  1. So, yeah it's a Viton O-ring seal and the spacer is to set the timing (it's not really a gasket). They commonly get loose and need to be snugged up. Sometimes that stops the weep, but really common for the O-ring to harden and flatten out. Mne also leaked through the wire and I JBWelded it . . .
  2. No cable for the tacho, only the differing speedo drive. Again, the later cable has been used to drive earlier Veglia speedos. Hmm, it occurs to me now that you could retain the later light console with no wiring or lighting changes and only install the gauges themselves. Since your 2002 LeMans would already have white-face Veglia, you are looking to put Veglia on the Nero Corsa? That would look magnificent, IMO!
  3. @Chuck, so the Scura is wired the same as late model V11, but some of the wire color differs? (Those color diagrams are by Carl Allison (callison, here) and hosted on Gregory Bender's site, thisoldtractor.) http://www.thisoldtractor.com/guzzi007/sportissimo.html
  4. Can't wait to see this V11 at the South'n Spine Raid!
  5. Anything that gets us home is better than the Tow(ture) truck . . .
  6. Seems to me the later V11 wiring abandoned the relay dependent loom of the early V11 and went back to the previous generation start wiring that depended on the Ignition Switch, instead. Pros and cons either way, but early V11 wiring can benefit most from High Current Relays. Later V11 wiring (Scura?) rely on the Ignition Switch more.
  7. There is a third variant?
  8. I thought there were only two V11 wiring harnesses? Chuck's photo of his Owner's Manual diagram looks like #2 in LuckyPhil's post? (later V11 wiring) . . . LuckyPhil's images are from CarlAllison's work? Still hosted on Gregory Bender's ThisOldTractor? http://www.thisoldtractor.com/moto_guzzi_misc_wiring_diagrams.html
  9. Yeah, I don't mind using those on my lawn tractors. These things are more clinical and very impressive how little the tire has to be further damaged to seat the plug and remove the tool.
  10. That is a magnificent V11 and an amazing pile.
  11. Looks to me like if you power the 5-pin NO Start Relay it will pull in Relay #2. So, back to making sure the Start Relay is switched.
  12. First things first: upgrade to Best High Current Relays and condition the AGM battery properly. See pinned threads in "How to . . ." Then, there will be more . . .
  13. Are those wire wheels tube type only? I've put some tubeless types back on the road with good plugging and a compressor, but patching tubes by the roadside is out of my pay grade . . . Especially with only a side stand . . .
  14. This is such a fine, fine V11! And an amazing "pile" and provenance. Let us so hope it goes to another worthy steward as Surj has been. Continue your healing path, Surj, and stay in touch!
  15. Four weeks out . . . I hear wrenches spinning, tires being mounted, and throttle bodies being synched . . . Let the hills ring with V11 music!

Reminds me Scud's thread a few years back:
  17. I gave up on sourcing the Miruni Super Valkarn vulcanizing cement and sourced this instead (I presume it will work with the Maruni plugs):
  18. What is the status on the LeMans now? Runs and rides?
  19. Ah. Yeah, the inversion method works for those. I thought the poster was asking about blanking the holes left in the fairing.
  20. But, don't LeMans mirrors mount to the fairing?
  21. It's hidden on Page 42 of the Parts Catalogue: 17768750
  22. I can't imagine I have any real expertise or tools that would be significant, but it would be great to get our two hi-milers together this weekend and compare throttle body notes . . . PM me if we can get a shot at a rendezvous . . .
  23. I'm scratching my head, too, but your Scura start wiring differs from mine. Early V11 use the front two relays in conjunction. Early V11 require High Current relays in Positions #1 and #2 to function well. Later V11 take the start function through the Ignition Switch (classic Startus Interuptus). Why not just install a switched relay into what you have already done?
  24. I'm thinking you are running power backward into the Ignition Switch through the NO contact of Relay#1 and it is grounding through the LOP light. My Sport has the earlier wiring through "Light" Relay#2, like LuckyPhil is asking about. Pretty sure you will need a switched relay to bypass the Ignition Switch to power #30 contact of the #1 Starter Relay since its NO contact is continuous with the Ignition Switch.
  25. There is no such thing as too much Vaseline® . . .
