For all you Guzzi sports bikes fans - Details on the Anima Guzzista web site. Apologies if it's been shown before
  2. Thanks for that Todd . This is what I like about v11lemans.com - there's plenty of Breva 1100 information ....
  3. I've moved from concerned mode to perplexed mode after reading the above and may shortly move into full-on 'frenzy' mode . I need a big hug and reassurance ...... If the mighty BMW have problems with a similar type of design what chance do the not-so-mighty Moto Guzzi have Do BMW use SKF in their drive units? I may follow Pete's/Todd's lead and have the cheap 'East European' bearing changed to a quality SKF unit, even though I've no problems at the moment. I can buy bearings at trade through my company so the SKF 61917 would cost me £65.00 + £11.38 tax = £76.38 (approx $140USD). A small(ish) price to pay for peace of mind. Todd - what is the part number of the Viton oil seal please.
  4. Well put mdude, I couldn't agree more with your sentiments . As the proud owner of one of these new fandangled Breva's (yes, with the funny headlight ) I'm concerned that reports of a 'minor' problem have arisen but certainly not in a frenzy about it. If I have a problem it'll be sorted under warranty. After owning a V11 for just over 6 years I bought a new Guzzi with eyes firmly wide open. I still love them and wouldn't buy anything else .
  5. Due to the high level of interest in this event (not on here admittedly ) I've produced a fact sheet about the festival which I'm posting/e-mailing to people who wish to attend. Please let me know if you want a copy. We're organising camping on the Friday night, 21st July, at a pub approx. 15 miles from the Aviation Centre. The cost is £5.50 per tent. I need some idea of the numbers - please let me know if you're interested.
  6. No problems with my August '05 Breva after 5,300 miles - fingers crossed!
  7. Our tickets arrived this morning and it looks as though we'll both be able to get Friday 28th off work. Traquair House sure looks a nice place.
  8. My Buell has covered 21,000 miles with the original drive belt - and it's ridden in a most un-Harley kinda way ......
  9. Good advice Rick . If this bearing does go belly-up on my Breva I'll let Guzzi pick up the tab under the 2-year warranty - which expires 27th August 2007. If its going to show any signs of premature wear, surely it'll have happened by then.
  10. Thanks Antonio, another event I'd love to attend but can't . Wouldn't it be great if I could just ride across to Holland in early April and return in October having visited all these events..
  11. Thanks for a thorough explanation Pete. I've been following this topic since noticing your first post on Todd's MG-Griso forum but haven't been unduly worried by it. Considering my Breva's done 8,500 km without any problems, I reckon it's pretty much OK. It did occur to me that having the bearing changed to SKF (or similar) for peace of mind would be worthwhile - even if it means paying for it myself and not under warranty. I'd hate to have a problem miles from home .
  12. Pete - at what mileage have the few failures occurred? My Breva has done 5,300 miles and the back wheel/CARC drive unit seems fine. BTW the bike is a '1st Series' model bought in August 2005.
  13. I'd love to go to the Motogiro D'Italia and all the other Guzzi/Italian related European events like the Trofeo Rosso but little things like having to work for a living keep getting in the way ..........
  14. This is a H**da NTV600/650 fender extenda made by Pyramid Plastics, part number 05105. I fitted it in October 1999 and it works a treat.
  15. Meet the great man in person at the V11 meet in Spean Bridge - I've booked him for after dinner speeches......
  16. Things may be bad in the USA where it appears there's no formal spares back-up at the moment, but I've had no trouble obtaining V11 parts from Corsa Italiana or Teo Lamers
  17. Martin - could we follow you between checkpoints please
  18. Interesting idea DVH and we're free that weekend. Any excuse to 's. I'll download the entry form when its available at the end of February.
  19. Yes I still like it. I don't regret buying the Breva, it's everything I'd hoped it would be. Once the better weather arrives I can continue my 'intensive mileage program' Back to Ducati's ..... my little bruv had a black/gold Darmah just like yours. He currently owns a 916, Monster 900 and a 860GT - but no Guzzi's....
  20. Mmmm, know what you mean about the Breva's chrome trim. I've grown to like the funky front end/petrol tank styling - sort of reminds me of 1950's American cars .
  21. The balance is just right. Being a V11 site doesn't preclude discussion about new Guzzi designs - or even, shock...Buells. It evolves naturally. Without wishing to be too creepy-crawly , this web site is the best Moto Guzzi site I visit on an almost daily basis. It's certainly the most 'international' and I reckon that's what makes it tick. I feel at home here. The sense of humour is spot on and there's very little 'attitude'. The level of technical and other information available is second to none. 4-ever .
  22. Pity your V11 has to go but the V1100 is a brilliant bike
  23. Yorkshire is dry and the daytime temperature is around 5 degrees C.
  24. Great news Guy - now you can and ...
