  1. I just received an email, signatured by the Administrator of the forum, in which he informes me that I am in probation for the next 6 months, because I take part in political discussions.... I "copy/paste" this email here, as I exactly received it: Dear Dimitris, To be honest, I'm fed up... Forum rule: Having fun is good, we like fun. Please keep it positive and polite. We do not censor opinions or ideas on our forums but we do take action against posts and/or topics that could cause unrest in the community beyond a civil and polite disagreement. Political discussions are not allowed. There are plenty political forums on the web . You're all on probation for the next 6 months. If there is any abuse of above forum rule, I'm pulling the plug on the site. I have plenty of FUN stuff I could do be doing! This is not an idle threat. Reg, Jaap Veldhorst administrator Please, I would like some explanations, because I don't understand a single thing... Thank you Dimitris
  2. So, If I am right the Big daddy's pictorial link isn't working, is it?
  3. Pete, Tom, thank you very much. The only disadvantage is that I need time for the "do it yourself business" but I would be very happy if I finally do it by myself. Thanks again! Ciao! Dimitris
  4. OK, understood. My Guzziology version is 6.0 As it is written in my book, the first thing to do is balance the cylinders (won't describe the procedure) and afterwards comes the TPS adjustment, as I described it above. So, in my description, nothing is said about disconnecting the rod or about the idle screw. So, assuming that my cylinders are balanced, do you think it will be enough if I follow the procedure I described above? (ignition key open, kill switch open, engine not running, connect the multimeter to the TPS, set to 521mV)
  5. Hi, I know that many things have been written and believe me, I tried to read and understand all the previous posts about this topic (TPS adjustment). My knowledge on these things are very poor and I started reading the book named "Guzziology" some time ago so as to start understanding better. To cut a long story short, I read on the Guzziology book the paragraph about the TPS adjustment and since I haven't got the VDST yet, the only way is to use a multimeter, which my mechanic possesses. So on the Guzziology book things appear to be easier (or it seems to me). The following are written: Locate the TPS and pull back the protective rubber cap without disconnecting the multipin wire connector. This will expose three wires. Connect a negative lead of a digital multimeter to the battery's ground. Attach the sharp probe tip of the positive lead to one of the three wires as follows: Negative--Ground, Positive--Black/Purple. With the ignition on and kill switch in the run position, the reading should be 500+/-25 millivolts. As far as the indication, since I read the forum's previous posts, I know that it would be better to be positioned at 521 mV. My Questions are: 1) Since the engine is stopped, according to the forum's draft, shouldn't the TPS show 150 mV, instead of 500+/-25, that is written in Guzziology? 2)If I follow the Guzziology procedure, is it enough? Will it be complete? Thank you!! Dimitris
  6. Could you give me the link please, of Big Daddy's Pictorial about oil filter installation?
  7. Putting a Mistral Silencer, as well as a Mistral (or Stucchi) Crossover is the best you can do! I am planning to do that also sometime in the future... Be well Dimitris
  8. Hi GuzziLee, As a Breva (2006 Breva V1100 ABS) owner for the last 2 years I can tell: Very easy to ride motorcycle! Handles perfectly, the engine is smooth and the torque is satisfactory. The riding position is one of the most comfortable ones I think. It is a very goog naked/tourer bike. The fuel consumption is around 5,2 to 5,6 lt/100 km. The front brakes are superb. The back brake is very powerful, that's why I preferred the ABS edition. The ABS system works..like you do not have any...it functions whenever you truly need it (panic brakes) The pillion seat is very comfortable also. Best solution for me (if you like traveling with pillion) it to buy the MG hard bags and also the 45 lt top Box. Disadvantage: The MG stock screen produces some buffeting effect when riding at speed 120-130 km/h or more. (there are some marques that produce after market screens, if you'll think you need it). The buffeting effect becomes more when riding with the pillion. (Much have been said to the mg-griso forum. You can read many things and find choices-solutions there www.mg-griso.com Be well Dimitris P.S on the uploaded image you can see an aftermarket screen that I've mounted when traveling in winter, buffeting-free with a pillion.
  9. I know that the MGS01 has the standard air cooled engine but I've heard that there are some modifications that turn this engine to a liquid cooled. Is that true? Does the MGS01 of Guareshi use a liquid cooled engine? Is there any topic where I could read about this modification? Is it all that I am writting just nonsense, and I haven't realized it? Dimitris
  10. Thank you Greg, Finally I bought the Mistral crossover, with the oval titianium Mistral exhausts, the FBF airbox conversion kit and the PCIII. I just cant get off that bike...anymore...It is sooo enjoyable...the reason that I didnt prefer the FBF crossover is because I had read a thread (maybe yours) in this forum, about the crack problem. Now I am thinkinf of the FBF piston kit, as a winter project..
  11. ] Το εκτιμώ ιδιαίτερα. Σε ευχαριστώ πολύ.
  12. I do track days and 4 times that I was in the circuit the last 2 months, my stock pads worked really good but I never have used sintered pads and I can't make a comparison..I also ride my bike in public roads (Metzeler M3). Maybe the only way to decide is to try the sintered ones....
  13. I voted for a street-legal MGS01. Actually I don't care if it will look like the MGS01 but I would like to see a new original SPORT Guzzi model, which it will give approximately 110 to 115 bhp to the rear wheel. I am not asking for much!! Just a true street legal Guzzi V twin model. I don't need too much horsepower (like the Japanese ones) but 110 to 115 rw bhp is a respectable horsepower! Come on Guzzi, wake up and make us smile. Make us stop trying to achieve more power from your beautiful bikes, by mounting aftermarket exhausts, crossovers etc....Give us a real sporting factory bike in a competitive price!
  14. thank you Ratchetack! Knowledge never stops...I will start doing some parts of the service to my bike by myself (till now I didn't do anything by myself), so as a "rookie" I will have many questions and queries...Thank you!!
  15. very interesting thread! Soon I will have to change the brake pads from my V11 LeMans and I am confused of what kind of pads to use. On one hand, I want to use the same as stock pads (brembo), on the other hand my mechanic trys to persuade me to use metallic pads (Gulfer, he suggests), claiming for better performance...I told him that I've heard that metallic pads may damage the disk, but he says that he uses those metallic pads 7 years now (he has a HONDA CBR600RR) and no problem has ever occured.. I am confused...what is your opinion? Will the feeling of braking-and the practical result- become better using the metallic pads or will I be in danger of destroying my disks? Are the stock pads organic?
  16. Ryland, I read the article in FAQs, very useful! I intend to change the oil filter myself, which is something I will do for the first time. So, I will follow the steps of Big Daddy's pics, but before starting doing this I would like to know, where will I find this hose clump, to secure the oil filter?
  17. I just bought this oil filter for my V11 LeMans. Is there anything I should be aware of before installing it? thank you, Dimitris
  18. Very interesting infos..... I always "feed" her with Shell 100 Octane Racing Fuel (or BP or something equal). I still intend to call FBF in Italy and proceed to this upgrade (keeping also the stock pistons )
  19. I am thinking seriously of buying this FBF piston set for my V11 Le Mans... Is there anything I should be aware of?
  20. thank you very much for youe replys!
  21. Hi, Are there any Champion filters, that are suitable with the V11 LeMans 2002? I think a dealer in my city sells Champion filters, and it would be easier for me, instead of ordering UFI filters from abroad. Thanks Dimitris
