Yes, make sure the regulator case (body) is grounded directly to the engine and clear any paint from the connection surfaces. With such a big stack of terminals fastened to the battery, it is common to drop one on re-installation. Look for a loose, unattached loop connecter near the battery.

How much did you drop the rear ride height? (Seems like the ride height changes double the shock length change.)

This is all my older brother's fault! He would let me takes spins on his Yamaha SR500 "Eeyore." When the time came to bring something of my own home, he took me around to look at proper "entry bikes:" Yamaha Seca 600, Honda Hawk GT, and the GB. I found the GB about an hour from here having languished in a little country shop for two years. The over-$4000 price had given way to less than 2500. It's probably worth twice that now even with the miles. She is an absolute sweetheart.

It does look exactly like a 2004 LeMans except for the faring. The VIN have been so dubious on Moto Guzzi that I wonder how anyone could declare it a Corsa form the numbers. Even down to a "black" Corsa and not red? Probably not as much of a Frankenbike as you would have first thought.

I'm sure if I tore the motor down, I would find the heads and valves could use freshening. Maybe at 160.000 km (100k miles)! I think the improvements of the '03-'04 V11 are very desirable. You would not be disappointed with an R/N Corsa!

Seems like I recall the O-ring fits below the spacer(s). Apparently, it is a black art to determine the spacer thickness. In fact, Luigi does not do this in Mandello. They call in a Specialist. Some burly cat named: Griso

So, with the V11 tank being a "pannier" or "saddle" affair, could the bottom badness be aspirated off from time to time with a simple pump inserted into the deep recesses on each side? Or would that make any difference?

Last time I tried to get more mileage out my tire choice, I went too hard and lost traction at a bad time. I'd rather change my tires with the oil than try to get a couple hundred extra miles on iffy grip. The Pirelli Angel GT are serving me well. Anxious to hear back from the guys that are trying the Michelin Pilot Road GT.

That makes sense. So the water problem comes from external exposure? Made worse in damp climates, extended storage situations?

Soft valve guides have been reported on the V11 series as well as the pre-V11 Sports. At 90,000 miles (146.548 km), I'm still not seeing signs of an issue so it's certainly not a given that the valves always have to be addressed at low mileage. Later V11(2003 on) have a cooling oil spray onto the piston bottoms. And, yes, better driveline paint than the '02 LeMans/Tenni. The ITI instruments changed from Veglia. In some markets, closed loop FI with catalytic converter was added (not sure when). Anders, go to your profile and enter a location.
