  1. We may use the Breva rather than the V11 and Nevada, but we will be there - no matter what the weather can throw at us. Even if the numbers attending are down on what we expected I'm sure we'll have a good time ....
  2. I spoke to the landlady tonight and she's already had a few cancellations. It looks as though the weather forecast is starting to put people off travelling such a long distance. I can't really blame them - it's pretty bad . Have you guys paid deposits?
  3. If the weather is good (which it will be, won't it....) we'll take our time and have good tour around , probably arriving in Spean Bridge late afternoon on Friday. I'm glad that a few more v11lemans.com members are coming this year. We should have approx. 10 V11's plus an assortment of Buells/other makes.
  4. Carl - just thinking aloud .....how about a 'forum' meeting at Haywards in Cambridge on Saturday 24th June?
  5. My V11's monetary value or others perception of it is immaterial to me - I simply love riding it. The V11 ticks all the right boxes .
  6. Not quite what we had intended , but we enjoyed our trip to the MGCGB Scottish Rally. We had a fantastic time exploring the borders on Saturday and Sunday but only camped the one night, staying Sunday night in a B&B . It was just too cold for Jane, who really suffered on Saturday night. Minus 3 deg C at 6.00am Sunday morning....

At least the bike looked good....
  8. Well, I didn't manage to get today off work so we'll be riding up early Saturday morning ......

    who's the man

My October 1999 V11 has 70,381 km (or 43,734 miles in real UK money) on the clock. No major niggles except the engine/gearbox recall. And did I ever mention that I it to bits and would never part with it......

    MCN V11 REPORT

Good to see a real bike in MCN and two members of v11lemans com .
  11. Congratulations - at last, you've finally got your sticky mitts on the Buell. Hope you enjoy it and complete the running in process quickly. If you can, get yerself down to Sammy Miller's in Hampshire, on Sunday 23rd April for our first Buell event of 2006. Details are on the UK Buell owners web site within the social section.
  12. To be held at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham. Meet at 11.30 am for an informal get together which will include lunch in the Museums self service restaurant We're hoping that approximately 30 to 40 of the new models will attend but all Moto Guzzi's are welcome
  13. I couldn't agree more ....
  14. Yes, met the great man himself June 2005 @ Silverstone race circuit. He's just a regular bike nut and great to talk to - not corporate at all. Gives me an excuse to post this picture of Erik with my S1
  15. Slowpoke, sorry to read that you have such a downer on V11's. As others have said, you should be able to clean up the fuel injection for very little cost. There's lots of help available on here. Ref Buells - I've only had a short test ride on the XB model but was very impressed with the handling and low-down torque. If you want a bike for back road thrills then a Buell XB is up there with the best. Quality and design has improved over the years and the XB range is generally reliable. I my S1 and V11, they both have that certain something you won't find anywhere else.

  17. An Italian source on the Anima Guzzista forum has indicated that 2,645 CARC units are to be replaced worldwide. So.....if the unit cost is £250, and that's a conservative estimate, that would cost Guzzi in the order of £661,250.00 ..... I wonder how much cheaper the suspect bearings were compared to the likes of SKF?
  18. Muppets, now you're talking my kinda language . My hero is Beaker - I've always regarded him as a typical Guzzi owner....
  19. A recall has now been issued for this problem. The whole CARC transmission box is being replaced. The dealer recall notice 1.1mb PDF is here http://www.guzzitech.com/MGGriso/Files/Bre...Brng-Recall.pdf I'm getting used to recalls ........the Buell had 9, the V11 had 2 and now the Breva
  20. Jaap - we haven't to mention the ..... I think you mentioned it once but got away with it....
  21. It's all about usability - that's why Guzzi's and Buell's float my boat. I've never wanted to rush out and buy the latest hot poop Japanese missle, but, just in the back of my mind.......190 BHP 113 FT/LB on the road........what would that be like?
  22. What 190+ BHP (with ram air ) and 113 FT/LB would be like? After years of riding bikes that struggle to produce 90 BHP I find myself being rather curious...
  23. Thanks for the responses - much appreciated .
  24. My original 1999 battery has finally died and I'm looking for a replacement. What are you guys using? Shopping around, the alternatives are: Westco YTX15L-BS @ £69 Varley Red Top 20 @ £90 Hawker Genesis G13 @ £98 Genuine Guzzi part number 01 70 45 01 @ £120
