam motors fitted.
  2. I manages to snavvle of copy of the orfictual press realease kit. To big to post but I can e-mail a few the really hi-res one are in some adobe format, All studio shots.
  3. I have a similar setup 1100 sports (carbs and exhaust). After stepping directly off that onto a griso there was a significant differnce especailly in midrange stomp. Factor in that my bike has covered 102 000km's and is about 20+psi down on compression, Mandello we have a problem.
  4. Suspension set up for you and an advance riding course usally at a track will make you bike a lot faster than messing with the engine ever will.
  5. No it won't the alternator has been moved between the V to allow everyone that wanted to run coffe makers hair straitener's (never such a thing existed till the other day) and all the other do dads on top of making sparkes pumpin fuel and seeing where you are going. The engine has also been shifted forward so I'm no sure about mounting pionts transmission lengths etc etc. Yes they can be overcome but after riding the Griso, how much better the 1200 is I don't know they keep disappearing off the local dealers floor, as a sports bike motor in the current market it will be seriously under done IMO. It will need some more go to back up the show.
  6. Umm yes if this is the sports bike my 1100 sport is safe. My bank balnce may not be as the MGS-01 is still calling a little louder now.
  7. Check that its no subject tot he final drive recall. Make sure the clutch is bled up properly, change the final drive oil , get some more km's on it it may be a running in thing. Fit a louder exhaust so you can't hear the gear changes.
  8. The last of the carbed 1100 sports had a marelli digiplex ignition unit in which you could retard the timing two degrees by earthing a loose wire. Other than twin plugging I have no idea why thats useful maybe something similar it could also be an input for a oxy sensor as I understand some V11's had them and some didn't depending on the country it was delivered too.
  9. I have a dominio sp? quarter turn fitted to my carbed 1100 sport twin pull item one cable for each carb striaght from the housing.
  10. I have the older 1100 sport, I feel they have never replaced it. I have ridden the Griso and the breva whilst the Griso turns nicely the motor is missing a certian urge that the older bikes had you also seem to be doing your best impression of a windsock at speeds north of 120k. Biggest problem with the V11 is the comromised seating postion which affects the handling, you can't buy a new one and its got the same performance as my older bike. I would like to upgrade my bike not fork out a heap of money to move sideways otherwise I should just keep the machine I have. Guzzi have certianly improved some area's that needed working on like the gearbox. However the rest of the industry has moved on and bikes that were its direct compeditors 10 years ago are signifcantly ahead. The Dual Spark two valve Ducati range jumps to mind I would like to buy my next bike off Guzzi but they have to offer something I want.
  11. Here Obiously the product of photo chump and could loose the centre stand but a much better effort than the "spy" photo's in a previous thread.
  12. The local Guzzi guru tells me if the oil light comes on its way too late. Can't say I found the senders particularly reliable ethier.
  13. Have you got a import permit? Are you shipping it or flying it. Disconnect the battery I don't think there are any issues witht he injection older car injection modules used to need to be sustained would be worth checking with your dealer/owners manual. If shipping it I'd think fulling it up with fuel to prevent miosture ingress and maybe stabiliser. General coating of some kind of preseving agent like lanolin or silicone. Australian customs are more worried about weeds and seeds than genral dirt so make sure you do under the guards etc etc.

    Silly new toy

Intersting here they are called GPX250.s been on the market for 15+years with very few updates. We have a tiered licensing system so everyone spends the first 12 months on a 250 so thier secound hand price is probally overinflated compared to the US. Many motocylist here however has started out on one of these so they are well respected athough they start to do wierd stuff when the vacum/polution stuff starts to leak that will be a long while off yet though.
  15. I found it didn't make any difference in my 1100 sport ethier. Didn't bother with it again and just change the mineral oil 5000 km intervals which keeps it shifting as well as it does.
  16. Crunched it through a web translator, crunched is the right term and 1200 norge motor with a bit more grunt and they are talk about naked muscle bike and aggression. Looks like a stripper Breva with a paint job which means its heavy and its go those handle bars and peg postion witch I'm not found of. Athough its intreing someone has put a paint job but the bike in the road photo's is matt black. It might be just a factory hack for road testing motor's gearboxes new mappings etc etc.

    how to

To remove the upper tripple clamp you need to undo the pinch bolts around the fork leg. Remove the nut/cover in the middle of the tripple clamp. Get large rubber mallet and bash tripple clamp off. You shounld't need to disturb the forks or the handle bars if they are orginal let alone the adjusment. The tripple clamp is just that it clamps on the forks similar to a hose clip.
  18. Swap the speedo with someone else's for inspection pourposes.
  19. 1 Havn't heard that surely Paul or Helicoter Jim would be making loud nioses about it to my understanding it is the V11 gearbox with a different endplate. 2. Yes kinda sort I still kinda feel they never replaced the 1100 sport properly, however I don't think the old two valve motor will cut it as a sports motor anymore. 3. Yes the major hurdle but I was going to keep it as a track specail. 4. As a track specail I don't envisage them been changed very often I don't see it as much of a hurdle there are still plenty of Daytona's and Centaro's around. 5. I think by the time I get close to building a bike to the level I would of spent many many times its price. There is a Daytona Racing for sale locally for similar kind of money (its actully No1 of 100) its had the full raceco treatment PVM wheels the works they guy told me what it cost him, yeah its not pretty. I also think the MGS-01 will reprsent the end of a era for Moto Guzzi. It will be the last of the aircooled twin serious performance bikes the fact thats it a track specail is testiment to what has finally caught up witht he 40 year old design (emissions) so possibly could be worth something in many years time. Could also be considered completely useless as no one will have fuel to put in it. Note I'm still trying to talk myself into it at the moment maybe I can use your reasons not to buy one.
  20. I have been told 20 000 euro at the factory door plus taxes shipping etc etc. I just havn't quiet convinved myself to spend 20 000+ euro on a track specail yet, I'm working on it though!
  21. Ok through a friend of a friend I managed to contact the vendor. The vendor is after 30 000 euro for this particular bike we simply told them we weren't intrested. I didn't try and inform them what I thought the bike was actually worth language barrier etc etc. For peoples info at least.

    Textile Jackets

I have a jacket from these guys Tiger Angel its over five years old and its the first serious water proof jaket I have ever owned and it doens't ned the thermal liner like the BMW stuff ethier to be water proof. Highly recommended they also run a very good repair and modifcation service should you ever need it. Athough it may be a little impractical from where you are. There are a couple bits of velcro the bottom outer flap of the jacket (so there are no studs to scratch the tank) and on the neck flap but my jacket is a bit older now. Products, all weather , element series jacket.
  23. So its probally for real then might try and direct contact the person. Hope he reads english!!
  24. Our Italian reading members got an update on this one did it sell forthe price listed or passed in?
  25. Ive only seen one, Designed to match the black green and silver early V11's matches the rest of the bik dunno about fade rates though. Bars are lower they mount below the tripple tree riding postion is closer to an 1100 sport than a v11 is it more confortable dunno but its what I would prefere. What it mounts too I have no idea. Certianly not as barn door ugly as the Lemans (oh that should get a few fired up) riding postion is much more aggressive more wieght on the front wheel which is a good thing handling wise. Nicely made the Lemans has definatly more of a touring riding postion IMO wind/ rain protection I have no idea the Lemans is probally more effective.
