  1. I have repeatedly flushed and bleed the brakes chasing this problem it does help but the problem seems to always return and I end up endlessly messing around with the lever adjustment and ending up with incisitant brake feel which makes juding corners a PITA.
  2. the pads I have currently hace the bronze coloured backing plates so I'm fairly certian they are sintered metal. Ive only managed to find refereance's for the current pads avaliable I think i have an older version.
  3. he also said he was getting brake fade with these pads and the different pads got rid of the problem. So it might be worth stumping up for the carbon pads I'll probally never be as fast as he ever was but there is a lot of me and MGS to pull up. The hardest braking point is also at the bottom of a hill off the fastest straight too might be worth a go, I'm trying to do some finacials to see of I can go to WSBK's at the end of feburay myself and the owner of Daytona Racing No1 are looking at doing a track day in the following days after the event so it would be nice to have this issue sorted especailly before going on one of the fastest tracks in the world  and it been such a major exercise to get there, 3500kms plus. Local track couple of out laps if you haven't seen it http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=ER4G6r7zJ2c
  4. Why do you not recommend the the race version? specfic heat range, excessive wear, other? I do not run my MGS anywhere except the track cheers for your thoughts. I think paul asked about this ages ago but I got off my rear and pulled the factory pads out, Brembo TT2472HH, 5908, 07.7855.10 I think the last number might be a batch number. There is some discolourisation of the paint on the back of the pad which is not normal IMO. The bed in period although simply went out on the track and rode.
  5. The race only version anyone used them before comments etc etc. MGS has the road/race sintered metal pads but I feel thier performance is a little inconsistant the pads are probally the cheaper upgrade.
  6. It will take me 12-18 months to be in a position to buy another bike and trust me you didn't want the two valve motor in the MGS the Corsa versions chassi can clearly cope with more power.
  7. There are a few rumors that Guzzi are seriously looking to build this bike i was wondering if any of our better connected members of this board knew anything about it.
  8. Yes thats a Guzzi press release it probally more along the lines of the owners walked in a said look we can't keep making the same old tried crap and expect it to sell go design some bikes we actually want to make money here!
  9. Its basically a graphite treatment for gearboxes.
  10. What they achieved, a very nice very exclusive track bike, the griso was also part of the "style laboratry" exercise. There is quiet a few of those around and they seem to be selling. Why did they use the daytona motor this bike was built in 2002/2003 for 2004 release the current 8Valve motor didn't exist nor for that matter did the cases the 8 valve motor now uses (1200cc redesign). I think the Parent company of Piaggio killed things off counld see a buisness case for both Aprilia and Guzzi competing in the same market.
  11. To be honest mine runs pretty good and I haven't bothered, I was kind of keen on cliffs setup mainly because he is sorta local well as local as 4500kms gets to me. I was going to get out the calipers and measure the headers and see if i have the 52mm ones that Mr Fallon was talking in his book about, would you know if its inside or outside diameter thats usually refered too? Currently working out if I can get it to the WSBK's without going broke and do a track day or two afterwards ATM.
  12. Yep bullshit, I have a carbed 1100 sport with FCR flatslides it drinks like there is no tomorrow, even with the delorto's it was the same 7-8 litres per 100 round town is normal very rarely do i get 6's there has to be no traffic modest paced country run and relatively flat terrian. Flog it and it will easily go past 10litres and hit 11's if you are really into it. It has been professionally dyno tuned in too whilst running a tad rich to run it any leaner I'd have to change jets with the seasons. I don't think the motor would handle bigger carbs (41.5mm) as the acellerator pumps with the quick action throttle can just about put the fire out without some port and flow work and maybe a bigger cam. If anyone has ridden a stock Delorto 1100 sport with the factory tuning airbox and exhaust they would realise what a massive step forward the fuel injection system was on the sport1100i as flawed as it is. BTW with the current state of the AUD the tune boy is cheaper than the moto specail device, I think the main problems affecting Guzzi's FI system is: 1 getting an old motor through new emissions. 2. When they do approach Webber Marelli for an ECU the volumes are very low so they get whats left over and not a whole lot of development time from the supplier. 3 Guzzi owners been conservative and usually stingy old farts and will !@#$ around at the edges with sensors and the like but actually biting the bullet and retuning the ECU as they are worried it might mess it up . Yes I'm having a bit of a vent.
  13. Go to Ghezzi-brian www.ghezzi-brian.com under tuning there is a full price list.
  14. Not right now bike is in the shop awaiting service not that there is a lot to see. I have a look through my pics and see if there is something archived I can crop.
  15. The orginal rubbers I found were a bit flimsy for supporting a carb without the aid of the airbox at the other end. Went down to the local serious auto store and order a half meter length of fuel delivery hose of the right diameter. From memory it was listed as about 1mm smaller than the actual carb throat but a bit of hot water got it sorted. The hose is rienforced with copper wire to give it a bit more strength can be cut with a stanley knife with a new blade without too much of a drama. From the local hardware store got a four stainless hose clamps (much wider than stock) total cost $20-25 australian with enough for a couple of bikes and maybe a mistake or two while cutting and the carbs don't get that droopy look anymore.
  16. The FCR's are brillant IMO I've never missed the choke ethier Mukuni's I have heard can be a bit tricky to setup but thats more rumour and innuendo than direct experince.
  17. Its kinda there but not quiet loose the "race" number plate and the belly pan the 1100 sport tank won't work on the tonti frame anyway so may as well loose that. The 1000s tank will and has a larger capacity to boot, the front fairing is the right idea ducati sport classic/magni v11 style IMO the seat need to be shrunk so it intergrates with the rear gaurd better, 18inch front wheel is a bit of a problem and out of proportion with the rear you ethier need to step the rear up or size the front down athough there are issues with 4 pot caipliers and 17inch spoked rims. the front forks look a bit raked out too IMO maybe reduce the steering head angle down to 25 or even 24 degrees and the rear gaurd probally need to be extended and something done to break up the swooping line that the rear gaurd and set forms so it flows with the front fairing better and the straighter tank from the 1000s. I think the carc and the twin stacked pipes will work visually on this bike and after riding a 1000s they aren't a bad bike but we don't need to go back to thier shaft jacking gear crunching performance. Guzzi certianly don't from a marketing piont of view ethier. I think however I have just described a classic styled 1100 sport which may or may not be a good thing. Something for the snow bound photochump nerds to work on, it will be 32 degrees here tomorrow, celcius that is .
  18. Before people run off and replace all relays beacause thats what the probelm was on the 2001's so obiously that isthe problem on all the older bikes. Pull the relays clean the contacts and reseat them. Fixes odd similar issues on my 1100 sport the problem isn't so much the relays but the weather sealing of the contacts.
  19. I think its a case of what the have left till there are none left. MGS isn't exactly a volume seller.
  20. Just picked it up right up to date includes the stevio V7 classic etc etc. Usual stuff production number however don't go past 1997 which is a little annoying although it does follow the MGS and the differences between the years Apparently around 2007 they went from 50mm, says collectors in the book but I'm thinking header the collecter is much larger, to 52mm supposedly gaining 6hp, Which would explain the slightly larger numbers mine is making might take one off one day and get the verniers out. All the usual stuff colour throughout this time too might keep people amused over winter for a bit.
  21. Yes but you've got to remeber half these guys come from a country who still thing hard tail bikes are a good idea . V7 looks intresting but I agree with Paul a Bellagio based V9.4 would be a hell of a thing to build up.
  22. Sorry took a while to find out, roughly 300+ a year for the last three years or so I would imagine thats increased over the last year with the new models which aren't half bad. Not enough to "save" the company but a steady stream. Stevio has finally been approved for local rego will be here jan.
  23. Oh yay private company run by democracy that'll work! by defintion you can't have a road legal Corsa (unless your first name is troy) Corsa = race, you could have a road legal MGS however.

Although the 940 Bellagio has the crank mount alt still I believe. Hopefully they do I'm getting sick of standing at track days eplaining to ethusiastic people no you can't register it and no you can't buy one you can register........ yes I'm !@#$ing sure I would of brought one ok!
  25. If you've gone to the troubble of the fairing, Quat D box, hard cases I think it would be done EPF are supposedly one of the better US guzzi shops.
