  1. Yo, Mikko . . . I am totally shocked you would take on anything "eccentric". Jus' sayin', bud . . .
  2. I keep longing after this funky-old hi-mile Guzzi some codger has holed up in a frankin' bunker under dance lights. Word is it's been "gone through" and "ran when last parked" . . . There is something about "prying off his cold, dead fingers" that gives me pause . . .
  3. Got that plug out just how???
  4. So, (depending on your set-up and state of tune) I usually can get 35-37 US mpg with my jackrabbit riding style. 34.5 when the ambient temps are low (40-55ºF) and 40-42 if I am "behaving." I have run out of fuel (too many times) and stopped to tip the Sport deeply to the left a few times (Tip-Slosh) to get a few hundred yards or more down the road. "YMMV" applies here quite literally!
  5. Sorry, I should have warned the squeamish to avert their eyes . . . Early V11 tanks trap a significant amount of fuel on the right side of the tank and forward (if riding downhill). Close to a US gallon. So, yes: 5.8 gallons minus about a US gallon . . . I use 5.1 US gal as a full tank . . .
  6. Hey, I really think my shaft failed from poor assembly practices (crossed the threads and re-used them) and complications of a crash. Don't cross the threads! "Important safety tip!"
  7. (What's up with the blurred PhotoBlockit images?)
  8. The early "chin-pad" tank with external fuel pump and filter? Everyone knows a picture is better than ten-thousand words . . .
  9. My bone fide P.Roper plate is clearly etched: motomoda Australia +61 417462440
  10. A big welcome po18guy! You've got a great jump on your Ballabio and you are definitely in the right place, here at V11Lemans.com. You can upload pics to your Gallery or add them as attachments, but file sizes are limited. Using a hosting site is recommended. ( like SmugMug, flickr, etc. ) Personally, I use imgzeit, built by one of our members "well known to me." It is no-nonsense, reliable, and worth the look, IMO. Looking forward to following your experiences!
  11. Only true SpineRaiders will cherish a ten minute video of a Guzzi Sport idling. Even the dude on the balcony broke into a sweat about minute-6 and had to go in for more Vodka . . . On my sound system, the tympani and timing sounds like an underwater Brazilian percussion band with occasional fly-overs from a Stearman bi-plane . . .
  12. Wouldn't that be quite something? The V11 clutch bleed is a fussy thing, otherwise . . . but not to be neglected!
  13. These issues are typically multi-causal. Connections are always contributory: Main Ground (as czakky sez. He knows! ) Here's the "short list" . . . Best Relays Decent Tune-up Tank Off Maintenance Checklist (See, especially, the clutch switch "bullet connectors" . . . Those will give you the no start/-no prime/no click/nothing response from the start button. Try holding in the clutch lever and holding in the start button while rotating the bars lock-to-lock.) Odyssey PC545 Battery Conditioning Sorry I can't make it simpler. It-is-what-it-is, isn't it?
  14. What an amazing bundle of hot-hot bikes and dedicated riders! Nicely done, people!!! SpineRaiders, all!
  15. Shame about all the heavy traffic. . .
  16. Looks like V11scura02sport has a Scura and we all know about the flywheel issue within the clutch assembly. Perhaps this what concerns him? How about one of our multi-lingual, or Spanish speaking, members help out our new friend?
  17. With my factory style Ducati Energia regulator the battery light flickers dimly at idle because the battery has higher voltage than the charging output when the battery is at a full state of charge coming in from riding. I still find it kind of annoying, but remind my self, "Ok, look, the battery is charged."
  18. Then there are the SpineRaiders that "just know" . . .
  19. Love PennAdam's RossoMandello! Sweeeet! Ridin' on Appalachian mountain roads . . . in&out of the shadows, head up, late apex, and roll on! "Show up. Bring tools."
  20. Yep, as Tomchri said, get a .bin file, write it to the ECU in the privacy of your personal la-BOR-a-tory. pm Meinolf. He's a great guy and has been so supportive to our community!
  21. Interesting. The question about whether "Beetle" (not a member here) has written V11 maps came up at the Fifteenth South'n SpineRaid. Dunno. For sure, though, our member Meinolf has likely written the very best V11 mapping to date. Far better than any other option, as I understand.
  22. Holy BatScura, Batman!
  23. Yeah, bud, I'm not lovin' this, but it's real . . . And , let's face it, I'm not breaking down 35 miles from home. The last breakdown was 310 miles from home. That was a sucky 310 mile tow truck ride. But AMA had a Recovery Operator to me within two hours on a Saturday evening, in the North Carolina mountains, who was determined to get me home (3am).
  24. All the fuses in the factory fuse block are "Regular" (APR / ATC / ATO / ATS) blade-type fuses (not Maxi, Mini, or Micro). For roadside assistance, consider AMA (American Motorcyclist Association). For their $35(?)/year membership, they cover all your bikes and cars as well as kids away at school. Excellent service!
